    I used to build Harvestores in the late 70s. I think that we worked every day that summer, except for the 4th of July. Valley Harvestore, Hawley Minnesota.

    Yea, but those Harvestores are not cheap. I think those cost savings are not there. Same for their manure storage, way too expensive compared to in ground storage.

    Do they still make new harvestore siloS or do have find used one to tear down and rebuild?

    How much would it cost to feed 70 - 100 milking cows with this system? Might want to build one in the near future

    My question; are there plans to develop a conveyer-belt feeding system to the cow to eliminate the filling and distribution by the use of a tractor feeder? Despite the cost to build such a system, would this provide a greater return on investment and reduced labor, tractor, and fuel cost over time? If this could become automated; computer-controlled -- the mixing from silos to feeding the cattle a more automated process -- would not this be a better alternative to eliminate the use of the labor, tractor, and fuel to deliver food to the cattle? It would seem that the seven batch mixing could be pre-programmed to become more automated along your production line, thereby, reducing 2.5 hours programming and production time.

      we put up two in the mid 70's one 30x30 for high moisture corn. and a 35x60 for hay silage. at the time we set it up we could feed from a supplement bin 2 dry grain bins and each silo into a stationary mixing box. then from the mixing box onto a lifting belt conveyor. that into a 2 direction top conveyor that would go to two belt feeders. we could easily feed 1 to 8 groups of cows. around 240 total head in about 20 min. never starting a diesel engine in the winter.

    The Daracel Dairy Concept using the Harvestor { CST Industries} feeding system and the Biogas generator round off the environmental issues needed for the Daracel Dairy Concept.

    I have 2 harvestores , both for storing high moisture corn. I’m very happy with the quality of the feed and my hogs love the corn.

    Will the new unloaders work to replace a old Goliath system

  • @zargobabay9535
    @zargobabay9535 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This unloader grab silage from silo bottom line?

    • @samkom33
      @samkom33 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, its cid of like a gigantic chainsaw blade mounted in the center of the silo, and it rotates round and round bringing the loosend silage to the center where it drops to another unloading chain that brings the silage out..
      it usualy works fine,, but now and then its trouble spesially right after they have filled the silage full from empty without turning the unloader a few weeks it can be hard to loosen it to get it started becouse the weight of the silage above have put to much pressure on the chain so it can break when starting. 😂
      Then then they just have to hope they parked the chain in the right position so they can pull it out by powerful jacks and free it and rapair it.

    If I'm gonna have a silo it will be a stave this looks extremely expensive just tore down our derelict stave with a broke down Silomatic unloader and are using bags a pull type mixer and skid loader now I'm wishing I repaired the old Stave and built two more and a stationary patz vertical I sold the old one for 800 dollars in the only thing holding me back is heights I hate them, and the gases those scare the shit outta me heard to many horror stories.

    This Is the exact sulution for the future to engage efficient and higher system of feeding the Animals where we can feed our poeple. This is what i said to accurate my vission. But they have also make a conveyor feeding directly to the barned in feeding of cows without using tracktor and labor. This can reduce of materials to our Planet. To make unsustainable equipment that are useless. In the future must know how to low the usage of materials and type of materials to be used that cannot be harm by the Planet.
