Just stumbled across this video. Restoring my 50 F2. My Fenders are just as bad. However, once you mount the frame to rear fender brace, they do smooth out evenly. If you are building a show piece. Then get new fenders. If a driver, Make them work. I'm building something that I am not afraid to drive. Too nice and it will rarely ever leave the garage.

Sounds great Pat! This truck is my Dad’s and he’s going for an all original show piece. Not a SEMA truck of course but a brand new old truck. He opted for new fenders but all steel of course. Nothing fiberglass is even allowed to park next to it. Haha!!!

I definitely had to watch this, because my name is also Tunnell. We may be some shirttail relation. I am in the process of building a 1952 Chevy pro street pickup. I will be following your build

Oh that’s awesome! I’m glad you connected with me. There’s no question we are related - just not sure how. Good luck with the truck. I have a 53 car that sometimes gets featured on the channel. Thanks for watching!

I’m working on my 50 F1, too, and it has the wrong fenders for the bed. The previous builder just tightened the bolts to bend them on. Looked like junk. I don’t have new fenders in my budget, so I’ll probably make spacers for those areas out of black delrin plastic. New subscriber, Tony B 👍

      Thanks Tony!
I’m your newest subscriber as well! Thanks for the follow. Your truck looks beautiful! Yes, those fenders were pricy! I can’t wait to watch your progress. William

Have a 49 that I am looking to getting completed. You wouldn't be interested in taking on a project would you?

I’m flattered, but I’ll have to pass; we do this for fun, and don’t have time for what we have! Thanks for asking though and good luck with it.

I think I would have checked alignment before I waisted my time stripping them down.. If the bed was all new its a no brainer to bought new fenders to match
