Don I haven't watched a lot of you but tremendous props for making content for this game. I only know of PoE because my friends wouldn't shut up about it for years, but when I tried this game I couldn't help but realize there were a ton of similarities. I feel like a video like this can only help.
Oh man Torchlight has really changed, I loved 1 and 2 back in the day they ran great on my low end pc. Story was pretty good gameplay was good. I'll have to check this out.
Great video. They picked a good time to release this season was burning out from playing poe 2 and the new stuff looks really good. I really appreciate the fact that they are not reworking shit for once, just adding on to existing systems. deciding between selena or iris 2 is really hard. There is also FemRehan looming in my peripheral vision.
This video was awesome! I just got into TLI a few days ago and you made everything so digestible. Most videos I’ve come across are either very outdated or uninformative. You answered pretty much every question I had as a PoE player. I do have a question though! Are resistances just as important? Do you want to cap them? Also when it comes to defensive layers, is hybrid the move or is pure evasion/armor/ES okay?
Resists are less important till timemark 7-8 and beyond. This is because the normal cap is 60% which means being at 50% is less punishing than in path. For defensive layers some people will go life and others energy shield, it really depends on your build. Hybrid defenses I don't think are used very much but I haven't played every build
When I started playing, I thought of treasure troves like TLI’s version of a D3 Kadala gambling/bounty minigame. You get xp and have a chance to drop a legendary that can really smooth out early leveling.
absolutely banger video, looking forward to following your iris 2 stuff and other vids. Early on are as you start getting your first FEs are you using them to directly upgrade your gear or should you be checking the AH for certain things?
I love the changed game direction of TLI. Still, the Pact Spirit system is a barrier to entry for new players. But I have no complaints because devs give players legend Pact Spirit with events or content every season. And TLI's content is fun and solid. It's my best ARPG game after POE. Can't wait until next season!
once you learn the game more you will realize that pact spirits only make up less that 5-10% of the currency ur actually farming ( you can grind for a gg build just fine without legendary pacts) , they do help a little as they should but its nothing crazy like people try to make it look like

The game looks fun, the gearing looks great. In built poe ninja and auto crafting looks amazing but man the gacha systems really put me off and makes me concern about how p2w it is
Yeah the gacha system is a bit much but you get plenty of stuff from just playing. My first season i only got the battle pass and had a blast. They're also generous with lots of free stuff. You can 100% play without spending, don't even need to spend to sell on the ah.

@@DonTheCrown Yeah, I play usually just buy the season pass to support the game. Maybe swipe maybe note after lol. I never get a lot of FE though. One season I got an item that sold for 10k FE and besides that, usually poor.
One thing I was unsure about... should i be replacing my leveling uniques once i get to maps? I followed Coffeebns frostbite gemma build and im just not sure when im supposed to be crafting the affliction gear he talks about.
Its super easy to earn free pets by playing the game. Heck, I didnt play for a while and when i logged in i had hundreds of Primocrysts in my mail from server maintenance gifts.
You should really check Grim Dawn with all the latest updates just enough to prepare for new expansion. Crafting is the best in all of these new games combined.
In Grim Dawn? Crafting is the best? Are you kidding? You're pulling the mat slot machine at the blacksmith, and then running 5 legendaries and a double rare OA/OA Dreeg pants you found by running the same 2-minutes run 500 times in a row in an unmarked act 2 zone Unless they're chaning it in the new xpac but I haven't kept up too much with it, just glancing at the reveals and not really thinking twice about it, to be fair to Crate.
@@Somerled_Pox Still better than RNG in POE, where you farm RNG elements to get RNG modifiers where you need RNG drop currency to buy or craft items which are also RNG, Essences drops are also horrible for ACTUAL crafting which still gives you RNG stat from certain field. In 200hours of POE2 with first character without MF and second character with 200% rarity there were maybe 10 good item drops alltogether, 8 of them not being for the classes you play => f'in BS, all of the equipment bought with trading where "economy" is controlled by streamers doing their build making certain equipment overly priced due to market demand. Vomit!! Dont get me wrong game is good in many field but endgame builds, without any actual crafting and trading items is completely broken and fits the name of the company GRINDING GEAR GAME !!! Nothing is perfect, at least in GD I know why I'm farming something, and you can beat the game with normal loot drops from start to finish and gear up as the game progressess without ever touching any crafting, from formulas to anything else. Once you hit the crucible and shattered realms its different story, but still SOLO doable till the very end. Much more satisfiying experience for 99% of gamers who play games for fun not for grinding one game to the death and end of time.
they dont double your loot , realistically legendary pacts make up 5-10% of your loot in the long run if u know what to do you can farm for insane builds every league with no legendary pets
There are plenty example of players that paid nothing and still got really far into the game. Just buy the battle pass and you'll be fine. I think it's worth paying the developers for their hard work.

Im surprised by how good this game looks. How much realistically do you have to spend to get all legendary pets?
You don't need them and you certainly don't need them all

will vary build to build, however affliction tends to be really strong

Grim Dawn is a good game, but the graphics are too out of date. And the GD crafting system is not as good as TLI.
