Lovely to see Anne Boleyn in here. I always, very ridiculously, find myself apologising every time I have to deadhead her ...... 😅 but I also find myself singing "Bring me Sunshine" when I'm working with her as well .... I probably need help.
❤❤❤ I’m going to add the beautiful Eustacia Vye rose to my “must buy” list‼️ I’m wanting this lovely rose, plus I must also have the beautiful Munstead Wood rose for my pot collection‼️Thank you so much Ben‼️🥰❤️ Debbie ~ Texas 🇺🇸
Love this review it helps me select smaller sizes , I am encouraged now to try Scarborough Fair smaller in size for small spaces maybe in the future Anne Boleyn & Eustacia Vye so happy this rose review popped up, thank you Gardner Ben! 🌹🌼🏵️💐🌹
Thank you so much Ben ! I’m from Canada and I just purchased this beautiful port sunlight today and worried about limited space and sunlight in my garden but u help me to solved the problems! Really appreciate and I just subscribed your channel! U r amazing
Dear Ben I love watching your videos but could you film them in normal landscape format which would make watching much easier and fill the screen. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I’m really sorry but it’s simply not possible I’m not your average TH-camr I’m actually an Instagram are bringing across constant from a different channel if it’s easier for you to view it there please feel free to follow it and watch the videos and content produced on Instagram All of my media is produced to be watched on a small handheld device and not on a laptop or PC
Once again a fantastic review! Thank you so much for the video, I'm somewhat chuffed I have a few on my terrace(Eustacia, Elizabeth and Boscobel. The country Parson should arrive this weekend). Really getting addicted to your videos, Ben!
Thank you! I have experienced a lot of challenges with Olivia Rose Austin in containers or the ground...Princess Anne is thriving in ground/harsh sun...going to try something else in my large patio containers.
How cold do you think the pot cold get before it killed the rose inside? We get down to 20 below Fehrenheit some winters. I have apple and current bushes that have survived this during the winter in a pot, but I worry the roses would be more delicate. Thank you for the lovely video.
Thank you for your video. The roses are beautiful. Can you tell me which yellow roses are the most scented and if they could also be potted. Should I bring them indoors for our cold New York winters ? Thank you very much.
There are several Graham Thomas, the county parson and the poets wife, Graham Thomas and the county parson can be grown in pots and they should be left outside in the winter you may need wrap the pots you are growing them in bubble wrap to keep off the worst of New York Winters
Been growing Austin roses, Sting brings beautiful fragrant rose's, Only this Summer I get 2nd&3rd flush, but little fragrance ? It's been very hot and no rain. Been out their with the hose and do feed , mulch. Any ideas? Ian
Hi I'm a rookie with roses LOL I was wondering if you can grow climbing roses in pots also? I am starting to James Galloway in a pot and if so is there certain care I need to do?
I don’t really advise it the pots need to be BIG, James Galway will need a container at least 120 x 100cm Deep planting in the ground is more advisable
Hi there, Could you please recommend which one out of my 3 bare roots to plant in the pot vs in the garden: Bring me Sunshine, Earth Angel perfuma, or Scepter'd Isle? Thanks!
@@tanyam1206 there are lots of videos here for you to watch on TH-cam about the potting of roses. Do you want to put some crocs stones or gravel into the bottom of the pot and then yes there are also videos here about how to maintain the rose permanently, including top dressing and mulching of the pot here for you to watch on TH-cam.
It is very much depend on the size of pot we’re talking about and of course the variety of rows I would never suggest mixing varieties more often than not the most vigourous ones will overpower the others so you can plant multiple roses of the same variety in the pot if it’s large enough
Play growing roses in containers you need to use high quality, Pete free Loam based compost something along the lines of a John innings number three which you can top dress with organic based compost every year Depending on where you are in the world and how cold it gets, I would leave your roses exposed to the elements. They can quite happily take well down into the minus figures.
@@the_gardenerben Amen and thank you once again! I have 6 David Austin roses I ordered bare root (thanks to you and your channel here) and am now out of room so using large pots to fulfill the rest of my rose addiction needs. lol. This video was great and your wonderful suggestions have helped SO much. Now....on to a suggestion for a future video. I live in the USA Zone 6....our winters CAN get fairly cold. Ben, you have fans all over the world and a video about winterizing potted plants would be SO appreciated. Thank you in advance. xo
Thank you for this video! You mentioned a minimum container size to use. I have roses in 40-45cm pots. Do you recommend pruning the roots every few years and using fresh potting mix, or is top dressing enough?
Flower Rose it's beautiful
Thanks Ben - which of all these has the strongest scent. Thanks Ben.
Hi, does your question particularly relate to which of the roses in this collection has the strongest fragrance or in general?
Ok do In fragrance, ranking of the roses included in this selection would be
The country Parson
Harlow Carr
Eustacia vye
Boscobel
I'm just watching enjoy
Thank you Ben for this and all your videos; your unbiased appraisals of the roses are useful and much appreciated.
God bless you more

@@romilly99 lol I think the same when I’m deadhead the lady Salisbury who famously took eight swings of the ax to lose her head
@the_gardenerben Yes! At least Anne didn't have that! 😅

Can you add Roald Dahl to chapters (position 1:24) and fix "Eustacia Vye" spelling? Thanks for your great reviews!

Same! They are the best videos. My kids know your voice now because I have them running in the background as I clean!😂
This is very helpful as there are so many Austin roses and it’s difficult to know which are truly happy in a pot and perform well.

Подскажите, можно ли к розе в контейнере подсадить Девичий виноград, или вьющееся растение? Совместимы ли они в одном горшке? Спасибо

Have you tried Tamora? She is one of my favorite Austin's for a pot. Apricot with a beautiful fragrance.
It’s not one I’ve ever seen
About how old are your rose bushes that you show on this video? Beautiful 😍
They vary I never talk about a rose I’ve not had for at least 15-18 months some are up to 8 years old now

Ben, does the ane boleyn rose flowers last long? Or does the petals fall off with every rain?
A/b holds quite well but it’s not something that can be really calculated

The heat wipes the fragrance out of everything

Root pruning in not a technique I’ve ever used i top dress instead
@@the_gardenerben thank you; I’ll try your method. I definitely would rather not have to empty and repot those large, heavy pots!
I heard that you shouldnt put scourses underneath pots because the plant will suck up the old water and it will rot the roots..so j took them al away
What is the reason that David Austin struggle to introduce a red rose with a strong fragrance?
I have a feeling they're not keen on red :D
Im afraid I don’t know
