We have another tradition altogether ;) In Denmark we get together for a bit Christmas dinner on the 24 - we dress up and get pretty ( but try to wear something not bellypinching) At my house we eat turkey and flæskesteg ( a type of pork roast) and sausage with boiled potatoes, candied small potatoes, warm red cabbage, and vanilla boiled Apples with a jelly on top.. My husband is weird and eat something called grønlangkål ( im not sure what the English name is but it’s green chopped cabbage heated with butter and double cream) with cinnamon sugar on top... For dessert we have risalamande - A creamy rice pudding with almonds and hot cherry sauce on top - in the dessert we hide one whole perfect almond - and the idea is that the one to find the almond gets a gift - when I was young it was always a Marcipan pig - today it’s just a gift of some sort ;) After dinner we usually ‘dance’ around the christmas tree singing Christmas carols - one song pr person ;) And then it’s time for gifts :) The youngest in our family had the task of passing out gifts, one at a time, and we wait for the next until the first gift is open... Then we sit and talk, eat candy and drink something hot - Irish coffee, hot cocoa or even just coffee :) Christmas morning we sleep in, go for a walk and then at midday we eat tartelettes - a danish dish where we use the leftover turkey and make a sauce with turkey, white asparagus and cream - and put it in puff pastry ‘cups’ ( they look more like cupcake forms made of pastry) And then we play games and hang out the rest of the day :) But normal comfy clothes :)
Tasha Soto - its amazing - and every danish family has some variant of this tradition... when our kids were small we let them choose one or two gifts to unwrap during the day to keep them occupied... But because our Christmas is so full of traditions I always wonder how American Christmas goes - it is in essence just christmas morning - opening gifts and then breakfast?? Or is there some type of tradition on Christmas eve, or after the gifts that the European viewers never hear about??
What a wonderful tradition! We live in New York, across the state as far from NY City as possible, lol. When our kids were little we had one set of Grandparents over on Christmas Eve for lunch and presents. Then they'd get up for presents with us before going to my family's house with cousins and turkey/ham and mashed potatoes. Always lots of pie too.

Like with most other things like that it’s about planning :) I pre made all I could yesterday, so that today the main feature is the cooking of it :) So when we hit mid aftternoon the house will smell like Christmas dinner... We have small traditions throughout the day to... For example - one danish to channel has sent the Disney Christmas show EVERY Christmas Eve for over 50 years at 4.... So at 4 we gather around the tv to watch the Christmas show ( and the one cooking is listening in too ) I have seen it every year for my entire life, and that show just screams NOW it’s Christmas to me...
We get dedicated jammies too. This has been a tradition for over 30 years in our fam. We all get jammies and a book the night before Xmas and wear the new jams to bed. I love it!
When I was younger I always wore my pjs in the morning to open gifts. Now we always have family over and so I dress up to entertain people. I miss the pj mornings sometimes. My family for years gave each other festive pajamas on Christmas Eve that we would wear that night and open presents in on Christmas morning. It was one of my favorite traditions!
I'm from Germany, so we open our presents on Christmas eve after dinner. But we started putting a little twist to it a couple of years ago. We get a dice and roll it, and everyone that has a 6 gets to open a present. We wait until that person has opened their present and then keep rolling the dice one after the other. It's really nice actually, because you see what everyone else gets, and you appreciate the gifts much more I think. Christmas day we spend with my dad's family, boxing day with my mum's family. Both also including exchanging gifts with that side of the family.
I'm watching this in June, but I'm definitely already planning on rocking one of those scrunchie looks this Christmas! Also, I can't get enough of your teeny little cross necklace!! So pretty!

Hey Kayley, It's so hot in Australia for Christmas so full flannel PJ are a no go. When I was little we would open our gifts in a nightie or light dressing gown (my mother would never have been allowed 5 mins for hair by us, sorry mum). Now, I like to get up and try to quickly make myself photo ready with your wonderful hair tutorials and a change of cute street clothes. Short and a tee or something like that. Merry Christmas 🎅🤶

I’m from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, in the heart of Amish country. Well, I’m technically in the city, but a lot of people don’t realize that Lancaster even has a city, but we actually have 60,000 people. Anyway, a lot of people around here seem to do something special for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My extended family usually gets together Christmas Eve for lots of food, including turkey and ham, and usually pumpkin or pecan pie, plus lots more. We all buy gifts for the children under 18 years old and have them open them at whichever relative’s house we’re gathering at. Then, we go home and get up in the morning and open presents at our own homes. My individual family wears whatever pajamas we fell out of bed in. Then, we might dress up a little, or just dress up the younger children, and go to my parents house and exchange more gifts there, and eat a big lunch which is usually similar to what we had the night before, such as turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pie, Christmas cookies, etc. I will say, it’s a nice idea to get dedicated pajamas so that the teenage boys in our house are wearing something that doesn’t have holes in it!😄
My family actually opens our presents on Christmas Eve! We get presents from Santa in the morning. Depends on the year, but we might still be dressed up from church, in pjs, or more regular clothes lol.

In my family you get to open 1 gift on christmas eve and most often it is pjs and slippers. since moving out of my parents house I have brought this tradition with me and do it with my boyfriend every year and hope to continue once we have kids.
My family does wear normal clothes. We celebrate both Christmas eve and Christmas day. On Christmas Eve we make our traditional holiday meal at our house, then My mom and I (plus the cats) open our presents on Christmas eve night and then open our stockings on Christmas morning. On Christmas day we spend at my Aunt's house and with our other family members. I am literally growing my hair out so I can do your tutorials instead of just watching them. I shaved all my hair off 9 months ago ( it was damaged) and my hair is very curly so I have ways to go before I can get to a good length.

Even though my siblings and I are in our 30’s, we still open presents Christmas morning under the tree at our parents house. And now with 3 new additions(my niece and nephews) It’s a nice tradition but I always wonder when we’ll stop doing that..

Usually just roll out of bed and literally do nothing but put my shoes and coat on, grab the presents and head to my parents at 9am every Christmas. Even though my siblings and I are in our 30’s, we still open presents Christmas morning under the tree at our parents house. And now with 3 new additions(my niece and nephews) It’s a nice tradition but I always wonder when we’ll stop doing that..
