I'm with you guys on all of the pipes instruments, Bagpipes, Uilleann, Northumbrian, love the sound of them all. Their fascinating history, beginning in the ancient near/middle east with musicians depicted as playing multiple flutes (presumably one for drone, one for melody) eventually developing in what we recognise as a bagpipe. The instrument migrating west until reaching these isles, falling out of style on the mainland but finding a more permanent home here. Recommend checking out Kathryn Tickell's fantastic Northumbrain pipes videos when you have a chance!
