I had a radiant cycles gp pipe for my 99 gsxr 750 SRAD but switched over and never did install it. Is the radiant cycles basically a straight pipe even witht the woll packing and the fiberglass bro
Pretty much a short straight pipe / delete. Doesn't really add to any back pressure by itself, but with the baffle it certainly helps. It really does look nice, and depending on the bike allows for more bag options, leg space, less weight, etc.
Nothing to extend, but slimming one side down so it slightly is placed within a couple inches into the exhaust / headers. The Fibreglass wrap should keep it from moving, but I just kept trimming it down slightly till it was a nice tight fit! It is actually longer than the Radiant slip on though. Hope that helps!
Yeah for sure! fortnine.ca/en/drag-specialties-exhaust-baffle (1 3/4"). Drilled a hole so the screw will make the baffle stay in place better than just friction. As the smaller hole has more pressure, wanted to make sure it won't ever pop out haha.
@@burgessfamilyvideos The one from Radiant Cycles doesn't actually baffle sound well at all. This one baffles the sound and gives a much nicer slightly deeper tone. In person it is quite noticeable!
@@meegiki I ordered the same baffle from Revzilla and installed today. What a world of difference - thanks for this video, was exactly the solution to the ridiculously loud shorty! I have a Rebel 300 2022 and it fit perfectly thanks to the same size header pipe of the 500. However, you’re right - uncut, it sticks out. I’ll ride it around like this anyway until I can get a proper cutter. Happy New Year!
That one doesn't muffle sound well, or almost not at all. My camera mic I think was too close, but the difference in person is significant. It is seriously about half as loud, and because of my quick detachable bags I could only use the shorty or a slip on that didn't attach to the rear passenger peg. Hope that helps!
I only asked bc I have the same exact pipe and baffle for my gsxr 600 but haven’t had the chance to try it on. From what I hear these things are just super loud and obnoxious. I was hoping the baffle would help eliminate noise as well as the need to modify non specific parts to fit
@@killswitchmoto214 It definitely is more quiet, and allows me to ride in the evenings without annoying my neighbours ah ha. In the Idle, Low - Mid RPMs notice about half as loud as before. The Mid - High RPMs you get that nice rev sound that is only a bit more baffled, which I think works perfect! I'm not quite sure for the need to dyno, but I never did and it actually runs the same as the stock muffler installed. Plus it was only $14 here in Canada to test out so worked out ah ha!
@@killswitchmoto214 Rode for about a year and a half without the baffle, did not get pulled over.. but got many an awkward stare ah ha. Have the V&H short shots on my Shadow and I'm switching the stock baffle for these ones on a warm day or spring. On a mountain ride it just echoed in the canyon, and I'm an ear plug wearer but the short shots are still too much. The Shorty GP on the 500 though in the video you can wear without ear plugs for sure, it's been great!
I just installed the baffle, your video made it so easy! It's quieter and way less expensive than buying a whole new muffler. Thank you!
Awesome glad the video was helpful!
just installed this radiant shorty baffle on my 2020 Rebel ABS, yep for $15 CAD it is much quieter, thanks regards from Toronto
I just got mine . I ordered the Radiant Cycles GP Shorty baffle/cat for $15 as well.
Gonna run this setup on my Ducati monster 600! It’s far to quiet stock
MAN!! FINALLY DID IT LIKE IT SHOULD TNX LOT
I think I might do this for mine.
What if I just stick some steel wool in it?
Probably will shoot back out, but if you mean in place of the fiberglass wrap will vibrate and wear out the inside of the slip on.
Did you ever try leaving the fiberglas in to see what that sounds like?
The fibreglass is in actually, just I didn't need a new one and is a bit dirty ah ha!
So, the video shows the baffle with the Fiberglas, not just the bare metal baffle?
@@LenAdams With the fiberglass wrap yes. Although my Camera & Mic setup isn't too great, in person the sound difference is quite significant.
Good evening!! Where do you get the Brown saddle bag?? Looks great!!
They are custom from TheBressket on Facebook! Had to order them online, actual leather & amazing quality bags!
@@meegiki thanks for the info. Safe riding!!
Hello, Do you still have the link to where you bought the baffles?
Hi, sorry yes I do! fortnine.ca/en/drag-specialties-exhaust-baffle It is the 1 3/4" Baffle!
@@meegiki thank you for your help. I bought these and my shorties are much better. Thanks again.

Do you have something extending the shorty muffler? I have the same things you have but my baffle is about 2 inches longer than the shorty muffler.

Can you link the baffle? And what did you use drill for?

@@meegiki Curious, how come you didn't buy the baffle from Radiant that's made for the Shorty?
@@burgessfamilyvideos The one from Radiant Cycles doesn't actually baffle sound well at all. This one baffles the sound and gives a much nicer slightly deeper tone. In person it is quite noticeable!
Did you have to shorten the baffle? If so how do you get the end piece that you cut the edges off back on?
Not to shorten the baffle really, but rather making the baffle slightly slimmer at one end! still in the shape of IIII---------I
Is trimming the baffle at 1:07 a necessary step?
For this bike yes, likely because of the slip on size you may need to trim it.
There could be an instance of a bike not needing the trim though.
