The fact that I've heard of people running her without a helmet to keep her hp low/s3 penetration high is proof of A. How far she's fallen B. How much copium is in the water.
Her barrier + no helmet is basically the same as just any other dps squishy HP that can 1 shot things. The main difference, however, is that hwa cannot crit which means she doesn't care about senya passive and is easier to gear than say ervalen or other nuker dmg heroes that NEED to crit to kill.
It's pretty much just like he said. Can't be drafted willy nilly and everywhere now, still does what she was meant to do. Only time he didn't at least come close to killing bulky units is when he didn't have attack buff as well. IF he got some decent Torrent gear she'd probably just go back to popping any and everyone
I imprinted her with a dupe a while ago so I recalled her to turn that into 1 slate and used the resources to literally build her back to what I had her with originally.
She is and will always be my favourite character and as a fellow southern girl I’ll keep her around just to hear her unique voice lines every once in a while. Rest in POV HwaYoung, died 2022.
People on copium will say “all you need is 7K atk, vigor, atk buff, +30 tooth, and use your S3 on someone without PoV and she still does decent damage”
I recalled her ONLY because I got a dupe one from the free 5* ticket. She's still one of my favorite designs in the game and will continue to use her. Even with worse stats than YD I can 1 shot things like Belian so it's fine copium.
The nerf might have been a bit too drastic from what I've seen. She seems a bit too niche at this point. Taking out specifically HP scaling tanks is a bit much. She should have some ability to deal with DEF scaling tanks too. Maybe giving her the ATK boost would help. I think the nerf to her S1 and S3 were good, but she could use a number tweak to make her a more general tank buster.
Honestly feel like just the S3 penetration ratio change and maybe the ATK decrease would have been enough. People (or at least I) didn't call her OP because she could one shot things it was because she one shot 95% of the units in the game while running around with 13-15k hp, a free shield, and innate 30% cdmg reduction. If you didn't have the resources or priority to build a couple of specific counters you would just lose vs. her almost always.
Torrent set reduces her Hp so she can reach the threshold with more ease while having more damage as well (10% per set). I am convinced this the way she should be used now.
Yup, and 3 torrent sets is 30% extra damage to counter PoV. SG was thinking a bit, but it will take forever to get good torrent sets. And by then, an A. Ravi counter will be released or she'll be nerfed too...
Don't regret her. Even on 9k HP with 6k+ atk it's hard to kill with her S3 and she dies any Choux because of lack of HP. Idk why I bothered farming her that set with copium on my mind that it'd make her stronger. She still need like 12k HP difference for full pen.
I don't regret recall Hwayoung for zahhak at all,she can't even oneshot violet,and zahhak just do everything better than her now,self cleanse+attack buff,cr push,even injury if it didn't kill
luckily got a hwa imprint from covenant so recalled her for a free Lua and got my hwa back, now they can sit together in waiting room while I play with my almost completely maxed out arunka, the only waifu of episode 4.
I didn't regret recalling her for Lua, she is too squishy now if you wanna oneshot units and if you're gonna give bulk to her it would sacrifice a lot of damage, sooo yeah she sucks to me now
She's still the most resilient one-shotter by a pretty sizable margin so you'd better not be using any one shotters if you have something against using squishies. And guys, there's a distinction between one shot dps and bruiser dps. Belian shouldn't exist but they didn't want to nerf the broken book (book provides, like, 10 actions' worth of tempo at no cost and obviously breaks the game) and e7's ignorant player base had expressed they'd rather have counter picks to nonsense than a remotely balanced game. So we got belian instead of any actual balancing act like the long overdue hwa nerf. We have to hope SG continues in the vein of balancing correctly bc hwa's nerf isn't enough nerf. An aravi nerf from the beginning would've prevented the hwa problem in the first place. It also would've given SG the opportunity to give units like yulha, taeyou, and sharun real kits instead of the ones they're stuck with that don't do anything.

Shes a single target DPS that can only kill specific targets. Why would you use her? Cidd can kill things more reliably then her rofl with half the souls needed. Cidd, Luna, Watcher, LQC, all real single targets that will do what needs to be done. Girl couldn't kill T. Crozet or Edward freaking Elric. The guy that uses HP as damage like come on
She's now an actually balanced unit, meant to kill tanks and still has her barrier and crit reduction to stay alive but apparently this community calls anything not broken "trash". I don't understand. They complain when a character is too strong but they also complain when they're not too strong :/
Honestly if they want to keep random dual attacks this bad, i feel like a good way to implement them would be to have it a meter, that gets filled whenever a hero does s1, each hero could fill the meter in different percentages, and then when its full you know a dual attack is coming but then make it pick a random person to dual attack with. That could be an interesting way imo

The only way to make her kill bruisers like Alencia,senya is for her to have less hp so basically have to use torrent sets
Senya has 15k to 18k HP. You are not killing that with Hwayoung unless you somehow drop your HP down to 7k.
