I love swimming in a salt water pool! I am sensitive to chlorine, it makes me very itchy and I will sneeze for hours after getting out. I am sure the salt is much safer for the kids too. That chlorine does a number to your skin!

Ouch, the memories that came flooding back. A few months ago, when I was in competitive swimming, one of our opponents had a salt water pool. I dove in and my goggles fell off in the slightest way that it filled with nothing but salt water. Of course you have to open your eyes to see where you're going. It was the post painful race. I also inhaled a lot of water during that race. Perfect combo.
Love the succulents. That pool looks so inviting! lol at the moth almost getting ate. My son who is now 15 months put a stink bug in his mouth. Thankfully he didn't start chewing on it... gross I know :)

The salt does not sit at the bottom of the pool; it does dissolve in the water. It doesn't evaporate like chlorine does, though. You WILL lose salt with draining or splash out. We have to add more salt 1 or 2 times a year to keep it at the ideal level.
when we put salt into our pool we walk around the pool and pour it in slowly, and so that way it doesn't all just pile up in one spot at the bottom of the pool. :)
