  • It was a great day for flying in the cockpit of the Cessna 340. Today 340 Vol Wife is riding along with me. She explains how flying isn't the most comfortable thing for her but she does like the convenience of it. She hasn't been up in a month or so so she wanted to get up in the air to keep it familiar. We rode just beneath the clouds, skimmed across the tops of clouds and popped-in and popped out of a few clouds. As usual, she had some very funny, off-the-cuff, comments and it was a beautiful day in the air over west Tennessee.

    I stumbled onto one of your videos, and now I'm checking them all out!! Subscribed and liked, the whole 9. Fan of aviation, and I enjoy watching your content.
    No drama, no over talking, no hubla. Just videos of you flying, and awesome views of the landscape. Awesome stuff sir!

    My best time in clouds was circling ORD in July. It was like flying in the eye of a hurricane. We were inside a huge opening in the clouds. We saw maybe 3 other airliners circling with us. Zero turbulence, just nice and smooth Nascar left hand turns.

    I'm very blessed as my wife loves riding along as well. She too is more of a fair weather flyer, and that's fine with me. Once we are airborne, she's got her book out and is reading or watching a video and completely content. I get to enjoy what i like to do, fly. So it's a win win. Thanks for your videos.

      Yes, we’ll both count ourselves as lucky. She usually likes to sit in the back with no headset, and away from all of the Avionics.

    You produce excellent content that is very professional in presentation. Looking into a partnership with other airline pilots for a reasonably priced personal transport. The 340 seems to be the best choice for four person or less transport out west where we all live. Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you very much. Yes, I think the 340 is perfectly suited for the four or less people category. Thanks for watching. Fly safe.

    Happy anniversary! Why is it called VOL?

    • @340VolPilot
      @340VolPilot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you and I’m glad you asked. Vol is a tip of the hat to the University of Tennessee. They are the Volunteers (or Vols) and Tennessee is called the Volunteer state. Thanks for watching.

    Happy Anniversary! Reminds me of how lucky I am that my wife not only loves flying, but she loves turbulence.

    It’s nice to see fellow Vol’s and pilots flying. I spent some time in Dyersburg back I the late 70’s. Was friends with some folks there. At UTK I taught flying over at Island home for a couple of years. Escaped from UT in 1980 and flew NAVY. Go Vol’s!

      Go Vols! That’s what I’m talking about! We probably knew / know some of the same folks from Dyersburg. Where do you fly out of now?

      I knew the Noonan sisters in D-Burg. Now fly mostly in Colorado and Arizona flying our T-34B, and being a flight instructor and DPE. UT Class of 1980, Business

      That's great. They grew up two streets over. Small world and getting smaller every day.

      @@340VolPilot Wow! That IS a small world! Sally and Debbie… met them at Sophie’s in Strong Hall in the Spring of ‘77, with my buddy, Chuck from Clement. The six-degrees of separation scenario has followed me for years. For my entire life, I have run into folks all over the world with some sort of connection to my past or present. Just today, I ran into a realtor who knew people that I knew 40 years ago in New Orleans.
