    Such hard work! Just getting dressed for each fitting is a whole ordeal in itself! It's turning out so well! And the "why can't you be more like your sister?! Now I sound like my mum" made me crack up so much even though I (thankfully) don't have that lived experience, haha!

    • @moth.faerie
      @moth.faerie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes omg next fitting I’m going to need the bfs help getting into and out of the bodice and so not looking forward to that 😅 haha more realistically my mom always wanted both me and my brother to be more like our over achieving cousins RIP

    The dress is coming together beautifully! And we're truly blessed with kitty content. Honey Bee is good at pretending he doesn't know who you're talking to. 😅 When you got under the crinoline I thought for a second you were trying to figure out why cats loved it so much.🤦‍♀️
    The skirt is so busy and yet it looks amazing. The flowers and the fact that tulle has swiss dots make me incredibly happy. It's always the details like this that make the whole look. Can't wait for the bodice part!

      Thank you!! And yess omg i was thrilled that the cats decided to hang out with me so much this week 🥰 I feel like Hannah’s designs are deceptively busy, like it all goes together so well then you break down each piece and it’s like oh this is going to take me forever haha

    Congrats on finishing all that beading! The amount of work you’re putting into this dress is amazing. Its turning out fantastically. This skirt is absolutely gorgeous. The beading is beautiful and I love the flower placement! It’s all so pretty!! Looking forward to the bodice!!

    When beading, completing a stage grants the person beading another house cat.

    Seeing Honey Bee playing with the skirt made me realize truly how well behaved Baby Bat is... i can't even make a paper pattern without my cats sitting on it and chewing on it and trying to steal it from me XD
    Anyways it's looking beautiful, and that embroidery!!! Gorgeous!!!!

      omg baby bat is such a good well behaved girl and honey bee is a thread eating demon haha, he's not allowed in my room anymore unless Micah or I can be watching him since he likes to eat the thread off my sewing machine. thankfully he doesn't really seem to swallow it, just likes to snap it, drool all over it and drag it around the house 😭

      This! My cat pretty much wants to steal all of my sewing things from me all the time. I can't cut out either paper or fabric without him being a little demon about it. Baby Bat is so well behaved, it's incredible!

    The skirt is Gorgeous! The flowers, the beading. the embroidery, the fabric, the layers... the whole darn creation.
    Your filming and music cues are just lovely. Very poetic.
    Swing Tacks... so that's what they're called. I ran into them a little while ago in a sewing book somewhere but I couldn't quite work out the purpose. Bloody brilliant.
    Congratulations to your fingers for surviving the beading and all the hand-work. Beautiful.

      By-the-by - would some sort of small weights help with the cage? I was at Sail a little while ago - fishing line weights come in all sorts of sizes these days.

    • @moth.faerie
      @moth.faerie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you!!! And unfortunately the hoop wire just isn’t strong enough so I think I’m actually going to reinforce it with some flat steel boning 😅 I think weights will help if I’m still having the problem of swinging forward once the hoops are reinforced but right now the heavy fabric is just squishing them. But it’s a learning experience so I’ll know better for next time! And swing tacks are one of my favorite things to do!! They’re so useful and so satisfying to look at like a little tiny chain of crochet 😊

    • @stevezytveld6585
      @stevezytveld6585 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@moth.faerie Oh. All that work... can you run the wire/boning underneath what you've already done? Learning curves can be tough.. you'll get there. You're kind of inventing the wheel with this one.
      The swing tacks are just such an elegant little solution.

    • @moth.faerie
      @moth.faerie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevezytveld6585 I did a test and I can just slot the new wire in behind the old one! I think I only need to reinforce the bottom two rungs as well so it's not too bad! At least I don't have to make an entirely new one

    Did you consider using petticoats? I have worn extremely heavy skirts with several starched petticoats (2 or 3 simple petticoats with 3 meters of fabric each) you can still use the bumroll on top of them. Hopefully the straps will work 🤞🏻

    • @moth.faerie
      @moth.faerie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s already got two petticoats over the cage 😅 unfortunately I think the velvet I’m using is just so heavy it crushes everything. But thank you for the suggestion!

    Baby Bat is the perfect witchy cat. And she is adorable. The skirt looks very heavy, does it feel so when it is on you? It also looks lovely with the magnificent color and the flowers and the point d’esprit veil. The result is incredible.
