Hello thank you for the video I have some questions around the failover during synchronous and asynchronous between sites first I guess is is it possible to create an auto failover between sites with asynchronous mode and second would synchronous be an option at all if we had a steady dedicated vpn tunnel between sites with a reliable ping?
Hi, yes, in order to configure auto failover the nodes need to be is synchronous mode. And, yes, you could have nodes with different synchronous/asynchronous setting. I would definitely suggest making sure the network connectivity is reliable. If you have more questions please let me know!
I'm not an expert on communications infrastructure, but leased lines are advertised to be reliable. And in some cases, you can get an SLA from your provider to assure the leased line is available so you may want to investigate that if your requirements are critical.
Have a question about Always On Availability Groups? Feel free to drop it below!
Hi, my question is i got confused. Were you talking about AlwaysOn or Traditional failover cluster?
@@clemmomachizo1495 Hi -This video discusses the SQL Server Always On feature
A live demo in SQL Management Studio would be nice. Just having slides is a bit dull.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll see if I can put something together for you!
