    I really liked the rolling total for monthly grocery expenses. Also, I'm across the river in the 'Couve, so it was fun to find someone local who shops WinCo and Safeway (Albertsons) sales.

    Here for the fact that you're shopping for a young family of three - that's our current family count but we're going up to a family of 4 in December! Going to need all the tips I can get and these are very practical for me. We are currently sitting at about $325 a month for our groceries but we also spend around $200 on eating out...would love to bring BOTH numbers down so we'll see if that happens!

      Gourmet hotdogs blistered in a toaster oven and kettle chips helps keep me from running to the golden arches!

    I hate food waste too. I just started eating the bones from the chicken thighs I bake (not kidding) XD! Farmed chickens don't get old enough for their bones to fully calcify so they're brittle after baking. The ends nearest the joints are the easiest to chew. The center shaft is tougher and breaks into sharp shards, so I don't recommend eating that part unless you're super careful. I grind it on my molars until it's pulverized.

    What state are you in? Shopping sales, we spend that amount almost weekly for a family of 3. That being said, we don't eat a whole lot of grains. A loaf of bread, bagels, or tortillas will last us months because only my kiddo eats those.

    Hi there!! Just found your channel and was wondering what state you live in?? We have Albertsons and QFC. I’m in the Seattle Washington area. Curious because most hauls I watch, they aren’t shopping at the same stores. Exciting to find your channel because it is so relatable!

    If only I didn't hate grocery shopping so much I could probably find some good deals like you do! But alas I will continue my once a week or every other week shop because I'm lazy 🤣

      I feel like grocery shopping is my fun hobby nowadays, so that’s why I go so often 😂.

    Just stopped at Winco in the Vancouver WA area... we picked up a surprising amount for on $80. I didn't find any mark downs except on pigs feet.. Hard pass for me. There was pork... but the lady in front of me grabbed it all. Oh well. Maybe stop at Albertson's or safeway sometime soon. We are lucky to have 4 grocery stores plus a small meat market/ farm stand in our nearest town.

      I rarely find markdowns at WinCo which is a bummer, but their prices are so good! That’s where we shop to fill in any holes for our weekly meals.

      @@FrugalLifeThriftyWife I most often shop Walmart and Fred's.. usually can find deals at both of those.. but my kidlets like to hightail it to the toys.. so it becomes more frustration than anything.. need to find some grace and patience I guess. You and your family stay safe in the new year. Thank you for the great channel. I am enjoying all the videos I've seen thus far.

      @@constances.1434 I definitely should check out Fred Meyer’s sometime soon! It’s been a while since I’ve been there. QFC is also a Kroger affiliate and it’s closer to my house so that’s why I go there instead.

      @@FrugalLifeThriftyWife the nearest QFC is all the way in Vancouver and that is a 30 mile drive for us. Sometimes we plan a day and do the "fun" stores like Uwajimaya, whole foods, new seasons... just for specialty things.

      I live outside of the Canby area, so my main stores are Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Mega Foods in Woodburn, Fred Meyers , and occasionally my husband and I head in to Winco or Costco for bulk / bigger shopping trips. We also go to the restaurant supply store in Clackamas. Out of all of these stores, I think Fred Meyers has the highest prices. We get an employee discount along with the sales , etc on the Safeway app so I tend to go there the most often. I love Grocery Outlet for snacks and cheese.

      We still have so much meat in the freezer from sales over the past few months that we didn’t really need to buy much meat in December. Happy new year to you too!

    Do you think it would be cheaper to make rolls or buy rolls?

    • @FrugalLifeThriftyWife
      @FrugalLifeThriftyWife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It probably would’ve been since I have the ingredients to make rolls at home. Sometimes getting them at the store on clearance is worth the price to save time 😊

      She doesn’t eat a ton, but she’s still in the family 😊. Plus for some of the items we buy she’s the only one eating them.
