Actually Guru hinted at it when he talked about how powerful a warrior Kami should have been when it was said that a Saiyan had killed him. the fusion with Nail further hinted that it could happen. I kind of agree it would have been a good ending, with the earth dragon balls not appearing to save the Namekians/Vegeta so at least getting rid of those but I enjoyed the Cell arc & seeing Gohan transform into Earth's new savior and I don't like when things are hinted at but never come to fruition.

@Uridien Wrong, because this was the first time a main character (Krillin) was actually killed by a villain and I remember, watching this as a kid, as very sad and shooking. Steven Paz Being a Z fighter and dying in dragon ball z actually seems pretty good. You get to spend a few months/years training with Gods with the certainty that you will be revived at some point. You can even take day long trips back to Earth when needed. The only downside is that you are stuck wearing a halo around your head.
Goku fires the coolest kamehamehas of all time, with tamborine he does it while using the power pole and with freeza he did it while punching him and with Kefla he did while sliding on her beam. The only kamehameha that's cooler than this would be Gohan's standing kamehameha against cell.

In-universe explanation: King Piccolo is literally made of the pure evil that was within the original Namekian. The children he would give birth to would likewise be corrupted evil spawns. Real life explanation: Toriyama most likely didn't have the idea of King Piccolo actually being an alien down yet, or the idea of Namekians in general. This was the arc where the idea of Goku being an alien came to him, and most likely Piccolo as well, but it's clear it wasn't an idea just yet, hence how different Demon King Piccolo is from the namekians we see later on.
I still find the idea was that flight (or "Dancing Sky Art") was a Crane School technique is pretty funny in retrospect. It's also humorous to remember that Piccolo once said his flight technique was different to Goku's, which allowed him to fly faster than the Nimbus could.
Well, this was before his training with Kami and Popo, who taught him about inner serenity and peace, and because of that, Goku became more and more reluctant to kill his enemies. Even though it wasn't revealed until Z, you can clearly see here that Goku's Saiyan blood boiled and lusted for revenge. That's the difference between young Goku and adult Goku.

Yeah the fight were much more interesting in OG Dragonball. Silly but also more creative. I feel like One Piece is more Dragonball than DBZ. Up until the whole haki thing, One Piece embodies the creative ways characters in Dragonball overcame challenges instead of the dumbass powerlevel shit. idk if it's about raising and training at all, really. There's such a clear power discrepancy between Dragon Ball and DBZ that afaik the only explanation is that half-Saiyan half-Human children are just naturally way stronger than either of their component parents' species. Gohan hadn't undergone any real training by the time Raditz shows up, and yet was able to draw on this vast well of power to become (temporarily) stronger than Goku or Piccolo and seriously wound Raditz. By the time Vegeta and Nappa show up, Gohan's potential is easily on-par with the rest of the Z fighters, who also get a substantial powerup after only a year or so of intense training. Tien and Yamcha at this time are both much stronger than King Piccolo, considering they fight on-par with a Raditz-level Saibaman, which means they're stronger than Piccolo was at the end of Dragon Ball/beginning of DBZ, who is stronger than King Piccolo was even after he got his youth/power back.

I wish I could think of an example of a kid character matching up to Gohan and hi brother, but it seems all the kids who matter are all half saiyain, save Marron. But she aint fighting no time soon. They are definitely not 4/5 years old, I don't know where you got that number other than just guessing based on Toriyama's art-style. Dragon Ball all happens within like 5-6 years, and Goku just somehow triples in height between age 12 and 17/18.

Goku’s power level wasn’t nearly as high at the time. Plus the Super Saiyan wasn’t even a written thing in the story until much much later. Goku wasn’t even aware that he was an alien at this point.

In-universe explanation: King Piccolo is literally made of the pure evil that was within the original Namekian. The children he would give birth to would likewise be corrupted evil spawns.
Real life explanation: Toriyama most likely didn't have the idea of King Piccolo actually being an alien down yet, or the idea of Namekians in general. This was the arc where the idea of Goku being an alien came to him, and most likely Piccolo as well, but it's clear it wasn't an idea just yet, hence how different Demon King Piccolo is from the namekians we see later on.

Yeah the fight were much more interesting in OG Dragonball. Silly but also more creative. I feel like One Piece is more Dragonball than DBZ. Up until the whole haki thing, One Piece embodies the creative ways characters in Dragonball overcame challenges instead of the dumbass powerlevel shit. Unfortunately as the aformentioned haki was introduced into One Piece, that show became more like DBZ than OG Dragonball.

idk if it's about raising and training at all, really. There's such a clear power discrepancy between Dragon Ball and DBZ that afaik the only explanation is that half-Saiyan half-Human children are just naturally way stronger than either of their component parents' species. Gohan hadn't undergone any real training by the time Raditz shows up, and yet was able to draw on this vast well of power to become (temporarily) stronger than Goku or Piccolo and seriously wound Raditz.
By the time Vegeta and Nappa show up, Gohan's potential is easily on-par with the rest of the Z fighters, who also get a substantial powerup after only a year or so of intense training. Tien and Yamcha at this time are both much stronger than King Piccolo, considering they fight on-par with a Raditz-level Saibaman, which means they're stronger than Piccolo was at the end of Dragon Ball/beginning of DBZ, who is stronger than King Piccolo was even after he got his youth/power back.

I wish I could think of an example of a kid character matching up to Gohan and hi brother, but it seems all the kids who matter are all half saiyain, save Marron. But she aint fighting no time soon. Videl comes close, but I highly doubt she could measure up to DK Piccolo

she just learned to use Ki when Gohan started training her, at age 18. and goku was already using ki at age 4/5, when he learned the kame hame ha by watching Roshi doing it once.
edit: I take back the bit about being a little bit more strong than yamcha. only by the fact that any person able to use ki is stronger than anyone that doesn't use Ki by default.

@ Goku and Krillin are 12 years old during their training with Master Roshi. They are definitely not 4/5 years old, I don't know where you got that number other than just guessing based on Toriyama's art-style. Dragon Ball all happens within like 5-6 years, and Goku just somehow triples in height between age 12 and 17/18.

Goku’s power level wasn’t nearly as high at the time. Plus the Super Saiyan wasn’t even a written thing in the story until much much later. Goku wasn’t even aware that he was an alien at this point.
