*Announcement:* There will be no ramble this week (weekend of October 5th / 6th) due to a lack of time on my part. Apologies for that. Hopefully I'll be back next week!
Very glad you are alive. Looking forward to the next rambe. Me and my wife has a saying at the saturday morning: "Let's listening on that pipes VS. tubes guy"
The writeup of that Linux on Intel 4004 is great. It's like how the Internet used to be where they tell you all of it, and haven't just made a ten minute long TH-cam video that shows things off and explains nothing. 10/10
Another lovely Ramble. Hope LGR (and everyone else) is OK... and cheeky so-and-so's cloning a voice. I played Red Baron in the arcade back in the day...
I really lile what Atari is doing so far. Keeping the Atari 50 collection "up to date", so to say, is amazing. Even providing free updates for people who bought the software - way to go! When the new physical complete collection for the Switch will come out, I'll consider getting it just because.
Such a shame about the Winamp source code not living up to expectations. Still use it today for MIDI file playback to a Yamaha MU80 and Roland SC-55 and it's ideal for it (except for crashing when editing MIDI settings after playback, which is easy enough to avoid). Years ago would have had multi speaker graphics, which reacted to the music. Great fun!
I'm pretty sure I've heard Jeff's (and other TH-camrs voices) in those god awful scam adverts trying to sell overpriced heaters and "military" spec flash lights. I rarely see the exact same Ad on TH-cam but I can instantly tell it's AI. Sometimes it takes a few moments to recognise why the voice over sounds familiar. I think this sort of thing is becoming worryingly common.
To be fair, their response was far stronger than the average British institution, particularly government departments, who would have probably denied any wrongdoing, declined to comment "on specific cases", and who would have issued an accompanying, disingenuous statement about "respecting creators' rights" that would be completely at odds with the observed reality.
It is classic US corporate culture hypocrisy. The likes of Microsoft - owners of the "studio" in question - gladly dabble with and distort politics in every country they operate in, but how dare anyone else get "political"! Apparently, Jim Purvis needed to "educate" himself in their policies (where are the "free speech" bigots when you need them?) but he only manage to school them instead. Victory to the gamers!

16 hours without power when I normally watch these, am I fashionably late?

oh! i thought you would double your main video releases ! LOL :P
Love this. Although I want to say having "Maggie Thatcher Is Back" in the title doesn't make me want to click! 😂
😂

It's absolutely deplorable imo.
Yes... an intern who "made a mistake." But good they're fixing it now that they got caught.

More than a week to boot a system. 🤣
I need to play Thatcher's Techbase. Genius. Hopefully there's an opportunity to blast Thatch into oblivion at the end of the original mod.
