Yeah, it's not OK. But I think there are some misconceptions in some parts of the riding community. My first instructor used to tell me that horses couldn't feel kicks or slaps like we do. 😳😳🙈 I obviously know better nowadays but somebody that started riding 40 years ago may not. Unfortunately
I used to ride my horse in MD to fox hunts on Sunday, my cousin handling the dogs, we so enjoyed running, jumping through St Mary’s county countryside, my home 🐎🐎😍❤️🙏👍 started when I was 6 with pony he let me use til I got my horse at 8 . Great video🙏
A well organised Hunt on a defined route. Everyone, including families and the horses all having a good time. No Police, protestors, violence, intimidation, confrontation with members of the Public, nor animals being injured or killed. Other Hunt groups should take note and use your footage as an example of how a Hunt should be organised.
There were many horses falling over (which is incredibly dangerous) Obviously the Fox was hurt This is coming from someone who used to hunt and did it for years It is a cruel sport all round
I don’t support this kind of riding but I adore how you reward your horse after each jump. You are the kind of person I would want to see riding hunter, not some crazy rider who whips their horses. More people like you should exist, especially around horses.
It takes me back to when I used to go hunting in England as a girl with all that laughing and giggling and having so much fun. It was absolutely exhilarating and I loved it.
I’m hoping you mean drag hunting instead of hunting actual foxes with hounds. Never understood why some hunts rip apart native wildlife, pets and livestock for shits and giggles
I thing I miss about my old horse was our bond.my horse would walk through fire with me if he had to such an honest horse he was.love your video makes me want to get back into the saddle
It’s all about having fun!! I’ve been riding horses for 4 years, every Saturday, and I’ve fallen off heaps of times, but did I give up? No, I keep going because I love it! when I fall I get up and get back on Immediately.
On ur hunt do u not yell "loose horse" when someone falls off?🤔 It was nice to see you jump off to help ur friend~😊 Also them Jumps 😱 I'd be too terrifide & take the gate/flat options
Hey there let’s count all the people who say this is abuse ! Thanks you for your input but it won’t be needed today. I understand you might think this is “abuse” and what not but really if you looked into it and if you did some research, fun fact it’s actually not that bad. Mind. Blown. These horses get more care than you could give your children and this is what these horses absolutely love to do. There is hardly ever any foxes actually killed on these hunts because it’s mostly done just to jump a few drains and have some fun with your horses. Yes of course I understand there has been times when horses have gotten injured on these hunts, maybe minor injuries, maybe fatal. And that goes the same for the riders. But people look upon it as “they don’t care if their horse gets hurt”. We do care. So so much. As I said, hunters do love their horses. As do showjumpers. Horses also can get fatally injured in showjumping and riders are left devastated. Hunting is the same thing really just a bit more rough and tough, but these horses are built for this as showjumpers are built for showjumping. Injuries do happen I understand, to both horse and rider, but that’s a risk we take and everybody who has no idea what real hunting is can sit here and comment about how it’s abuse. I mean ya sure whatever you think yourself doll
Clodagh Marie so why do they use horses as weapons to block monitors and push people out the way to block the view? Think and do more readership yes they may love their horses and this is one person who does you can see I’m these vids too that the horses get hard blows if they don’t do something or spook be more realistic people
Clodagh Marie I don’t say it is abuse but some jumps are realy stupit to begin with. I mean that it is dangereuses and can go bet. I don’t say this kind of sports is bet but it can be more safety if plan carefully. Chacking the gound and the route and the jumps. That way it is fun but also safetly. Because no whan want to go from realy fun to going to the pain of seeing your animal in alot of pain or your self. I’m saying do this and have a great time but do it safely. ( sorry for the bet englisch I have dyslexie)
You said it loud and clear for all to hear 😋now I hope the haters were reading because if not! I'll print this off and send it to your frount door! The haters need to officially back of because like him and me a lot of other people know that its NOT abuse!! Haters sit down now and say sorry for what you said! Every horse that is hunting a non animal sent (for this instants) loves what they do and wont stop. Yes they do get hurt but this is what they were breed to do and this is what the riders themselves want to do! A few jumps might be a bit dangerous but just like showjumping risk taking is the way of victory! Only last week did a French hores get injured whilst doing SHOWJUMPING! Now I've made my point I hope the haters now understand that a dangerous fall could just be around the corner for everyone and not just for hunters!!!!! 😎👏🏻Bye
Wonderful editing job. Obviously you had a TON of footage to pick through. Had to be some tough choices! Looks/sounds like you are having a blast with your sport; and are very considerate of your horse and mates. Ignore the hate, it's the internet. These are the adventures you'll remember forever! Love the giddy laughs and the "bloody hell's".
I don't understand saying "Good Girl" and then smacking the mare. It's a mixed message. I give a gentle rub. The only explanation would be that one smacks because they think the horse can't feel it due to an adrenaline rush. Any thoughts out there?
Your giving us equestrians a bad name by saying that 😡 we don't smack our horses, it's just a pat on the shoulder or neck... Maybe go to a horse riding expert before saying this
Saying "good girl/boy" is not for the benefit of the horse; it's just one of many inputs they have to filter out as having no meaning for them. Same is true for the "patting". The rider is projecting their own emotions onto the horse with those smacks and comments. Just some of the many, many things the horse has to filter out. Makes me want to "smack" the rider.
The hunting industry around me is nothing like that there is too many ppl following in cars and quad bikes and horses going on land without permission and it is rlly sad that u can’t just have a fun day out hunting anymore 😢
I was once the only jr. That stayed with one other person, the wips when looking for the hounds as they went into other property and this dude on his side by side floors it pasts us, and goes toward the whips, with a gun is what they told us
Icon The Boxer omg it is horrible especially hunt saboteurs they know nothing about what foxes do to poultry tbh the foxes deserve the pain. I used to go a lot bc it was just a fun ride out and my horse loved it to but now it is a constant stress that saboteurs will come any minute and hurt the hounds or the horses so I don’t rlly go anymore
I love how u encourage your horse and tell her good girl & treat her with respect but some riders weren’t that nice and as good to their horses. Even though I don’t agree with this sport I do love the way u respect ur horse and have fun.
I love hunting (not foxes though!) and I love the way you encourage/prase your horse! That guy though when you asked if he wanted a lead and he was like "no I do not!" lol xxx
Many people in this comment section don't understand hunting whatsoever and it is highly infuriating seeing all these "know it all" spreading false information, people saying "horse abuse" have never went hunting in their lives and have probably never worked with horses! good on your horse and you girl you are fantastic at hunting and a amazing rider!
This seems highly unsafe. Not for you. But for the horse. I don’t care if you’re rewarding he or she after they’ve just jumped a big ditch, it’s still unsafe. I feel so bad for the horse, especially that part where you cantered on the cement. I don’t care if it was for a few seconds, that could get your horse lame or even worse. Fox hunting is a terrible thing, I don’t even know why it’s legal where you live.
its illegal actually, but all fox hunts openly flout and break this law! fortunately we have highly sucessful hunt sabbing groups who save many foxes from being ripped to shreds
Cantering on cement wouldn't make your horse lame, there are different reasons for a horse to go lame. But I still do not like the idea of fox hunting.
I think jumping over the ditches is highly unsafe for the horses buy you are really nice but on the other hand I hate fox hunters , why do you hunt gods beautiful creations is a mystery for me
They're exercising the hounds. The dogs are taken out for a run, and other horse riders can experience the kind of riding involved when hunting was legal. The dogs don't hunt any foxes.
@@glendalaw So you're telling me to control the fox population we've got to get suited and booted with hounds and horses to chase and kill a fox? Not, say, shoot it quickly and humanely? Which is an efficient use of time..? Load of rubbish using that argument
I don't hunt myself. But I understand it. It keeps the fox population down and keeps the dogs, horses and riders fit. Im very happy that you are kind to your horse :)
Lol some people need to chill. These horses love their job, they love running through the field, jumping ditches and fences. Look how excited they get! None are abused, theyre all well fed, no marks or scars, none are lame, and these people know what theyre doing
I hate fox hunting but u just are so nice when the horse falls u still re ward it for trying or wheen the other need help u always helped even tho they were grumpy gits and when ur friend fell u went straight back to help her and the others didnt ur so nice and helpfull just be carefull with the ditched a horse cpuld break its leg easily
She's very kind to her horses and they seem to have done it a few times before I'd say because most of them weren't that spooky or hesitant and I've got no problem with people jumping or anything but if I had my own horse I'd check all of the course and if my horse didn't trust it, we wouldn't go over it. Some of them seemed very dangerous, any horse could've hurt themselves at any moment. There could've been tons of things that could go wrong. This isn't abuse to the horses btw guys because I've been scrolling through comments and people have been saying it's abuse to the horse but it's not abuse. It could hurt them but it's no abuse. Anyway, the horse she was riding was perfectly fine with it as you could see, her ears were pricked and she was concentrating. My only problem is that horses and even rider could get hurt. No hate please x feel free to state your opinion by replying to me! I don't think that I'm amazing at riding even though I've been riding for years so if you'd like to add anything on or try to correct me then feel free to do so!
Like I wouldn’t do this with my horse, just because I wouldnt enjoy it and would not want to take that extra risk but there is nothing wrong with it it isn’t abuse! And she seems to really care about the horses!
Why is it that people think that the harder they hit ("pet") the horse, the more it feels appreciated? Their skin is so delicate. It does not make pleasure to be "pet" that way. Also, hitting a horse with the stick (I don't know the english term) was so rude. People, you need to work with your horses, not torture them. So many good riders, and yet some bastards. Congrats to all that got back to the saddle after a fall. I am always shaing after that!
1. look at the horse ears 2. the horses wouldnt jump if they wont happy point 1- their ears are pricked.. if they prick their ears theyre happy point 2- these horses were built, born and bred to do this so they enjoy it and all horses get nervous sometimes
wrong and wrong. look at 5:00 does that horse want to jump? no, they made it jump. also look at how many of the horses that fall, land akwardly or hit the jumps. no horse is built to jump this. No horse is truely built to jump over and over again. just look at how many jumpers that end up with arthritis
@@horseloverforever2846 1.no, horses are forced to jump rather they want or not. And 2. these horses weren't born to do this. They were born to be just horses. Don't try to hide the abuse that horses suffer
i get that the guy was rude but idk how people aren't more concerned about the girl at 5:04? she just whacked that horse hard bc it wasnt going over something it was scared of? like wtf?
@@briarrr__ dude, that is not encouragement. It seemed bad because I have eyes and I can see her whacking the horse on the ass, hard. A horse can literally feel a fly land on its skin and you want to tell me that this wouldn't hurt? If your horse isn't exposed enough to something that frightens it, it should never be treated like this. I feel sorry for any horses you ride if you think that's ok.
Honestly, I’ve done the same. This horse may just have an issue with ditches. The only way to get them to do it sometimes is by a smack. Watch the lead horse in a pasture. It bullies the others into listening. I’m not saying it’s always the right answer, but in this case, kick, wack, grab mane.
Ooh. It made me cringe when the horses got hit with the fence. I know that had to hurt! you seem to have an amazing attitude about everything and seem to be a great rider! Great video!
First of all, this is just basically all animal abuse, the poor fox gets chased by hundreds of dogs, for what? For the history? Just because it is tradition DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT!!!!!! There is so much evidence of people getting treated like sh#t just because they are standing up for the horses, If you really love animals, would u let them run so many miles just because of your own pleasure.???? I am probably going to get allot of hate for this, but come on, we all know it is true
Just curious but why do so many of the horses wear Martingales- I think that is what they are called, that is collars and head restraints ? Quarter Horses seldom are equipped with that harness.
This looks terrifying but so amazing at the same time!! I would so love to try it I wish they had hunts like that in my country!! That wired fence though... not sure about that... but the rest looked super fun and something that would definitely toughen you and your horse up! Ps. Loved your riding skills and great sportsmanship ♥
I like how you had fun yet looked after your horse and other people😊, have to say didn’t like how certain people treated their horses, but hey can’t control others actions.
I would rather have my horse doing this than just walking, trotting and cantering around in circles in an arena. the countryside is a lot bigger, you have grass, and lakes for your horse to drink and eat. and lots of things to jump and gallop around in!
yours such a kind and fearless rider also to everyone else giving her hate for jumping with no boots over wire. your not meant to in case the boots get caught

5:09 excuse me ma’am did that horse do anything to deserve that? He/she may have stoped but is that necessary, no it’s not. Also I’m not a fan of hunts but I love how nice you are to your horse I just need to have a serious talk with some of the others.
Yeah, it's not OK. But I think there are some misconceptions in some parts of the riding community. My first instructor used to tell me that horses couldn't feel kicks or slaps like we do. 😳😳🙈
I obviously know better nowadays but somebody that started riding 40 years ago may not. Unfortunately
Your riding enthusiasm is just amazing! Even when others fell you stopped and helped them! Your really caring! 🐴✨🦄
You are such a genuine and lovely person to all those around you! I hope you had a lovely year and you have beautiful horses! xx
What a beautiful dismount at 9.57

Skye Stevens yes it was XD
Do you mean 9:57
A hunter guy from the US, Your club is fantastic and your very skilled...and your voice is magical. ( the Mare is very talented too)
I used to ride my horse in MD to fox hunts on Sunday, my cousin handling the dogs, we so enjoyed running, jumping through St Mary’s county countryside, my home 🐎🐎😍❤️🙏👍 started when I was 6 with pony he let me use til I got my horse at 8 .
There were many horses falling over (which is incredibly dangerous)
Obviously the Fox was hurt
This is coming from someone who used to hunt and did it for years
It is a cruel sport all round
@@maddragonfurs6358 If you think it's so cruel why did you do it for years
xRachelNG because I was 8 years old and that’s what I was told to do
I love how much you praise your horses. It makes me incredibly happy to see such good riding.
I just love how rewarding you are to those horses and when they fall and you fall you just go back to get the horse
I don’t support this kind of riding but I adore how you reward your horse after each jump. You are the kind of person I would want to see riding hunter, not some crazy rider who whips their horses. More people like you should exist, especially around horses.
You are such a kind and caring person to the people around you and to all the horses we need more equestrians like you in the world
I LOVE how they just fall off but get straight back on like nothing happened❤️😘
It takes me back to when I used to go hunting in England as a girl with all that laughing and giggling and having so much fun. It was absolutely exhilarating and I loved it.
I’m hoping you mean drag hunting instead of hunting actual foxes with hounds. Never understood why some hunts rip apart native wildlife, pets and livestock for shits and giggles
@@theotheseaeagle yes it was drag hunting.
I have watched this 8 times lmao x
I love the way you have fun Your horse obviously trust and adores you ...
Your horses are so beautiful, and it was a great 2018! Hopefully 2019 is just as eventful!
I thing I miss about my old horse was our bond.my horse would walk through fire with me if he had to such an honest horse he was.love your video makes me want to get back into the saddle
I wouldn't go on one these if you paid me. So unnecessarily dangerous and foolish.
KaregoAt you only have to do what you want to xx there so much fun ❤️
It’s all about having fun!! I’ve been riding horses for 4 years, every Saturday, and I’ve fallen off heaps of times, but did I give up? No, I keep going because I love it! when I fall I get up and get back on Immediately.
My idea of fun doesn't include breaking my horse's legs.
And FYI, I've been riding for 16 years.
Fair point but I have never seen a horse brake his legs in the last 10 yrs
KaregoAt u dont have a clue what ur on bout
Awesome. Fabulous video and sport.
On ur hunt do u not yell "loose horse" when someone falls off?🤔
It was nice to see you jump off to help ur friend~😊
Also them Jumps 😱 I'd be too terrifide & take the gate/flat options
“Good girl!!” *beats horse* (chill out I meant while she is patting her horse.)
Horses can't feel it so when she pats so hard it's not so for the horses 🤗
Ammaarah Coetzee bull crap do some research
Jacey Mae Shannon they have thick skin but more pain sensors this reward basically does nothing more than evoke pain
Jacey Mae Shannon no I don’t but i don’t mind people who do
Jacey Mae Shannon just the hard slaps 😉 horses don’t liked to be pet ❤️ but thank u for being respectful
For God sake dude, the horse was literally just about to jump over it :/
5:07
When you fall off after a fence your not actually running after your horse running for your life so you don’t get squatted by the next horse coming
Clodagh Marie thank you ☺️
😤 ok 👍
SPORT??? ohh dear
Very entertaining and even educational- have a blessed and prosperous 2019
Jumping wire? You should be ashamed of yourself!
She shouldn’t be.
It was the leaders fault for taking them that path
We’re is the wired fence
You act so positive in every situation and obviously love and treet your horses very well
I really like your bay mare. She appears to be a fine hunt horse!
Love that you posed by the Rider Ditching Hedge. Great mindset for dealing with that fall.
I am not a HUGE fan of fox hunts, but I LOVE that you didn't give up! You also PRAISED your horses!
Really hard for me to watch. Do you all really care for your horses or is it just something you can replace easily ?
I don't understand saying "Good Girl" and then smacking the mare. It's a mixed message. I give a gentle rub. The only explanation would be that one smacks because they think the horse can't feel it due to an adrenaline rush. Any thoughts out there?
Nancy Adler I’m not smacking her I’m patting her...
Nancy Adler some horses love pats and it is their way of being rewarded
Nancy Adler She patting her. Bloody hell 😂
@@zaralightningstone9653 but we go with the scent of the fox not a real Fox, and we get signichure for were we go
Icon The Boxer oh that’s cool there r a lot of foxes where we hunt so we would struggle to know which is real and which is fake 😂😂
@@zaralightningstone9653 You just said in you're comment the foxs deserve pain! I can't believe you......
I loved that all of you's stuck together and praised the horses loads 💖
LuckyLady Plays - british
Cantering on cement wouldn't make your horse lame, there are different reasons for a horse to go lame. But I still do not like the idea of fox hunting.
They chase scents
I totally agree but they actually put special shoes on the horses so there able to to this king of stuff! Not trying to be mean
I love you youre my fan and love horses you!!!!
Nice video!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!😍😍😍😍
I think jumping over the ditches is highly unsafe for the horses buy you are really nice but on the other hand I hate fox hunters , why do you hunt gods beautiful creations is a mystery for me
These hunts are killing foxes. They are chasing a scent. I believe it’s illegal in the UK to fox hunt😑
Isabella Ostapiej stfu you know nothing about horses
Fox hunting is illegal anyway (for uk)
They're exercising the hounds. The dogs are taken out for a run, and other horse riders can experience the kind of riding involved when hunting was legal. The dogs don't hunt any foxes.
@@glendalaw So you're telling me to control the fox population we've got to get suited and booted with hounds and horses to chase and kill a fox? Not, say, shoot it quickly and humanely? Which is an efficient use of time..?
Load of rubbish using that argument

"OOF'
I died XD
Some brave trusty horses your riding! Looks like so much fun! I'm so jealous.😁😁❤
Jumping too many dangerous things. If the horse falls and breaks its leg, it's highly likely the horse with die or have to get put down.
you are so kind and caring looking out for people when they fell
Good guuurl👋👋👋👋👋
I love to here her laugh and love it when she says good girl and pats her horse😁❤👍
Like I wouldn’t do this with my horse, just because I wouldnt enjoy it and would not want to take that extra risk but there is nothing wrong with it it isn’t abuse! And she seems to really care about the horses!
If you care about the horses you don't put them on a risk.
5:25 I was so tense during this part 😬😬
You're a great rider. God I miss hunting.
Horses don’t look like they are having fun to me!
1. look at the horse ears
2. the horses wouldnt jump if they wont happy
point 1- their ears are pricked.. if they prick their ears theyre happy
point 2- these horses were built, born and bred to do this so they enjoy it
and all horses get nervous sometimes
I agree with your point on the ears but actually a lot of the time the horses don’t want to jump the ditches but they’re forced on
wrong and wrong. look at 5:00 does that horse want to jump? no, they made it jump. also look at how many of the horses that fall, land akwardly or hit the jumps. no horse is built to jump this. No horse is truely built to jump over and over again. just look at how many jumpers that end up with arthritis
@@horseloverforever2846 1.no, horses are forced to jump rather they want or not. And 2. these horses weren't born to do this. They were born to be just horses. Don't try to hide the abuse that horses suffer
i get that the guy was rude but idk how people aren't more concerned about the girl at 5:04? she just whacked that horse hard bc it wasnt going over something it was scared of? like wtf?
It's only encouragement, trust me. Though it did seem bad, it was just a little push, as horses have high pain tolerances.
Purpl3 P0ny
False
Horses have much more nerves in their skin than us
They feel the pain way more than us
@@polishpierog7610 They have a higher pain tolerance though. :/
I love your account you care about everyone so much
First of all, this is just basically all animal abuse, the poor fox gets chased by hundreds of dogs, for what? For the history? Just because it is tradition DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT!!!!!! There is so much evidence of people getting treated like sh#t just because they are standing up for the horses, If you really love animals, would u let them run so many miles just because of your own pleasure.???? I am probably going to get allot of hate for this, but come on, we all know it is true
You gals have balls of steel! Just wondering if I ever visit could i ride with you?
id like to do a fox hunt at the walk please, you are a superb rider wow and your horses are amazing
You mean, you love it. Horse doesn’t have a choice here.
Mariann Cleary But the horse does 😉
Please drape something over strand fences so the horses can see it.
Just curious but why do so many of the horses wear Martingales- I think that is what they are called, that is collars and head restraints ? Quarter Horses seldom are equipped with that harness.
I enjoyed watching this video.
Great to hear you laughing and being encouraging. I hope you’re always find it great rewarding fun!
0:55 that hedge is HUGE😱😂
This looks terrifying but so amazing at the same time!! I would so love to try it I wish they had hunts like that in my country!! That wired fence though... not sure about that... but the rest looked super fun and something that would definitely toughen you and your horse up! Ps. Loved your riding skills and great sportsmanship ♥
Hmm many other people also seem nice to the horses and even u when u gave that person ur horse good job 👍
That hedge was huge!!! must of took some bloody balls to attempt that ✌🏼
Wow, muy buen video. Ese deporte es una verdadera maravilla. Saludos desde chile
Wow that looks like fun, for both parties I'm sure.

I came to this video thinking hunting was bad. I left this video wanting to do it ❤️ so fun !
I couldn’t stop laughing through this! You are insane! I give so much props to fox hunters because those jumps scare the shit out of me and the hunts are so long. You and your horse have to be in shape for these. I could never...
