  • Thanks to Mark-David Bloodgood, Carlos Gonzalez, Roman Meija, Takumi Miyake for help on the names of the steps.
One of my favorite steps for men is a scissor jeté and its variant with a full turn. When done well these are spectacular, a whirlwind of complicated movement, all done in about a second. The step, particularly with a full turn makes ballet fans gasp in appreciation and say, “WOW!!! That was great! What is it? This video breaks down these complicated steps to their basic elements to give ballet fans and dancers an appreciation of the steps. I provide preeminent examples from some of the world’s finest dancers.
