Rick Nelson was the first pop singer to be branded by Life magazine as a “teen idol”. He was 17. He was the first to experience teen mania, as he traveled to do concerts on the weekends after having recorded the O&H show for the week. He also had to spend lots of time in the recording studio-all very similar to DC’s schedule. I don’t think he ever had a real problem with all of this or his “idol” image, as his parents made sure to keep him grounded. He always showed great appreciation for his fans until his tragic death. Fame is a dangerous pedestal: it lifts you up as high as possible to its precarious tip top, where you must constantly balance yourself to keep from falling, and if/when you lose your step, down you go, faster, farther than you had climbed and into more pieces than you ever imagined. You must have a support system to help you keep your balance, people you can trust, who you will allow to be honest with you. And even with that, the choices are still up to you. That’s just too heavy for some to bear.
Great continuity at the end, David Essex singing we gonna make you a star!!! two heart throbs for the price of one, the two Davids, my teen idol era!!
“I’ll sign a picture of anybody.”
He’s hilarious. ❤

Difference between the two Pop idols David Cassidy and Ricky Nelson is David Cassidy was merchandised and also the size of David's fan base
Thanks for sharing these Cheryl !!
Thank you so much for sharing this programme, Cheryl. DC, my first heartthrob and Kilroy, back in the day 😍 A nice way to start the day. 😁👍🏽👌🏽
This was great!! Little boy almost made me cry. Lol
A beautiful angel in heaven. Love u X X
Bless you David Cassidy
Thanks! really nice clip!
it's freaky when the little boy is interviewed and the man is constantly rubbing on him... something is not right about that
Adults can be so insensitive
Jimmy saville had done this also and we all know how he turned out
@Yocha Like Jim, Kiljoy’ll fix it!…
I agree. The boy looked uncomfortable, suspicious.
