    Lovely to see Anne Boleyn in here. I always, very ridiculously, find myself apologising every time I have to deadhead her ...... 😅 but I also find myself singing "Bring me Sunshine" when I'm working with her as well .... I probably need help.

    Hi I'm a rookie with roses LOL I was wondering if you can grow climbing roses in pots also? I am starting to James Galloway in a pot and if so is there certain care I need to do?

    • @the_gardenerben
      @the_gardenerben  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t really advise it the pots need to be BIG, James Galway will need a container at least 120 x 100cm
      Deep planting in the ground is more advisable

    • @the_gardenerben
      @the_gardenerben  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Play growing roses in containers you need to use high quality, Pete free Loam based compost something along the lines of a John innings number three which you can top dress with organic based compost every year
      Depending on where you are in the world and how cold it gets, I would leave your roses exposed to the elements. They can quite happily take well down into the minus figures.

This video was great and your wonderful suggestions have helped SO much. Now....on to a suggestion for a future video. I live in the USA Zone 6....our winters CAN get fairly cold. What kind of protection do my potted roses need? I do have a large unheated sunroom I could move them into if need be, but then do they need to be watered all winter if the temperature is above freezing? Ben, you have fans all over the world and a video about winterizing potted plants would be SO appreciated. Thank you in advance. xo

      It is very much depend on the size of pot we’re talking about and of course the variety of rows I would never suggest mixing varieties more often than not the most vigourous ones will overpower the others so you can plant multiple roses of the same variety in the pot if it’s large enough
