My guess for the next 5 guitars, not in order: Prince - Electromatic Tom Morello - Drop D Guitar Pete Townsend - '52 Telecaster George Harrison - Rosewood Tele Jimmy Page - Dragon Telecaster
@@jaronsimon5816 Les Paul is my favorite guitar model as well. But the simplicity, vibe and construction of a tele makes it a man's guitar in my opinion.
No sorry you got that wrong, one of the things that people say about the Les Paul is that it makes you work for the notes, the Tele does not do that. I am mainly a Les Paul guy but recently have purchased two Tele's and I love them. I would play a Tele over a Strat any day of the week! I like how Fender has come out with a Tele that is obviously meant to lure Les Paul players. It's layout is identical to the Les Paul only it has the Tele body and neck. I am currently customizing a Gibson Firebird Zero and it came with just a wrap around tailpiece. I am removing that and was going to go to either the usual bridge and tail piece set up or use a string through design. The other night I got the idea to use a Tele style bridge on this and am thinking of making it more of a Tele/Firebird hybrid, I think it will come out nicely.
Albert Collins tele was not a Custom...it was a standard tele modified with a humbucker (how he bought it)... and binding when he had it refinished in Los Angeles...old pictures show this...plus I asked him!
I'd put Jonny's in the top 5 next to Springsteen's Esquire, George Harrison's Rosewood, Jim Root's sig, and Jimmy Page's Dragon. Honorable mention for Jack White's blue custom shop with the Dimarzios, the Bigsby, and the armrest.
I'd heard Francis' tele had a hole in in because he bought it from a pub (or venue) that had it bolted on the wall for decoration... Also, Tom Morello's Sendero Luminoso Tele better be in pt. 2!
I always played Ibanez because satriani played one. I bought an affinity tele and modded it into a Nashville tele, then bought the modern player plus-ssh, then a Schecter sun valley pt fr( super tele), and in Dec 2023 a fender player plus. There’s something very special about a tele. The tone of the lipstick neck pickup, the twang of the bridge, it’s just magic
I was hearing about Roy Buchanan in 1967 through Dominic Troiano and Robbie Robertson. Guitar nerds in my hometown were ranting and raving about this guy from the States who could make his Telecaster whistle and cry, and all were in awe. We learned the mysteries of turning your amp around and miking it through the P.A. to eliminate the dreaded Tele squeal (microphonic feedback from the bridge pickup), but even more esoterically, how to dip the bridge pickup in hot liquid paraffin to put an end to that squeal once and for all. Nearly occult, that last one.
Albert Collins' Tele was a standard blond Tele he bought second hand with the humbucker already in place, that he had refinished and BOUND a few years later after much wear. Not a Telecaster Custom.
Right, Kirk Hammett Beat John 5 to that guitar by nearly 20 years. Clearly seen on the Cunning Stunts dvd Kirk has a plexi glass tele made by ESP with blue liquid in it.
Roy Buchanan , Mike Bloomfield , jim weider , james burton , jeff Beck , jimmy briant , jim campilongo , steve cropper ,jerry Donahue , danny gatton , wilko johnson , albert lee , brent mason , Arlen roth 🙄🙄🙄
The fact that he left out Dan Auerbach recording the first 4 Black Keys albums on a Tele in his basement and single handedly resurrecting the blues rock genre should be an ARRESTABLE OFFENSE
I love my Nashville Deluxe Tele! I think my next one would be '72 Deluxe style and then eventually a butterscotch blackguard. Although I really like Tele's and wouldn't stop there haha! Great video man! I have to agree with your assessment of John 5... The absolute authority on Telecasters! :)
I'm glad that Billy Gibbons is not on this list. He's keeping all the old ones just for him! How selfish is that? Just because he has money. Probably he's gonna end up in the next part, right?
You shouldn't give musicians anything until their 28th birthday; as a way to celebrate NOT becoming members of the 27 Club. Rossi must be the slowest painter in history. Or was he simply unlucky enough to begin painting his Tele 10 minutes before he got the call? Some people call the Tele a man's guitar. I call it a lumberjack's guitar. The Tele is the first great guitar I played way back in 1967. I have more Teles than any other type. I would have loved to be a lumberjack and hack out Teles from giant trees all the live long day.
I was all about maple fingerboard Strats when I was young but somehow I've ended up with several rosewood Teles in my old(er) age... I loves me my Teles!
LOL, "The blistering solos of nick Jonas" was hilarious.
Too funny!!! What better piece to define his legacy!
Johnny greenwood is part of the reason I started playing guitar, and most of the reason why I have teles.
Same
same here, he's a genius with that guitar
My guess for the next 5 guitars, not in order:
Prince - Electromatic
Tom Morello - Drop D Guitar
Pete Townsend - '52 Telecaster
George Harrison - Rosewood Tele
Jimmy Page - Dragon Telecaster
U got Jimmy Page's Dragon Tele and George's Rosewood Tele right
Micawber should have been #1. Also should have included Waylon Jennings' leather covered Telecaster.
Keith Richards is one of the main reasons I bought a 53 reissue Tele.
telecaster, by itself, is the main and only reason why i own three tele's.....
A strat or an LP are beautiful guitars to look at and are amazing.
But a tele, is a man's guitar
Sandesh Rai Koirala To each his own. I think Slash would have something to say on your opinion.
Jaron Simon slash is a joke
Jeremy Oliver Slash is a household name and a millionare. You’re still at the bottom of the barrel.

what about steve morse's tele when he played with the dixie dregs back in the 70's??????
That low E string tuner on Keith Richards' Telecaster is me when we were working on our thesis project.
useless
please don't forget the silver sparkle of Don Rich's bound telecaster that he played with Buck Owens and the Buckeroo's in the 60's
June - "Don had some technique . . ." quote from the great Roy Nichols ;) Peace (but then so did Roy ;)
Status Quo kept the Tele in the spotlight...it's the reason I bought a telecaster in the first place
yep
Just waiting for George Harrison's Rosewood Telecaster!!!
Keith Richards's
Eddie Vedder's
Telecasters have got to be the most attractive guitars ever dreamt up & made....!
I'd heard Francis' tele had a hole in in because he bought it from a pub (or venue) that had it bolted on the wall for decoration...
Also, Tom Morello's Sendero Luminoso Tele better be in pt. 2!
I always wanted a Paisley Tele back in the early 90's but when my bandmate bought the blue flower one I stuck with my vintage white guitar.

That hole in Rossi's Tele is in the perfect place for installing a B-bender. I wonder if he'd planned to make this mod as well...
so damn happy you put quo in this list! one, if not the most iconic Tele in my eyes!!
Hello! Waylon's leatherclad tele?
Here because I bought an American Professional Series II Telecaster and can’t stop playing it.
Loving these videos Joe 👌 now I need a tele in my life
Albert Collins' Tele was a standard blond Tele he bought second hand with the humbucker already in place, that he had refinished and BOUND a few years later after much wear. Not a Telecaster Custom.
How is Micawber not #1?
James Burton thought the paisley too 'Blingy' for Elvis. That is funny.
Francis Rossi himself has said the hole was to run the cable through.
Great video!
Such a great video!
What about Waylon Jennings’s tele?
Master of The Telecaster Was Danny Gatton. Am I going to have to correct every entry in this video??
Noel Gallagher has a pink paisley Telecaster with the regular pickguard swapped out with a white pickup.
Right, Kirk Hammett Beat John 5 to that guitar by nearly 20 years. Clearly seen on the Cunning Stunts dvd Kirk has a plexi glass tele made by ESP with blue liquid in it.
I always liked John 5's pickup choice for his 2006 Signature Model with the Twisted Tele Neck and Hot Rails Bridge.
I play a MIJ "Micawber" inspired tele , an amazing guitar!! Yet, I looking for a replica of Muddy Waters' 1960 Tele!!
Sam Sernavski I’m looking at buying one of those!
@@pookachu64 I'm selling mine , if you interested?
how is Keith's tele not no 1 ???? When I think of guitars, I think of Lucile, Micawber, and Trigger. Blues, Rock and Country
When John 5’s lava lamp i thought about Kirk hammet’s wavecaster
Everyone forgets about the wavecaster since it was so long ago.
Roy Buchanan , Mike Bloomfield , jim weider , james burton , jeff Beck , jimmy briant , jim campilongo , steve cropper ,jerry Donahue , danny gatton , wilko johnson , albert lee , brent mason , Arlen roth 🙄🙄🙄
Only one telecaster for me! Billy Gibbons “Jesus Left Chicago” some people get techy it’s not a tele it’s a broadcaster
Ha!!! The blistering solos of Nick Jonas 1:11
I literally just clicked on this video to see where Jonny Greenwood landed on the list.
Great video, keep it up
The fact that he left out Dan Auerbach recording the first 4 Black Keys albums on a Tele in his basement and single handedly resurrecting the blues rock genre should be an ARRESTABLE OFFENSE
Keith should be number one. Francis Rossi’s Telecaster is not above Keith’s.
I’ve had mad GAS for a Tele. This has decided it haha
So we're just gonna forget about the guitar that killed folk (aka Mike Bloomfield's Telecaster)
where is waylon jennings tele?
This guy kicks ASS!
I usually HATE Brittany accents.
Love this dude!
Different NRG💡
Shocked micawber was only number 7
the lava one looks so beautiful
Nice shirts and mustache, I like your style.
The graham coxon tele is pretty fucking legendary.
Please do one with strats
The rooftop session is when George Harrison used one
And all throughout the Get Back/Let It be sessions plus Abbey road
It took you ten minutes to do five guitars. What would Hemingway think? "Get to the point,"
would be my guess.
I'm glad that Billy Gibbons is not on this list. He's keeping all the old ones just for him! How selfish is that? Just because he has money. Probably he's gonna end up in the next part, right?
My mahogany thin-line, takes it all😎
I'd put James Burton's Pink Paisley at Number 1
I dropped mine down a giant flight of stairs Infront of my band accedentaly. it was still in tune. It's a minor legend
I thought this was griff rhyss jones from 'not the 9 o' clock news' at first... :)
Where is Roy Buchanan’s Nancy Tele?
I like it glow in the dark color?my bullet awesome sounds
Albert Collins is the master of the telecaster......shees

Burton but not Reggie Youngs tele???
Telecaster
This is what I always a review with telecaster by someone different. Phillip Austin
Jimmy Page Stairway to Heaven
Keef's guitar should be #1...
You know there are some pretty famous Country Music Teles as well, not all great guitarist play rock and roll.
Indisputably?
Yes the lava lamp tele
Cornell Dupree's Tele is worth checking out, it had a DeArmond pickup in the middle position IIRC.
Ok British McLovin
I‘m terribly grossed out by that one roy buchanan album cover 😂
Courtney Barnett,, hell yeah.
No shit he is a guitar nerd!🤣🤣🤣😜🤣😊 Awsome vid dude
John 5 is a very good guitarist and a weird looking eccentric.
Joe strummer
Cant forget Jack White
rick danners sunburst tele !
if Prince's Madcat Hohner Telecaster isnt #1, this list is wrong....period
Mike Campbell from Tom Petty
Prince’s MadCat should be #1
i was looking for this comment... there is no other possible choice for #1... i bought one in October 2018, and now my Strat collects dust
Bruce Springsteen.
Broadcaster/ tele hybrid.
I think I'm becoming a tele guy
You made me mad, you did not mention Merle Haggard and I hate you for it.
Speaking of Roy, found out that my criminal justice teacher is the guy who arrested him the day he died
Tell him I said he's a dick!
I hope Prince is on the next list. Or I’m done lol
Clarence White???
#7?
slipknot uses a telecaster
lol, don't drink and drill
Waylon Jennings)
come on, everyone knows Danny Gatton is the telemaster
darkestfuge - technically maybe, musically no way! Peace.
Francis Rossi.
I was all about maple fingerboard Strats when I was young but somehow I've ended up with several rosewood Teles in my old(er) age... I loves me my Teles!
Why did they even invent other guitars?
Andy Summers scar inspired badly modified....??? WTF are you talking about?!
Coulda substituted Keith Richards for AVRIL LAVIGNE???
AVRIL FRIKKIN' LAVIGNE?????
Who can't even PLAY a guitar???
Gimme a BREAK!!
