I personally rank the games by how much "heart" they have, I was surprised when I saw (I think) Chuggaconroy use the same word to describe what made 3 special. I think 1 is a great story very well told (Like Fullmetal Alchemist), Xenoblade 3 is the same but with a lot more heart, and then 2 has HEAPS of heart even if it's a lot less perfect. I like 1, I really like 3, and I love 2. And shoutouts to X which is also great, not sure if I like it more than 3 yet.
This game is absolutely phenomenal. A overwhelming amount of game content spanning over 1000 hours easily, A Fantastic Story, and an unforgettable cast of characters. Bravo.

Now that all of the critics, haters, and non-fans of Xenoblade have seen this trailer and left their sentiments in the comments, can we take a moment to observe all of the GOOD aspects that we've seen? 1.) The music is absolutely fantastic, and is very reminiscent of the original Xenoblade Chronicles. Seriously, check it out if you haven't. 2.) The voice acting is really good, save only a few of Rex's lines, which were the only ones acknowledged and harped on by the comments section. Once again, this is reminiscent of the original, which also had good/emotional voice acting. Examples from the trailer: "I won't use that power; and I won't let you use it either!", "What's the matter? Are you the Aegis or aren't you?!". 3.) All the characters seem dynamic and have great designs. Before you reply saying "except for Rex/Pyra", think about it. When the original Xenoblade revealed Shulk, everyone was saying that he was bland, your typical main character, and that he had a terrible design. He ended up being a spectacular, and might I add, dynamic character that was loved by all (most) who played the game. He was even put in Super Smash Bros. Look at the current situation; Its no different for Rex and Pyra, so stop complaining about the characters. I just wanted to point out the obvious strengths that this trailer demonstrates instead of scrutinizing every aspect of the trailer that even sheds a hint of inadequacy. I'm tired of sifting through the comments comprised of 90% people complaining about the voice acting, 6% people complaining about Pyra's design, 3.5% "Pyra thicc", and about 0.5% people looking forward to this game. Congrats to those of you who actually read this whole thing.
Spoilers for XC1 Fiora's design after becoming part mechon was good to be and Pyra's reminds me of it a little. I don't know why but it does, maybe it's the emblem on the chest? Anyway I actually liked the character designs and find the harping to be a little much, but I guess people forget the whole 'hope for the best' thing and just became super cynical about sequels for any beloved game.
I've got 210 hours on the game and I still enthusiastically switch the game on first thing every morning. One of the most enjoyable games I've ever played in my life, I love every character, every story, the combat, everything.

I loved Xenoblade 1 last year. I finished it and jumped right into Xenoblade 2, which I thought blew the first game out of the water. Loved it so much. Working on Xenoblade 3 now, also loving it so far, but I’ll see how I feel about it once I beat it as well as Future Redeemed.

I’ve read many game comments. XB2 is the only one that got many people say “this game CHANGED my life”. Most would say something like this game is the best game they played, but rarely say this game changed life.
Voice acting is British, but needs more "Reyn Time" and "Against the odds!" type lines. Watching the Xenoblade trailer, the voice acting was much more intense and full of life! This would could use some more oomph.

@@rabt5926 Yeah. I played Definitive Edition when it came out. While I really enjoyed it, I didn't have as much fun with it as I did playing Xenoblade 2. They're both great games, but Xenoblade 2 just clicked with me once I got the combat down. I wanted a long game to play during the Summer of 2018 and after hearing some of my favorite youtubers praise the game, I bought it on a whim. It took a bit of time to pick up and learn, but I'm so thankful I did. I'm hyped to be able to play Xenoblade 3 this summer! Probably won't have time to replay the first two games now though 😅

The definitive edition is a bit dated. Sidequests feel like single player mmorpg. XC2 improves that and most aspects. However, the first game still has a great story and of course it would be better to start the trilogy from the beginning.
@@zachapack4624I recommend starting with definitive edition and 3 if you don't plan to play them all. 2 is my favourite game in the series but it explains everything horribly so it's better to start with the others so you understand things like art combos that are in all of them. 2 is best played second but can be started with. 3 is like the culmination of the franchise and is best to play it first or last. There is some dlc called future redeemed and torna, play torna after xenoblade 2 and future redeemed after all 3 of the games. Even though it's a bad idea to start with it, 2 is an amazing game and is my favourite of all time. Do be warned that it has bad tutorials, bad navigation system and a very, very, very slow start but after the slow start it goes from mediocre to masterpiece.

It looks better than the realistic but low-res look of Xenoblade 1 and X. I think they should use the realistic style of the previous games for the X series while the main series would use the anime style, similar to how X was dubbed in American English but the mainline Xenoblade games were dubbed in British English.
yeah they approached the artists in this game and asked what they were good at and gave them the choice rather than telling them what to do which is really respectable not to mention the artstyle is really good at conveying emotions
It was hit and miss for the most part. like, some parts didn't match up to what the characters were expressing, Kinda felt like they just did one take of all the lines and call it a day. personally I wish Nia didn't have that welsh accent.
If it wasn't for the downloadable Japanese voice pack I wouldn't have taken the game's story seriously, and I would just constantly be laughing or cringing at the English voice dub!

The super cliched anime style feels pretty weird coming from the first game, which was much more realistic (to the extent that the Wii could make people look realistic). That and going with terrible british VAs again are huge steps backwards.
TBH during the gameplay it's not that noticeable and helps me keep track of everyone. Though due to being too anime they stand out too much. Their character models are too bright. In regards to cutscene it is way more anime than the last two game which is somewhat saddening as I liked the pseudo realistic-anime style. That and the voice actors need to be better, but at least they're still British

Dub isn't terrible, but I doubt any dub could hope to match the quality of the original Xenoblade. What matters is that I believe these 3D models are actually speaking the words.
They obviously didn't sync the audio or made an effort to for the trailer, in the actual game it will sound and look a lot better. They barely finished recording someone said at the treehouse so they had to add this in quickly.
Absolutely agree. Anybody with common sense should love this game for what it is, because it’s an amazing game. But unfortunately some people compare the artstyle to the first game and automatically call it bad, just because they can’t accept that it will be slightly different.

55 hours in currently in late 2022, I believe this game surpasses its predecessor and is nothing short of phenomenal.

I think people are too hard to anime desing. it looks good to me. Actually, I'm glad Nintendo decided to do it like this.
It looks better than the realistic but low-res look of Xenoblade 1 and X.
I think they should use the realistic style of the previous games for the X series while the main series would use the anime style, similar to how X was dubbed in American English but the mainline Xenoblade games were dubbed in British English.
yeah they approached the artists in this game and asked what they were good at and gave them the choice rather than telling them what to do which is really respectable
not to mention the artstyle is really good at conveying emotions
I can't wait until Xenoblade Chronicles 3 or Xenoblade Chronicles X2 gets announced.

for me there were some bad moments but he was mostly fantastic. also it wasnt his fault but the voice director
It was hit and miss for the most part. like, some parts didn't match up to what the characters were expressing, Kinda felt like they just did one take of all the lines and call it a day. personally I wish Nia didn't have that welsh accent.

If it wasn't for the downloadable Japanese voice pack I wouldn't have taken the game's story seriously, and I would just constantly be laughing or cringing at the English voice dub!

Looks really good. My only problems are the main character's voice and the character designs look out of place compared to everything else.
The super cliched anime style feels pretty weird coming from the first game, which was much more realistic (to the extent that the Wii could make people look realistic). That and going with terrible british VAs again are huge steps backwards.
TBH during the gameplay it's not that noticeable and helps me keep track of everyone. Though due to being too anime they stand out too much. Their character models are too bright. In regards to cutscene it is way more anime than the last two game which is somewhat saddening as I liked the pseudo realistic-anime style. That and the voice actors need to be better, but at least they're still British

all playstation jrpg have dual audio options and minimal censorship or no censorship at all, nintendo are a dinosaur, this is why i will import the japanese version (i am hungarian, and my japanese are almost as good as my engrish : )

There are many people who work in Monolith Soft that also worked at Squaresoft until they left the company after Xenogears was made.
Everyones producing open world games. Monolith Soft be like "Hold my bear" and then they make a bunch of open worlds all walking and flying around. Just the amount of epic story you could put into such a world is insane.

It's not that people don't like Rex's voice because it's British. They don't like it because it's a bad voice. Xenoblade 1 had amazing British voice acting.

How many new game plus's did you play I almost completed all mythra/pyra unlocks just one more playthrough if my switch didn't break I can't recover that switch account so I restarted my ns gc because I didn't by physical copy
@@zarephal4998 I have just played one new game plus to unlock all the rare blades. I've spent 355 hours on my save file. I do rewatch all the cutscenes once or twice a year. I am very excited for Xenoblade 3

Dub isn't terrible, but I doubt any dub could hope to match the quality of the original Xenoblade. What matters is that I believe these 3D models are actually speaking the words.
They obviously didn't sync the audio or made an effort to for the trailer, in the actual game it will sound and look a lot better. They barely finished recording someone said at the treehouse so they had to add this in quickly.
They said if they had 2 more weeks they would have had something better for the trailer done I believe.
This game may have gotten a lot of hate, but this is in my top 5 favorite games... ever.
Absolutely agree. Anybody with common sense should love this game for what it is, because it’s an amazing game. But unfortunately some people compare the artstyle to the first game and automatically call it bad, just because they can’t accept that it will be slightly different.

Yes! We got some British voice acting back! I had such a huge grin through this trailer. The main characters look incredible, I like Rex and Pyra's design together. I'm just so shocked that we are actually gonna play Xenoblade 2 this year!
