    As a newbie I would be lost without videos like this, thanks Steve.

    This has happened to me in the past. I usually change my settings to JPEG and 1080p to conserve space, but your tip of moving data to your phone via quick transfer to regain space is genius. Thanks for sharing.

      I think we've all been there at some point. It's why I started keeping a card wallet in each of my camera bags. Thanks Ron!

    I have landed in this situation & internal sd saved me from returning home that afternoon.

    That was great Steve. I've always wondered about that but never tried it. Like # 41!!!!

      Thanks! Works awesome and potentially a day-saver in a pinch. It was born out of the shocking number of times I went outside to quickly test something and didn't have an SD card in the Mini - haha! Cheers!

      Hahaha!! I've gone to that very spot, had no SD card in my camera, no spares and had to scoot/walk/bike/run home to get one, so it's a touch symbolic for me. That's why I started putting a card wallet in each of my camera bags. That simple trick has saved me more times than I care to mention. Cheers!

    I wanted to quickly ask, the pro Vs the non pro 3 😅❤ what do you suggest 😊

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Louis, nice to hear from you! My typical answer is buy the one that best suits your needs and your budget. It's hard for me to know exactly what's important to you. If you're thinking the Mini 3 line, the base Mini 3 is on sale on DJI.com for $419 vs the Mini 3 Pro at $759. Both come with the RC-N1. Essentially it's the same camera sensor on both drones with the same capabilities. The Pro offers a few more camera features as well as tri-directional obstacle detection/avoidance but is that worth $340US? DJI has a really good drone comparison tool here - www.dji.com/ca/products/comparison-consumer-drones?from=store-product-page-comparison. Good luck!

    Hi, thank you for the informative video.The question I am trying to get an answer to is -- How to download the internal storage files. I am trying to download the RC screen recording that I managed to store on the RC controller.

    • @celinakontiza
      @celinakontiza 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Me too, could you maybe help us out on that? How to do it, because I came home and the recordings that I have done are not saved.. probably because my storage is full, however it saved and now I can’t find it

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Great question. It's completely convoluted and I haven't totally explored it yet but here is something that works.
      Now, you would think you could just plug your RC 2 in to your computer and browse internal storage right? Well, I certainly can't do that on my Mac even with the Android File Transfer app installed. It ~may~ work plugging it in to a Windows or Android device directly but I don't run those two operating systems so I can't test it. If you have either one, it's quick to test. If the RC 2 mounts, you should be able to browse the file system and pull you files.
      If the first option doesn't work, you can mount a storage device to your RC 2. Any storage device will do - SD card, hard drive, thumb drive, etc. Once the storage device is mounted you need to get in to the file browser. It is explained in the video here - th-cam.com/video/pvtvOJm5FSc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E28jsYbA0AI-fFbk&t=250.
      Once you browse to the files you want to copy, you can select individual files with a tap or use the "three dot" menu in the top right corner to "select all". Once selected, tap the "three dot" menu again and select "copy to". Choose the hamburger menu in the top left corner to change the copy destination to the storage device mounted on your RC 2.
      It's ridiculously convoluted but it does work. Let me know if it works for you, cheers!

    Once ive transferred the files i can only store them on my phone in 1080p max, i shot the footage in 4k tho, can someone advise , many thanks🙏

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's strange. I haven't experienced the same issue. What I would try is plugging your drone directly in to your computer and copying the files that way. It's briefly explained in the video. Anyhow, if you end up with full-resolution, 4K files it means Quick Transfer is doing something funky. Cheers!

    Great video. What kind of backpack are you using in this video?

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Andy! It's a Brevite Jumper Camera Backpack, I added a link in the description. It's not my normal style of camera bag but I really like it. It's light, comfortable and seems well constructed. It holds a shocking amount of gear, which really surprised me. I've been meaning to do a review on it, so maybe this is my nudge. Cheers!

      Hello. Sorry the the late reply to this comment. If I am understanding your question correctly, you are asking about the difference between SD storage on the aircraft and remote? Simply the aircraft SD storage is primarily designed for storing photos and videos while the RC storage is designed to store screenshots and screen recordings taken on the remote. As for aircraft internal storage, it is there for those times when you forget to put an SD card in the aircraft. Its additional function is that you don't need an SD card installed in the aircraft when updating the firmware. Hope that answers your question. Cheers!

    So when i plug the drone in to my iMac nothing will appear on my desktop, and if i try to download it from my phone via the app it won’t download. Is there anything else i can do ?

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's really weird. Off the top of my head I would try the usual troubleshooting techniques first - reboot the iMac, try a different cable, reboot the drone, etc. If none of that works, I would contact DJI Support. It usually just works. Good luck!

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Reboot your drone and controller. Make sure your firmware is up to date. If that doesn't solve the issue it could be a bug. The best bet is to contact DJI Support. Good luck!

    Can you use a 1 terabyte sd card with the dji mini?

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I believe it lists 256GB as the maximum "recommended" card but I don't know if that's a hard limit on size too. Worst case try it and see if it works. It may only write up to 256GB. Personally, I have never tried anything above 256GB. Cheers!

    I can not for the life of me find my "photos" that I have taken in flight. I have tried taking them while video is running and without it running. I have looked in the internal storage as well. I have a 128gb SanDisk card and it works on the video just fine. I will wait for your reply Mr. @SteveCoutts

    • @SteveCoutts
      @SteveCoutts  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Are you talking about actual photos or screenshots?
      If you mean actual photos, they are stored on the SD card in a folder called DCIM and a sub-folder beginning with "DJI". There may be more than one "DJI" folder so be sure to check all of them. Also, it can be helpful to sort the files by date so the most recent appear first. If you're like me, I take a LOT of photos and video and sometimes stuff gets buried.
      If you are taking about screenshots, they are stored on the device on which you took the screenshot. On the RC/RC2, from the start menu just go in to Album and then choose "Phone Album". You will see screenshots under Photos. If you're using a RC-N1 or RC-N2, screenshots are stored on your Android or iOS device wherever your photos are typically stored. They may be located in a "Screenshots" album deepening on your device and operating system version.
      Cheers!
