this video is broken up into 5 parts:
    1. how to find your skin undertone (warm, cool, neutral, or olive). (apologies, i don't discuss neutral much.)
    2. review of the seasonal color analysis system (are you a winter, summer, spring, or autumn?)
    3. review of the artistic license color system (are you cool or warm? bright or delicate?)
    4. how to intuitively assess your best color
    5. how to use canva to test all colors against your skin tone
people with olive skin undertones are not clearly warm nor cool toned. instead, they may suffer from looking green, ghastly, or having a pallor because of the mix of blues and yellows in their skin. some widely accepted color-matching systems (seasonal color analysis and the artistic license color system) may fall short for people with olive undertones because of the rigid adherence to the warm vs. cool camps. as an asian person with olive undertones, i was mismatched my whole life as a warm-toned person, but am now realizing that i am actually best suited with slightly cool colors.
ultimately, i think many asian folks with an olive undertone that is slightly cool, who have light skin and dark hair, can be best suited for deep, cool tones, like navy blue, eggplant, and emerald. your results may vary based on your skin's subtle warmth or coolness, your skin and hair color, as well as your personal style. if this interests you, consider trying the canva experiment to find the color(s) that make you look most radiant!

points in this video that can help any warm pale olive type skin owner such as myself
    1) veins around eyes and wrists are blue whereas on body they are green
    2) paper white does not suit you and clashes with your complexion whereas ivory and yellowish off whites look good on you
    3) yellow toned warm toned makeup looks too orange on you but neutral or cool looks too pink
    4) in wither you are never too pale but is quite yellow. In summer the tan does not go orangey-brownish-reddish but goes this desert sand or grayish tone of darker brown
    5) natural hair color is warm or cool depending on the lighting (in sun it looks bronze reddish brown and in some indoor lighting it looks ashy)
    6) you can pull off many colours of clothing, exept some that look just wrong and dont give you anything special
    7) blue/gray eyeshadow does not fit :D
    8) level 8-7 yellowy blonde (is too the same with your skin color) or reddish-caramel-strawberry blonde does not fit because it washes you out, but a bit more neutral caramel hair or dirty blonde or cool platinum suits you well, bevcause these have enough contrast with the skin
    9) fuchsia looks awful, and contrary to some ..navy blue does not add to your beauty
    10) some muted yellow tones suit you really well (daffodil, babana, butter, mustard) and some are just horrid (lemon, neon yellow,)
    11) many warm and neutral and even slightly cool pink tones suit you if they dont lean too much into cool or neon
    12) gold suits you better than silver but red gold suits you even better than yellow gold because it has more contrast with your skin
    ...anyone can add on

"Ashy olive" I have the same skin as you, but a little redder on the cheeks. I avoid very vivid colors, and the edges of the spectrum especially warm tones(peach/salmon can somewhat work but orange and brown are bad and only adds to the yellow pigment in my skin). Brightness has no effect on me however. I can go lighter or darker, as long as they're neutral-cool-calm. Though I always go for cooler, pale pastels or white. Hi. If your skintone is similar to hers, and you look good in coral & olive green, you may be a soft autumn (SA) . You may also be able to wear some colors in the soft summer (SSu) palette. SA & SSu are sister seasons & may borrow colors from one another. I think I've seen a vid which said that many olive skinned people are muted/ habr soft coloring. Just Google the soft autumn & soft summer palettes. Hope that helps.

I definitely am more leaning towards warm muted olive since my skin has a lot of yellow in it, but I never felt like my skin was truly warm. I look too sickly to truly be warm. It's also such a struggle to find the correct foundation shade: Most drugstore foundations in Germany are pretty cool toned and too dark for me. The few other options are too yellow and also too dark. I always look for something extremely pale, olive, with yellow in it and I haven't found it yet. I love your approach to it, that even if our best colors are probably more saturated, we might not always want to be in something so loud. I’ve always gravitated towards bright saturated jewel tones but being a neutral that tends towards cool, I’m right in that section where deep autumn meets deep winter and even though there are more color options, there’s also more chances to make slight mistakes

THANK YOU for this video. Louder for the forgotten Asians in the back!!!! 🥰
I’ve had MUF give me pink foundations due to the redness on my face from acne flare ups, where I’ll then have a red face placed on a green body; and MUF sloppily give me ‘warm’ foundations that turn orange in 10 minutes and make my face 3 shades darker than the rest of my body...
I have a nail polish addiction and every time I put on turquoise (or teal in general) lacquer, I gasp at how alive and vibrant I look. Even before figuring out real my skin tone, years ago, when my mum and I would go shopping, she’d compliment on how turquoise dresses and jewelry look on me. Now it all makes sense!!

Another thing I discovered about my olive skin is how blushes just tend to "disappear" on my cheeks, as time goes on they just blend in with my skin tone even after reapplying. I don't really blush naturally, even after intense workout. That maybe another sign of olive skin tone? Now I discover that the flashy tones look more vibrant on my cheekbones instead of "apples of the cheeks". This is really a self discovery journey, at the end of the day we see how ourselves don't really fit into the boxes.

in a lot of sleepover/community gathering, things I often hear my friends say is "you took a shower already? you don't like one." because I don't look fresh without makeup -_- I always thought, oh maybe I need a brightening, to look more fair. But then I find Audrey's video here: th-cam.com/video/uEYWhFYTEcE/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=AudreyCoyne
the first time I noticed the problem with me finding a proper shade is thru that video. As a Chinese-Indonesian where our skin are so diverse from fair to dark we're not familiar with the word "olive", it's always been "kuning langsat" which literally translate to "yellow", and even store clerks often offer me shades closer to pinkish fair skin, just because i'm "lighter". But now because I know I am olive, it's easier for me to find a shade that suits me coz apparently the local makeup are creating for skin like myself!
well, I'm glad I found this video... It gives me a lot of insight of loving the skin we're in, and I love your voice! Olives need more love

Hi. The YT algorithm brought me here. Thanks for the vid, very interesting. Based on your canva "drapes", I think you're a soft summer, since you lean cool. You can also use some soft autumn colors, like that dusty rose/ red, which is more of soft autumn. SA/ SSu is in the 12 season system. In the 16 season system (used by Carol Brailey, she has a channel too), there's a "true muted" sesson, which is between SA & SSu. I think some winter/ dark winter colors are too dark for you, since you're more muted (cool & delicate). Hope that helps.

Thank you for this, I look yellow next to cool toned people and so pale next to warm. This all makes sense now. Growing up everyone told me I couldn't have olive skin, because I am so pale. I even got laughed at and humiliated in school by a teacher. I am still not sure if I'm warm or cool... Or even if I'm olive toned. I think am more cool, but look better in gold and rose gold (I get a lot of compliments from my gold/amber framed glasses) I feel like silver is disconnected and too harsh. But maybe I'm wrong about that, I'll have to try silver again and see. Maybe my skin is warm but my undertone is cool if that's even possible haha
