  • When your name is Gildas Arzel, a name that sounds like the echo of a bombard in the sea mist, when you tune your guitar in DADGAD before you know how to write, Celtic music is not even learned, it is recited. And then there was the blues and its derivatives...
Not an artist from the contemporary music scene can claim, except to have been practicing baroque music or the Bantu harp for 60 years, to have been spared the strike force of the American media and their lots of alluring delicacies. As a child, Gildas Arzel discovered an album by John Fogerty who, freed from the community contingencies of Creedance Clearwater, had given birth to an unclassifiable project, bringing together the titles that had touched him himself when he was in short pants... And the we found there blues, rhythm'n'blues, gospel, bluegrass, tex-mex, swing, country, cajun, old-time, so many genres that hang around according to the tracks of this album.
