The reason why Knecht is viewed as a higher level prospect is because he is a shot creator more than Schierman. Knecht is a 3 level scorer. Knecht is also far more athletic and stronger. Knecht is 230 pounds. Schierman can be good in his role but he won’t score as well as well as Knecht will.
Knecht is not hidden on UT's defense. He was a liability on defense early on and it showed up in the Kansas and Purdue games, but as the season has gone on he has improved a lot. Other than the A&M game last month, Knecht has not been an issue on defense. DK hasn't become some defensive stalwart, his effort could improve at times, and he still loses guys on screens and switches, and against quick smaller 2 guards, DK can get exposed a bit not moving his feet and keeping guys from slashing downhill, but to say he is getting hidden on defense and has made a deal with Rick Barnes to just be a scorer and do very little on defense is just patently wrong. He has gone from a liability on defense to an average SEC defender which i'd say is some tremendous growth. He shows a lot of potential to grow as a defender in the NBA and not be a liability on the defensive end.
It would seem pretty on brand to bring him in to Utah and see him carve out a successful role there.
I see about 6 or 7 guys being drafted from Kentucky.
Leif you sold me on Scheierman... Moving him up a peg. Spot on with Dillingham and Edey
Barlowe and me usually see eye to eye but Edey and Sarr are just night and day. Edey is a stud, he sees a scrub. Sarr is this unicorn at the 5 to him, I don't see a 5 at all, I think he's terrible as a 5 and preferred Wiseman who I projected would be a bust. That said, I do like Sarr to a degree, just not as a big. He got less big man abilities than Bamba and Wiseman. You can't convince me Sarr is worth a damn as a 5.
His value is his versatility.
Edey is a Boban impersonator.
(Wiseman always sucked fucking shit, Sarr is an infinitely better prospect.)
