actually straightening out the arms relaxes the muscles and his were always tense. when doing exercise, and resistance comes up, your trainer will tell you to keep the muscle tense by not straightening your arms or legs but to leave them shy of being straight. he should have gone up a little higher though.

actually, its naturally harder for women to do pushups because they have wider hips than men, which adds on to the weight that they have to push up. not to mention that men naturally have more muscle mass than women.
