Glad you enjoyed! She writes most of her own songs - including this one. And she's still only 23. Won a song writing contest at 15 I think. Her range is insane. She can get up close to whistle range. Oh and FWIW, it's pronounced FOE-zee-ah.

@@TouchyReactions When you get around to it, check out her You Don't Even Know me (stripped version, at piano) and Minefields (w/John Legend, official music video).

Thank you for reacting to one of the most underrated and unknown artists in Canada ! Faouzia is not a name that most mainstream listeners know about ! Faouzia is slowly gaining international exposure with her last tour and starting to gain more mainstream listeners because her videos are so so appealing. Strip down versions on the other hand are epic and really demonstrate her emotional and dynamic vocal abilities ! . They are so well constructed and usually it's just Faouzia and a piano and she belts out notes that are unbelievably emotional.and heartwarming ! She can sing quite low and reach quite high notes seamlessly throughout her performance and that's one of her true strengths. Her vibrato is unique as you have noticed. It's a Arabic vibrato which is more middle Eastern and is very quick. She has managed to implement it into pop music which really gives a different unique flavor to her songs. Faouzia immigrated to Canada at the age of one and moved to a small small town in the province of Manitoba with a population of maybe 2,000 people. She loved music and studied music when she was young and started writing her own music at the age of seven or eight. She is very talented. Plays three instruments: the piano, guitar and violin also speaks three languages. English, French and Arabic. On top of all of that, Faouzia extremely intelligent and is just completing her engineering degree at university. Her music videos are very compelling and visually dynamic to witness. Her strip down versions are much more laid back with Faouzia and usually just a piano accompaniment. Both are fabulous and both demonstrate her unique talent to deliver really great performances. Faouzia is gathering a strong following through her social media on TH-cam. Tic Tok etc. And she posts quite frequently. Hopefully she will be setting up another tour shortly. and touring the US and Canada. I want to thank you personally for posting Faouzia on your fabulous TH-cam channel. I hope that you continue to post more from her as it is so helpful to promote this young talented singer-songwriter. Keep up the great work guys and sending you both. much thanks and love from Canada.👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️

Not only a brilliant singer, from a small town 160 km west of Winnipeg MB (how did she get to this incredible level of performance?), but a genius writer, accompianist on piano, a third year software engineer student, several other incredible attributes. Also makes fun home family videos.

You'll love two of her other most-popular "Stripped" songs: "How It All Works Out (Stripped)" and "Bad Dreams (Stripped)"!

Faouzia said thay the song is about Friendships when you keep giving and giving but nothing is ever reciprocated.

First time hearing her she has a great voice. What I take from this is it's about relationships she's giving and getting nothing in return.👍

I listened to the original version last night, and it was so much faster. I'm glad we did this version.

She use quarter note in her song that only in arabic songs exist. Her fast run is insane plus her vocal range. She is mindblowing. Stay safe

    I love it ❤
She's an incredible artist!!! She's also trilingual, speaking Arabic, French and English fluently. All these runs and vibratos are influenced by her Moroccan roots, she has always brought these influences into her music, because it is ingrained in her, it kind of happened naturally. In short, she often mixes pop music with Arabic melodies. 😊

In my subjective ranking of contemporary female vocalists I put her right behind Diana Ankudinova. They have similar ranges in octaves although Faouzia's voice is a higher tone as she can get up into the whistle, they both compose although Faouzia is more accomplished in that area, they both play several instruments, Piano and Ukelele for Diana, Piano, Guitar and Violin for Faouzia. On opposite ends of the world but with similar artistic merit.
Faouzia is so accomplished it's almost annoying, not only is she gorgeous, not only is she gifted with an amazing voice, not only is she creative, multi-instrumental and polilingual, but she is also at 23 a fully fledged engineer. This woman is exemplary.
She has stated this song is about those friendships where the other person is always on the receiving end. So basically it's about grifters :)

I think Fauozia is singing about a one sided relationship in this song, she sings about always giving and not getting anything back in return. Great reaction to this incredible artist. Any of her stripped performances are great or her collaboration with John Legend-Minefields- which has about 200 million views.Thx.

For Faouzia, to me the best way to react to her, is to react to her show at the Burton Cummings theatre that's on her TH-cam channel, song by song, ending with the after credits song Elon, which to me is her masterpiece.

Suggestion: "Fuera o Más Allá" by Eruca Sativa. That band is one of the main inspirations of The Warning (alongside Muse, of course). That video would also give you the chance to react to the live version they just did with Dany on vocals.
