    The Path Projects are the best I’ve ever had in all my decades of running. I’ve had mine for a couple years now and so they’ve been through several hundred washes and they still look like new! They hold up extremely well. I love the extra pockets and just like you I was able to get rid of the belt. Oh and I’ve never had any chafing. Glad you are enjoying them Matt.

    I just bought the nathan hydration vest because of you lol...... now I may buy these shorts. I am very interested in nathan and their new shorts with boxer compression liner they look nice. Maybe you will get a chance to try them out.... I hate chafing.... so I have used compression shorts....

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without a doubt, there isn’t much worse than chafing when you’re on a run! The Nathan shorts/boxer combo are very similar to the Path Projects idea, and I haven’t had any chafing since I switched away from a sewn-in liner.
      I’m so glad you got the Nathan best; I think you’re really going to love it!

  • @hrrrrr2084
    @hrrrrr2084 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I like the concept, inspired by Salomon's pioneering S/Lab modular system, that you can wear anything you want. For people whot hate liners, you can finally just wear the outer shorts on it own, without any kind of liner, boxers or tights. Some people prefer no chafing, to cool down; the breathability and total freedom for movement.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep! Exactly! 👊🏼

    • @hrrrrr2084
      @hrrrrr2084 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@its_Matt_B_ that way it's cheaper too. You can get high quality shorts without the additonal expense of the integrated liner you cut out afterwards. A true waste of money and not environment friendly. Why do some brands assume everyone wants restricting liners for "support" - rather "for no comfort" lol - some guys don't care, they just rock the unlined shorts. Path Projects nailed it.
      BTW did you try them that way? do they chafe if you don't wear anything underneath?

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hrrrrr2084 I haven’t tried them without a base layer. I’m sure they’d be ok for short runs but I’d definitely want a base layer for anything more than a few miles.

    • @its_Matt_B_

      I have the Sykes, Graves, and one other one, but I can’t remember the name. I usually wear a base liner that’s a little shorter than the shorts, so I’ll wear a 5” with 7” shorts.

      @tommytfaa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@its_Matt_B_ Thanks for the feed back. In your video I believe you ran in 5" shorts. It's funny how you state that people tend to go shorter in size the more they run. You are probably right. I am 6'3" and have always run in slightly longer baggy shorts. I was real clooooose after watching your video on trying 5" maybe later this summer lol. I ordered the nathan 7" essential shorts and will give them a try. For 55 dollars it is a good first step I suppose. There is absolutely nothing on youtube about there shorts or online for that matter so I will see how they feel. I will for sure get a set of path project liners and shorts just have to think if I want 7" shell or 5" shell.... It's funny I have always felt that say 40 dollars should be a good for a quality pair of shorts (i don't buy them often... I mean wash rinse repeat you know?) but now they are in the 70 and up range for PP shorts it makes me nervous... I mean they are shorts right lol. But they look super comfy! I have a problem in that my legs are very muscular, probably from years of bicycle commuting and running up hills and mountains around here. My upper leg muscles on the inside slap each other as I run. Unless I wear 9 inch compression shorts, I cannot run more than 1/2 mile maximum before the skin is red and irritated. I must be the only seventy something whose muscles are large enough to cause problems. My thigh circumference is about 22 1/2 inches which is a lot for a skinny guy.

      @@jsherzog I estimate the total of biking plus running in my life is around 120,000 miles (including exerbike workouts and commuting). I used to commute by bicycling and now commute by running using an exerbike to keep the leg muscles balanced (quads/hamstrings). Currently running at 150+ miles per month, with about 1/3 of that on steep hills.
