Amazing hack. Love the richness and depth of the new locations and story. I like to imagine there's an alternate universe where this actually came out as the second 3D Mario game near the end of the N64's lifespan, when bigger cartridge space and the expansion pack allowed for higher resolution and polygon count etc.
Also kinda reminds me of the jump from Rayman 2 to Rayman 3, with the new powerups and increased playfulness.
