Season One and Two are masterpieces executed differently. I think a lot of viewers just didn't know how to adjust and give proper attention. And I for one am here for shows that demand more from their audience than many can give. Hopefully, they find it aspirational rather than complaining ;)
Agreed. That said with the blu-ray announced I hope the pacing gets a bit of a do-over. The thing about subtexts is that you want to let it sit, but with the scope of season 2 that was simply not possible. Also they said they cut out like 1 hour of content between Timebomb to fit into the Netflix schedule, and that's honestly devastating.
Ironically, the use of subtext is why the wider audience gained from season one didn't like season two...point and case, Jinx's arc ending. People didn't get it and then when it was spelled out for them, they didn't like it because it wasn't spelled out for them...even though, as you pointed out, it wasn't subtle, lol.
I loved season one...season two less so (probably could have used a couple more eps). Even with its faults i consider Arcane to be a masterpiece of cinema.
Great analysis video of Arcane! I really like the amount of subtext the creators put into the show, it makes re-watching the show very enjoyable since I'm able to catch more details I didn't notice before. I also like playing League and watching Arcane, so I guess I'm getting the best of both worlds. ^_^
I started Arcane because of videos I saw of jinx and because everyone talked about it. I knew nothing about LOL so it was a new world for me. Jinx did not disapoint I became obsessed with her, my heart broke for her and I want to know more about her. Sadly i only really cared about the other characters when they interacted with jinx. (Vi & jinx/powder, caitlyn & jinx, isha & jinx, ekko & jinx/powder...). But by themselves or with other characters I couldn't get invested in them. There were so many side storys and they only got a little screentime. I still want another season😢 Also The magic in arcane really confused me, so I only really understood what jayce's issue was with the arcane at the end😅. The other storylines weren't bad, they just weren't as unique and interesting, so that I could not get invested in them. I still would like another season. I might be the only one who things like this, so pls don't hate me 😂
Absolute cinema (but they could’ve executed s2 a little better) if it was as great as s1 it could be even considered the best series ever made overally.
Agreed. I suspect the blu-ray release will solve most of the issues of s2. But it would have been great if those issues didn't become issues in the first place.
I'm a bit sad that they didn't quite manage to recapture the magic of Season 1 again. Season 1, like Season 1 Jinx according to SIlko, was perfect. But Season 2 went for a grand, far more action centric spectacle and the characters and plot both suffered immensely for it... If they had managed to continue along in the same vein as Season 2, then I would have agreed with your title, but as it stands, I fear that they tried a bit too hard to deliver the edgy arty storyline that strayed too far from the humanity of season 1 that made it such an incredible piece of animation. Not to say that S2 didn't have some killer spots, like End of Ep6 and EP7 but the rest kinda left me feeling a bit cold since I find it hard to relate to gods, full scale war and seemingly 50 characters all vying for screen time.
If Riot created new IP based on their new animation pipeline, if they brought this gorgeous world to a game -- and make it optionally support VR -- I would play the living ish out of it.
The MMO actually had a dev update recently, they said they had to scratch most of the projects and redo it 😭 Can't believe GTA VI is actually gonna come out before league MMO
Great vid, hope you get to do a follow up, s2 felt off, it was not as bad as GoT but obviously the writers ego tripped and shoe horned the timetravel multiverse salad after the fact, on what was a very grounded show until that point, subbed!
I'll probably make a few shorts on season 2 but generally yes. The whole season apart from the last episode felt like trying to take in a beautiful sunset whilst sitting on a roller coaster. The scope of the show was too big for its own good, and I feel like the problems could be solved quite easily with just 1 extra episode per arc. That said what's done is done and with the news of the blu ray on the horizon I hope we get to see season 2 the way the team intended it to be.
Season one is a work of art, the mona lisa of animation. Season two is like someone tried to paint the mona lisa from memory but completely forgot what made the original so great. It ended up looking like the painting mr . bean ruined.
This is so true. So many aspects of Season 2 are flawed. The pacing, the subplots that have no bearing on the story, the subplots that are milked again this season and little to no explanation of what is happening
Kinda. S2 is definitely a step down from S1. The writing and pacing was a lot more inconsistent, and they ended up fumbling some of my favorite themes and characters from the first season. But even with all its flaws, S2 still has quite a few impressive moments that were worth experiencing.
Season 2 has a lot better visuals and soundtracks! It is just a bit rushed, I think they had to compress a possible 3rd season to just 2. But if you re-watch it, or watch explanation for the things you didn't get, everything is gets settled down.

In short, YES, every second of this show is worth it,
Awesome video btw
Great video ❤
It's that good
It really is
I loved season one...season two less so (probably could have used a couple more eps). Even with its faults i consider Arcane to be a masterpiece of cinema.
Didn’t even realise this is a video from a channel with 50 subscribers.
Really great quality
Dope a$$ essay. Entertaining + thoughtful
really just called me out at the start, damn.
The frame with ugly cait paired with the scream had me in tears

this videos editing was so good, hilarious. Also it was extremely engaging until the counter showed up lmao
Lol I might actually just have the Minecraft gameplay be there for the entire video next time
No. It’s even better. And the More you think and learn about it, the better it gets.
THE MUSIC!!
Most of the BGM are from Riot 'Sessions'! They kinda just gave it out for anyone to use 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Thank you Riot Games
can moonton make a show like that?
Way underrated channel, this deserves 100k views at least
Season 2 is extremely overrated, but would still recommend it
criminally low views. brother gonna get big soon. fantastic vid
This was very well done and funny. Thanks bro.
Fastest I've tapped the sub button after a very startled realisation I got suckered into watching the entire video. Good stuff, man, keep this up.
Really good rambling 😊

for a channel with only 11 subs, your production quality is really great! keep it up man
Tysm!

Imo Jinx is the best written character of the decade if not oat
Ok' you amaze me. This video is nice
Is it like your first video in 3 years and suddenly TH-cam decided to recommend it to me?
I know not the grand plan of the almighty algorithm 🙏🏻
Its a very good video i like it a lot
Tysm!

Season two is like someone tried to paint the mona lisa from memory but completely forgot what made the original so great. It ended up looking like the painting mr . bean ruined.
Season two increased the scope and changed up the pacing to match. It works wonderfully and simply demands greater attention from its audience.
I have never seen someone so confidently incorrect in my life
@@daniellins4114 You don't own a mirror?
@@handlesareobnoxious wasn't looking at it when I wrote this, so I stand corrected

Yeeeeeessssss
Short answer: Season 1 - yes. Season 2 - no.
season 2 it's still a masterpiece, just a flawed one. it was rushed and there were some moments that felt out of character. but overall it was great
Nooo
Absolutely correct. Season one I had to fight to stop watching and go to sleep. Season two I had to fight to stop falling asleep and keep watching.

How to ruin a greate show ending : Arcane Season 2
