Thanks for the interview. Tiaan Strauss was one of my boyhood heroes too. He was always one of the toughest players on the field.

Tiaan Strauss, Danie Gerber and Cricketer Adrian Kuiper were my child-hood hero’s back in the early 90s …

I would have liked to have heard more about his years playing league. While there have been some terrific backs who made the switch, off the top of my head I can't think of any forwards as good as Strauss to have converted (not saying that there weren't any, just that I'm not thinking of them).

Very popular guy! I never realised how short his Bok career was though!

I was at Newlands the day Province played a Boks XV when the '95 World Cup squad was going to be announced that evening. The morning of the game the papers disclosed that Tiaan was not going to be selected for the 95 RWC. Never has any 'visiting' team been booed like the Boks were that day. Newlands was absolutely hostile and outraged at what all Province fans felt was a great injustice

From a Province supporter, I always thought Tiana deserved more Bok caps.

I was amazed to see how few tests he actually played for the Boks!

Kitch Christie - Eliminated most of the Natal & WP guys, for his Transvaal team & Bias.

@@WalterWhite-sm2drI agree but tgeir is no doubt that Pienaar was probably the worst 6 ever to play for the Springboks.
