Hey Flying Scotsman. Yeah, i had a job @ 16 in a local grocery store. Everything i earned went on vinyl at that time. Some great stores in Edinburgh at the time. Cockburn Street and just beyond was a fucker then. Nice to see the Exploited hanging out on the steps also.
I‘ve been at a Melvins show a couple years ago and before the concert the soundman was blasting this song over the PA at a great volume. What a nice surprise! Hadn‘t heard this song for couple decades and it blew me right back to my teenage years. Fucking great!

Since I just posted Made In Britain with its rousing soundtrack by The Exploited, might as well delve a little deeper into their catalog. A few punk bands already existed in Scotland as early as 1977-78 but it surely was The Exploited that firmly planted the Scottish punk banner into the public's consciousness. (The Rezillos' incredible single I Can't Stand My Baby in 1977 did it for me.) The Exploited debuted in 7/'80 with Army Life/Fuck the Mods, so right away you knew this band was pure punk aggression. They followed with 2 e.p.'s, some comp tracks and then their landmark first lp Punks Not Dead (5/81) And in Sept of that year came this tremendous e.p. It has a huge, steamrolling sound that really crushes when heard on the original vinyl. Saw them in their prime here in New York. Wattie Bucchan, vocals, Big John, gtr, Gary, b, and Dru, dr. Wattie put out an unbelievably intense performance and the band was totally smoking! One of the very best punk shows I've ever seen.
SalDOWN Thanks for your nice comment. Yes, I was very lucky to see the Exploited when I was younger. It was at a place called Great Gildersleeves and it was there I also saw Black Flag and Minor Threat, among others. Let me tell you, it was an honor to get spit on by Wattie at that show. If I remember correctly he was a gob master then. I've left lots of comments on mostly punk music on my channel. If you punch up willieluncheonette google + you can see them. Thanks again, buddy.
willieluncheonette No problem man. My favourite Exploited album is the Troops of tomorrow and Live at Palm Cove 1983 (super raw stage presence plus a lot of spitting :-D ) I saw the Exploited three times (2007, 2009, 2012) > the best show was the 2007 one and I have two videos from that on my channel. I was expecting a little more, but we are all getting older, so I knew it would not be with a pure power of the 80's Wattie.
A few Scottish punk groups existed in 1977-78 but it took The Exploited to hammer Scotland into the punk consciousness. {The Rezillos' I Can't Stand My Baby did it for me in 1977} The Exploited debuted in July 1980 with Army Life/Fuck the Mods. Two more singles followed, some comp tracks and then their landmark album, Punks Not Dead {May 1981} And in Sept. came this e.p., one of the all time great punk releases. This very well recorded VINYL will thrill you with its colossal steamrolling sound!
Speaking of which,I remember Captial Radio's disco doyen Greg Edwards giving this record a slagging on air,and I seem to remember Tony Blackburn having a slight go as well on Radio 1.
