i think you explain things well but when you said "ok and here it is" then it just zoomed in on your face and you couldnt actually see the trick so that was confusing
Hi! It's called a Cat Eye because this was originally a poi move that we have translated for hoopers. When doing a cat eye with poi, the poi heads create a cat eye shaped pattern. This image is different with hoops because they are circular and it ends up floating up and down in one column in the vertical plane.
I think people are confused because this is not the basic cat eye. A cat's eye is almond shape. That means the cat eye hoop or poi move moves from side-to-side. This is an up and down "cat eye" because it uses the same technique, only it is up and down rather than side-to-side. It is a variation, not the basic move. (Though, maybe it is the cat eye of a cat laying on its side. ;^)

+Maggie only those cheap ones from Walmart! If you get a nice polypro or HDPE off Etsy, they have nothing inside. If there is something inside the hoop, it will throw off the balance. I've been hooping for over 6 years now and those hoops with stuff inside of them are just so awful!
