Its actually a blessing in disguise. If they suck at hiring, imagine how bad they are in the organization?

Had an employer call me after I interviewed a month and some change ago to make me an offer and I turned it down. Reason why is because they had no integrity. If you say your going to call me back in a certain time frame I expect that decency to get a call back in that time frame. This is not about having an ego this is about principle & respect.

I've been ghosted 5 times this year from employers, usually after 2-3 interviews, which is insane. I've seen people complain about employees quitting without regard, but to me the employers are much more ruthless & careless. They truly DGAF lol One adapation i've learned through dating & business is "If they wanted to they would" so ease yourself from being desperate and/or emailing them so much. If they wanted you, they woud've chosen you. Move on, your time is coming!

90% of modern recruiters/hiring managers are lazy or incompetent. It takes a couple of seconds to send out an email thanking candidates for their time and wishing them luck. At this point in time candidates can give feed back on review forums like Google reviews, Indeed.. even Yelp. Be respectful yet honest and don't name individuals but let the world know that this company ghosted you and give them a negative review. It's funny a couple of years ago I read a negative review about a company ghosting a candidate but decided to interview with them anyway. Low and behold they did the same thing to me. I left them a negative review detailing my experience and YEARS later the CEO of the company replied to my post apologizing and asking if I would like to do another interview. I had already moved on but that is an example of holding companies accountable for bad behavior.

That’s exactly what I’m planning to do now with glass door for anyone looking for a job there.

Reminds me of the time I was walking a literal 5 miles to apply for jobs. The extent of the 5 miles was a Frys Eletronics store. Ghosted every time. I got my job having a link up with a friend. Keep applying at different places, take the offer that pays you the most.

Comparing a job application to dating is like comparing apples to oranges. Bad example. Nothing is wrong with being keen about a position you're excited about - two weeks was definitely a toss up but it doesn't hurt to send a message still showing interest.

And yet Ken is upset when employees ghost their employers/recruiters. We’ve had enough of the hypocrisy.

Exactly, he was furious at employees ghosting their former employer but when the shoe is on the other foot we should just “handle it positively” and just “move on”

Its 2023 they just should just tell you that you didnt get the job instead of wasting peoples time and leading them i dont understanding how this is still acceptable in todays world.

You have to have dignity. Those are signs of how they deal with issues in the company just by ignoring them.

I'm going through this with a Supervisor right now. I work for a Company where I went from the Top Agent, to the very bottom and I don't know what I did, or how to fix it, as no one will answer my emails or phone calls. It's like they have planned to make my work life a Hell so that I'll just quit! I believe it's called 'Quiet Firing". Thank you SO much for this video, I so needed to hear this today.

With modern HR systems, I imagne it's an easy process to send a note to applicants who didn't get the job. Yet, many don't bother. Its very unprofessional.

I feel like before he got cut off he was going to say "Chasing these flakey managers around is making me go broke!"

At the end of the most recent interview find out their timeframe for the next step.
If you don’t hear anything by then, follow up once. If you still don’t get anything, keep it moving and don’t sweat it or look back.
    You probably dodged a bullet!

You could do what I did when Chase bank ghosted me after 5 interviews --- stop doing all business with them.

Dear The Coleman Show: I'm just now learning about this. I was interviewed offered a job at the end of the interview. But in my case I was sent the on boarding package and completed it even my social security number and direct deposit information. Then they ghosted me. It's been just over a month. Do I still let it go and move on even thought they have my personal information fromthe onboarding package I completed? Thank you for your time.

In my honest opinion, KC is absolutely correct about moving on if the employer ghosts you, except for the elephant in the room that this practice is so rampant, that up to 90 percent(personal experience- this is not a typo) of applications either have no response whatsoever, or a generic "Unfortunately, we went with another candidate, good luck!" pasted message that includes no constructive feedback to improve performance. This practice exists at a similar level when not applying online. For example, many establishments in my region post brand new "Now Hiring" signs on their window, and when you go in to apply in person, the hiring manager said there are no positions available and are surprised when you mention the sign. I believe this is because these hiring managers are almost always profoundly emotionally unintelligent and vindictive. If I was a hiring manager, I would always take the time to write a genuine response to every candidate. The managers of hiring managers wouldn't hire someone like me though.

I would call and follow up again. Maybe the recruiter is busy with other requisition.
