Nicely done! Back in the day when I had a mark one caddy, I built door boards for the front doors. Worked incredibly well and had two 6” drivers per door with electric windows and tweeters on the dash. Was a really good setup
Those metal grills will block some of the sound and the carpet will muffle them top end, should have used an acoustic cloth to cover it, the standard carpet you used will not allow the air to flow and reduce bass reproduction. I appreciate it probably wouldn’t look factory then though

Good luck to the poor old tailgate gas strut once the shelf is hanging off it. Things I'd have done differently, move the speakers nearer the front edge of the shelf, It'll lower the burden on the gas strut, and I'd have run both sets of speaker wire to one side and used a single 4 pin plug for both speakers.. Otherwise, nice job.
If the gas strut isn’t up to it I will upgrade the strut 🤷🏼♂️ wired it up the way it is as the wires are already in the car so putting them both to one side would have meant taking the interior out and running new cables.

Well worth it to amp those 6x9's you'd be surprised how loud and clean they sound running full power.
Will be amping them when I get some spare cash. Just invested a fair bit in the next mod 👀

Hardest part of a restauration is how to patch up 6x9” holes in the parcel shelf. This makes no sense to me.
