I’m gonna try to summarise all the things covered in this video as much as possible so Non-Japanese speaking people can have an idea what Hyde was talking about. I’m so sorry for the super long comment, there were just so many things covered in this video. Also I cannot guarantee that my translation is accurate as my Japanese is not good, but I’ve tried my best. I’m gonna divide the summary into 2 separate comments, have fun reading! 😊
Part 1
At the beginning, Shimono introduced the program and Hyde as the main MC. Shimono said it had been nearly a year since everyone saw Hyde in a yukata. Fans said he looked beautiful and seemed like he’d lost weight and Hyde said he might have a little bit. Shimono asked Hyde’s for his thoughts regarding the comeback of the show because many fans had requested for a reboot in a survey, to which Hyde answered he had not it seen it, but he was glad to be pairing with Shimono again for the show.
2:07 Shimono explained about the program “Haidora” (Hyde’s radio) which was available exclusively for members of Hyde’s official mobile site called Hyde’s room before but ended in 2019. In this program, Hyde usually shares his thoughts about ordinary, everyday things that are not related to work.
3:15 They drank Mugicha with foam (another way of saying beer I think) and Hyde made a toast to life and the summer night of 2020 .
4:15 Shimono MC asked Hyde if his alcohol consumption had changed during the stay home period compared to when he was doing lots of live shows. Hyde said he often drank more when going out, so perhaps he had drunk less during the stay home period. Hyde said he got addicted to Wakayama shochu this year after becoming tourism ambassador for his hometown and he often drank it like a substitute to vodka, mixing with lemon and carbonated water.
5:38 Shimono MC told everyone to use Haidora hashtag on Twitter and send in messages telling what everyone had done during the summer. Hyde shared what he was up to - carving trees. He said he had wanted to do that for a long time and finally decided to start this time. He carved onto living trees in his house to make them resemble talking trees or forest spirits. He used a chainsaw and an electric chisel for small details and said he has learned a lot during the process.
12:56 After sharing footage of Hyde’s MV challenge, Hyde said everyone was cute and seemed to have put in a lot of effort. Shimono said there were lots of variety - age groups, genders, types of instruments and pets, etc. Hyde agreed and said he noticed a fan girl who he had seen in many of his live shows, who sent him fan letters and thought “I feel like I know her”.
14:42 A fan said they’ve created an avatar and a concert stage for Hyde in the game Animal Crossing during the summer and Hyde said he had seen that on Twitter and thought it was cool. On the topic of game, Shimono asked Hyde if he liked games, to which he joked he was not at all interested but he had played “Find the criminal” game on mobile phone before.
17:33 Quiz corner. Question 1: Has Hyde ever woken up from the heat this summer?
Hyde answered Yes and said he hated air-conditioner. If he had them on, it would be around 27-28 Degree but normally he would have the cool air coming in from a faraway room with the air-con on. Even then he said air-con created a uniquely unpleasant feeling which he hated. He also said he had been sleeping in his own merchandise T-shirts and shorts during the summer and Shimono remarked that many fans might be doing the same thing.
19:10 Question 2: Because this summer was very hot, was there a moment when you rode the car and thought “ah it’s so hot!”?
Hyde said no, because he no longer drove. These days he is usually in the back seat and normally the air-con is already on when he enters so he doesn’t feel hot at all. Hyde revealed that he stopped driving because of his lifestyle - he usually went out with the intention of drinking, even if he did not end up drinking later.
21:02 Question 3: Regarding the rapidly increasing cashless transactions in Japan. This summer, when Hyde-san used cash to buy something, what did you buy?
Hyde said he didn’t buy anything with cash. He said he really hated cash because he didn’t know who had touched them and also because of Corona outbreak. He normally only has a card with him, and only carry a bit of cash when it’s really necessary. He said compared to other developed Asian countries who had gone cashless to a large extent, Japan is very behind. Shimono then asked if Hyde can give his cash to him and Hyde said he would be happy to do so.
23:50 Question number 4: Imagine Hyde-san is walking, a cicada turns around standing still and your eyes meet. What would you do?
Hyde said he would just pass by. He said he usually refrained from killing insects that came into his house as much as possible and would only flush them down the toilet when they were too troublesome - even though he felt bad about it. He joked that even the insects were trying their best. He said he believed the majority of life forms on Earth were insects, so if there were to be reincarnation, people might become insects in their next lives. In that sense, then it could be possible that the insect which he flushed down the toilet was his grandpa coming to visit him.
28:20 Question 5: This summer there was an application that was seen in a lot of variety shows, which people use to see themselves turning into a woman or an older version of themselves. Hyde-san has also tried out this app. Yes or No?
Hyde said yes and revealed he tried turning into an old man. Shimono said that was an Award winning face and said he looked so cool - like an actor. Fans also commented saying he looked like Sean Connery.
30:38 (Question from Miru-san from Twitter) This summer, did you eat watermelon?
Hyde first said Yes, then later changed to No. He watched “The World Unknown To Matsuko” program on TV and there was a special episode on watermelon and they were eating delicious looking watermelons in the program, making him feel like he had eaten it for real. Shimono asked if Hyde had ever played Suikawari (a game of splitting watermelon while blindfolded), to which he said yes, but remarked that when playing in the city (as opposed to playing in the sand at the beach) like in parking lots or concrete surface, the damage (to your hand) could be a lot if you failed to hit the target.
37:23 Hyde’s opinion corner. Shimono will read out several news topics that has attracted public attention recently and Hyde will choose topics that pique his interest and discuss freely on that topic. The topics were: 1. Finally settled, Chiba - Saitama controversy 2. The people who lick ice-cream lids 3. From “Pien” to “Paon” ( “Pien” is a chat language term used to express a little sadness in a cute way, like this emoji 🥺, while “Paon” mimics the elephant’s sound, used to express sadness in a similar fashion, but on a stronger degree) 4. Smartphone causing a sudden drop in young motorcycle-riding delinquents (bōsōzoku), 5.Torii Miyuki’s method to prevent umbrellas from being stolen.
38:35 Hyde chose motorcycle-riding gang topic. According to the news, the number of people caught for motorcycles theft had recently decreased sharply compared to 30 years ago, not because of improved crime prevention measures but due to the large existence of smartphones. The monthly cost of smartphones is too high making it impossible to have a motorbike. Besides, today’s youths dislike hierarchical relationships and group actions and think playing smartphone games is more fun compared to roaming the streets aimlessly at night. Hyde said he didn’t understand the sudden drop because it’s not like smartphones came out yesterday. Shimono asked if Hyde had seen a motorcycle gang recently, Hyde said yes, in the middle of Tokyo and he was so surprised by that sight. Hyde also said since he was a kid, he had wanted to ride motorcycle, but he never understood the Yankee & bōsōzoku fashion so he never followed that, he only liked Hard rock fashion and whenever he rode his Harley, he would just drive calmly for fun.

エンターテイメントは良いですよね。コロナ禍で人の心と体も病んでしまいそうな世の中でも癒しや心が鼓舞されます。嫌なことも忘れさせてくれそうな気がしますしね😊。今、木村花さんの事件が起き、ネット上の誹謗中傷や自殺煽りが社会問題になっているにもかかわらず、いまだに私がよく見ている法曹という裁判官、検察官、弁護士を目指す法務省が主催する予備試験という試験の受験生が集う５ちゃんねるの｢予備試験スレ｣では１受験生のハンドルネームを名指しであげて｢死ねや｣とほぼ毎日執拗に自殺を煽り続けている荒らしがいます。本来、制止しなければならない立場を目指す受験生のスレでこのような荒らしが暴れていることは深刻な事態だと思っています。しかしながら、もっと深刻なことはその１受験生の自殺をほぼ毎日必死に煽り続けていたり、携帯を監視し続けていたりする荒らしは本当の受験生ではないということですね。そこに、今の司法試験予備試験の不正の闇、法務省職員の不正の闇があります。つまり、三年前の法務省職員の不正の口封じか、証拠隠滅の為に今当時の被害者受験生が必死に自殺を煽り続けられていたり、携帯を監視し続けられていたり、粘着して受験妨害の嫌がらせを受けていたのでしょう。被害者は不正の体験者ですから。三年前の法務省職員の不正については元検察官の郷原弁護士第１回ユーチューブコメント欄参照で、三年前と現在の荒らしによる自殺との関連性については東京都公式ユーチューブの緊急事態宣言の小池都知事の定例記者会見の最新版から２つ目の動画参照で😊
