What an absolute gem of a human being. This is my first introduction to Shane Torres but I intend on fully support his craft moving forward. I can relate to a lot of what he talked about. It take a REAL ONE to be this open and honest about how brutal life can be. Thanks Ryan! This was such a great episode. Even if you got me crying in my cheerios on this fine friday afternoon. 😂
This episode is why I always come back. Yes you’re both comedians, but you’re people first. And it is super nice to just “sit at the table” and “have a chat” with ya’ll!
If that letter and ring aren't motivation to get up and keep doing, I don't know what is. I hope you frame that. Powerful moment man! Thanks for sharing Your special was great! I watched it months ago and shared it along
I’m Mexican American from same hometown and no in the eighties parents didn’t teach their kids Spanish my dad had such a hard time at work Racism him and mom didn’t even try to teach us I learned later Shane is the man luv you buddy 👏👏👏
I’m sorry for your loss Shane. I’m sorry for your loss to Ryan. Thank you for sharing your story Shane. Hit me in my heart. Very heavy episode. Stay awesome guys!
Great episode!! Shane: thank you for sharing, it is definitely difficult to watch it end. Big ups Shane! Thank you both for all you do and your willingness to be so vulnerable
Great to see Shane on one of my favourite podcasts. And my particularly favourite podcast for getting to know a guest because of how good Ryan and his format is as a host. Shane sticks out in my mind positively because I got to see him live in the 3 Arena in Dublin last year opening for Bert and he was very funny. I'd never seen him in my life before that and never forgot how he mentioned his Mother is from my home country in Ireland. A lot of Americans say they're Irish or their parent is Irish when they are absolutely not. But he told the truth. I wish the best for him in his future.
Shanes been around recently. Loved watching him learn how to golf with country club adjacent. He won! 😂 Also Shane if your reading this my mom passed away when i was 6 and only had my grandmother as a motherly figure, she was a Saint. I've got 3 kids now and it's my favorite thing about life and my father raised me mostly on his own.
Lost my father almost 2 years ago this April. Really worried about losing my mom. I sat by my father's side until the end. I didn't want to but I owed him that much. The last part of this episode it be pretty hard.
Damn, Ryan. I’m fully expecting to hear Shane: don’t do this to me, man Ryan: it’s not your fault Shane: not you man, don’t do this Ryan: it’s not your fault
I rushed to the hospital when my grandmother had a heart attack unfortunately she passed literally less than five minutes before we got there and the one thing that I have burned in my mind is the fact that they had taken away all the life saving equipment ventilator etc..my grams mouth was like wide open and I just remember trying to get it to close and stay that way but in the end no link
Holy Hell this was obviously released entirely too long after it was taped!… Shane was trying to promote a special that was “Dropping December 10th” (future tense) on a pod released Feb 13th😮
awww Ryan... that stinks about how you felt about the ET tube... unfortunately we have to leave the tube in just incase the family wants an autopsy : ( someone should've explained that to you...
Shane would do well writing a book. I know he's shared a lot over the years in separate stories and shows, but he's not super well known. More people are finally catching on, and they haven't heard all the 'fam'ectdotes.
To there credit? I think parents should discuss the things that are wrong in front of the family leaving no questions or misconception. Have some balls. If you can't say it in front of the kids then you should let it go. Forgive.
Love the episode. But I gotta say the constant total silence pauses made me think I had a phone call coming in, lost signal or my headphones died. It’s rough to feel that 100x in an episode.
Reliving the lowest points of your life in front of the world isn't typically easy. Especially if it's things you've done your best to block out for decades. Shane was having very emotional moments and almost crying many times. Maybe stop and see him as a human and not an entertainer for a moment?
Hey Ryan, how bout you have Tom on here to discuss how he went from a great comedian with an amazing podcast to acting like a typical rich frat boy having a midlife crisis? Get to the root cause for him turning ymh to complete shit. Or just have Nadav on so we can actually hear the truth instead of tom trying to promote his shitty rich celebrity vodka brand
I love this podcast, but I couldn’t listen to this one. Shane had to say like, then pause four to five times every sentence because he just couldn’t string his memories together.
I like Shane, but his hurky jurky speech cadence in this interview is driving me up a wall. Spit it out, bro!!!! The dude is a professional speaker and uses the word "like" as though it's punctuation. You're better than this, Shane
Out of the gate this guy one of us have heard of is plugging our humble he is while at the same time saying his special is essentially better than anything out there. Right….
Anyone who would help move their father into a homeless shelter instead of helping them out is fucking garbage!! Lmao If you think it was your dad that didn't figure out life I think you're mistaken. Family is everything the only reason you're here is because of them. Their is almost nothing my immediate family could do that would make me leave them.
Shane-TY for being vulnerable and telling your story. That was powerful. Sickler is a GREAT interviewer, he lets the guest lead the conversation.
These podcast mean everything to me. Thank you Ryan and thank you Shane
This episode is why I always come back. Yes you’re both comedians, but you’re people first. And it is super nice to just “sit at the table” and “have a chat” with ya’ll!
Mr Sickler Ty for introducing Shane to us,and letting him speak. Great episode.
Check out the podcast he does with Kinane called No Accounting For Taste. It's good
Love seeing Shane on podcasts. I have watched the special a few times now and it still has me cracking up.
If that letter and ring aren't motivation to get up and keep doing, I don't know what is. I hope you frame that. Powerful moment man! Thanks for sharing
Your special was great! I watched it months ago and shared it along
This was the BEST HoneyDew I have seen. So much love and appreciation to you both!
cancelled my therapy session. and fully subscribed to Dr. Sickler's monthly PATREON
Shane is one of my favourite comics. He's got a lot of style. I'd love to see him working in Australia some time.
I’m Mexican American from same hometown and no in the eighties parents didn’t teach their kids Spanish my dad had such a hard time at work Racism him and mom didn’t even try to teach us I learned later Shane is the man luv you buddy 👏👏👏

Great episode!! Shane: thank you for sharing, it is definitely difficult to watch it end. Big ups Shane!
Thank you both for all you do and your willingness to be so
vulnerable
I've seen clips of the this for years, such a great comic. My heart goes out to you Shane.
damn that part about his family being tethered together in the ocean at night is some serious stuff
Damn! Got me crying at work. Great episode.
About time Ryan, Shane's the best and great stories 😊
Thank you for this one. Got me crying at work tho😅. My mother was a single parent, and a nurse for 30+ years
I love shane, and it’s endearing that he pauses every 10 seconds and reboots lol. Kudos for thinking before you speak brotha, bert should take notes 😂
Great episode Ryan and Shane..appreciate you guys and the vulnerability

What a sweet guy. Gunna check out more of his stuff!
Beautiful episode with beautiful people!
This one got me. Waited until the end to bring up his mom, sneaky.
Morning everyone, I hope you are all well and if you’re not a big fucking hug to you, it’s Wednesday half the battle is over!
It's Toosdey my guy!
Love You Shane Love You Sicky, THANKS FOR YOUR HEARTS!!
Shane talking about his Mom got me. 😢
Lost my father almost 2 years ago this April. Really worried about losing my mom. I sat by my father's side until the end. I didn't want to but I owed him that much. The last part of this episode it be pretty hard.
Fantastic guest! Thanks Ryan!
Great episode Ryan thanks for getting me to forget dump Sunday damn niners
This was definitely recorded "wayback" congrats on the special Shane!
Damn, Ryan. I’m fully expecting to hear
Shane: don’t do this to me, man
Ryan: it’s not your fault
Shane: not you man, don’t do this
Ryan: it’s not your fault
Shane hugs to you. Grief definitely ebbs and flows.
It's crazy how much I can relate to his dad 😅😎
Great one. Like to see them keep flushing this out.
Happy Tuesday ( in Ryan’s voice ) 😂😂
Toosdee
Irish Mexican here, first name Shane… cant speak Spanish either.. friends always said I was a fake Mexican 😂
And thats exactly what my dad said in WV.. they were told they would speak English and not Spanish so he never picked it up
Excellent episode. I fucking love you Sickler, I love you Shane. I love this show.
Tough listening to him describe his mother dying. I love this podcast, it can have hilarious moments and real moments
Beautiful episode! Would love to see Chris Titus on here sometime
The way Ryan said “They?! Did they die together?” Reminded me of a teacher saying “it’s MAY I use the restroom, not can I” 😂
Damn man what an intense pod, ryan is the best
25:45…”Ya, he’s shooting blanks right now so”
Saw Shane once at the Denver Comedy works, very funny.
Yes, hopefully we get Ryan on No Accounting for Taste.
Best podcast hands down
Seen Shane in Glasgow opening for Bert. He's hilarious
Holy Hell this was obviously released entirely too long after it was taped!…
Shane was trying to promote a special that was “Dropping December 10th” (future tense) on a pod released Feb 13th😮
Crying every episode man.
awww Ryan... that stinks about how you felt about the ET tube... unfortunately we have to leave the tube in just incase the family wants an autopsy : ( someone should've explained that to you...
Deep episode man
Y'all, if you haven’t seen Shane's special yet, go watch it! Funniest standup I've seen in awhile
Morning ya'll.
This sucks dude. I don’t know how to help. Love you boo
If you haven't yet check out his special. Never seen this side of him. Thank you sickelcell. Fuck the crab feast (5 stars)
So relatable
These two could be siblings with all of their similarities, especially similar mannerisms
Shane would do well writing a book. I know he's shared a lot over the years in separate stories and shows, but he's not super well known. More people are finally catching on, and they haven't heard all the 'fam'ectdotes.
Had to take $20 out for gas lmao.
Love it
Why do they call it liberty township? It's westchester.
To there credit? I think parents should discuss the things that are wrong in front of the family leaving no questions or misconception. Have some balls. If you can't say it in front of the kids then you should let it go. Forgive.
He was just saying they didn't bitch about each other in front of them
I was going to skip this one, but damnit Im glad I didnt. Shane is so cool.
Love the episode. But I gotta say the constant total silence pauses made me think I had a phone call coming in, lost signal or my headphones died. It’s rough to feel that 100x in an episode.
I think everyone uses "like" too much as a means of gathering/collecting their thoughts but this was brutal.
No hate, but the amount of likes in this video is insane 😂
take a shot whenever he says like, you will be drunk for 4 years
Thanks, Sickler!
Is that my old neighbor Rudy's uncle
Man if Shane and Kelsey Cook don't know each other's stories somebody get them a good bottle of scotch and a 3 show tour on a bus.💔❤️
SOUNDS LIKE YOURE DAD SHOULDVE BEEN ON SSI & MADE ART🤔 LIKE ME😂🤣😭
Shane looks like Dime bag
❤
Go watch his special! Saw him opening for Brent Chrysalis and he killed!!!!!!
I almost didn't watch this week, because I'm not a huge fan of Shane's work, but damn....
❤❤❤
You should have Chris webby on the show.
Fuck the crabfeast!! I would like to know what advice Ryan would give to a 16 year old now in life ??
i like shane but he pauses way too much.
I had a hard time following this, Shane is not the best at telling a story

@@jallee7488 who said I'm upset? I'm just stating facts
A podcast has you this worked up? You know you don’t have to watch any of their content right?😂
I love this podcast, but I couldn’t listen to this one. Shane had to say like, then pause four to five times every sentence because he just couldn’t string his memories together.
