Shutting down the government is not the answer. They still get paid, but shortly thereafter, the military pay is affected, social security is affected, etc.

Or before that when they went from supporting the mission to deal with Global Warning to outright denying it. Or maybe when it comes to economics, Reagan handed off mass debt for a Democrat to fix, just so Bush could hand off mass debt and a Great Recession for a Democrat to fix, only so Trump could hand off an economic meltdown for another Democrat to fix. They began digging this hole well before 7 or 8 years ago.

There is. It is called 'Motion to Vacate'. A member of the House can file a 'Motion to Vacate' the Speakers chair. Then the House votes. Problem is, as has been proven previously, there is no decent Republican to replace Moscow Mike.

I could not be more pleased. When the GOP shuts the government down, I must still honor my contract. I won't be paid though. When the government fires back up again, I don't get any missed pay.
