Nice try to make this transformer. But there are some things which can be done properly.
You can prepare core Assembly by putting strip holes all on corner at four directions. By this you can assemble through holes of strip.
Winding on ready bobbin helps you to rigid your coil.
Copper wires are best for heat intensity.
You can use bakelite sheet instead wood for top mounting of points
Use brass screw for better conductivity
agreed i couldnt believe it when i saw them use the pcs of wood. like facepalm what happens when moisture finally takes that wood out its going to short out for sure

in north america...no...anywhere else in the world? as long is it has the proper amperage on the circuit. usa only has 110 volt due to split phase 220

Nice Coil. But, 'I think, maybe you should've used a Larger Copper Wire. In your next Video, maybe you could Build a High Frequency Unit to go along with this Welding Machine so you can Weld Aluminum. Just a thought. Wouldn't (KAPTON TAPE) been a better choose than what you used? One more question Mate. Isn't that Insulate Tape your using really just (Lamp Wick)? Thanks for the upload.

Kapton tapes are expensive for this type of transformer there are insulation papers which are very good at its place
Socond cotton tapes are just for rigidity to the winding.

Yes, black metal sheet is choice, though.
Electrical steel is the best option for this normal steel has much addy current which will generate more heat to your transformer

hi i sow all your videos all they are very interesting. because of your video i become inspired to make welding machine. i tied to make welding machine i winded a welding machine transformer where i test it the breaker automatically make it off . i can not understand where the t problem is.
i used 4.2 copper wire for secondary coil and 1.4 for primary coil. the length of the secondary coil is 28.8 meter and the primary coil length is 63 meter. would you please tell me me the expected fault or mistakes pleas?

2. Primary wire gauge will be 3mm.
3. Secondary wire gauge will be 7mm.
4. Primary and Secondary turn ratio more than extra of calculation.
Then it will be a giant welding machine and highly professional machine.
