I believe people need to follow their dreams. Something happens when that is so a governing place in shared lives. I've been lucky to have felt waves just as I fell asleep and awakened to rain....and while many years ago now....stood at lands end of South Africa. It was a reminder that day....the edge of the sea has nice sunshine. M.
wow so nice trailer , i'm glad i could help you sponsor that nice trailer , i see that it is easy to carry on your boat , because it can be taken apart and stored on the boat , greetings Hendrick ubels.
Hiya, We couldn't agree more. You give good energy and you hope to receive good energy. Not always the case but sometimes you've got to pay it forward. Cheers mate 👍
I'm not surprised Stuart gets things fer nowt cause he's a good guy and marina he's a lucky guy to have you.20.000 subscribers don't reply ya know I'll follow you pair cheers n beers Marty Australia
Hey Marty, How you keeping. We've been super busy. I'm back at work 🤮 etc etc Marina is doing well with the video, maybe the holiday vid was a bit lacking. Tbh just wanted to hang out with my parents. We are slowly building up a pile of crap to install. Still waiting on that fuel tank. So when we return we can really hit the ground running. Hull, tanks, floor and galley. Next seasons mission. Throw in a rewire and a bit of plumbing we might be getting a closer to seeing if she floats. Thanks as always for watching ☺️
Take no notice of jealous people, i think your very brave taking on such a big job, your doing very well. Keep up the good work, love watching you two.
How cute and very useful the trailer for your bike is. This will make shopping and getting things back to the boat much easier. Sometimes the little things mean so much and make life better. ♡
Perseverance is apparently hard wired in you both. It takes guts to slog on through difficult and trying times. I’m proud of you both though I’m not someone whom you know, but let it be known that I love sailing as well. It is a different world. Thanks for your independence and strength.
Thank goodness you found your mast thank god and you got a new toy trailer look after it the wind will blow it away good things come to those who wait good luck
Great video. There are some good people about despite some believing the contrary. The little trailer will save you a heap of lugging bags by hand. ATB. regards from the UK
Hi, Sailing Seabird has quickly become my favorite sailing channel. I can't wait for your next post. Keep making progress each day and Seabird will be back at sea before you know it.
That trailer is nice. Glad that it was sent to you guys. Finding the mast is a big one. You are getting things moving along on the refit and it is starting to look a lot better. Keep up the good work.
That's awesome!! There reallly are some very nice people in this world and we should remember that! Remain positive in your outlook and you're like to make some one elses day even better!!
It’s so true… We always think you’ll receive what you put out. It’s way easier being friendly and nice with each other. Everyone in this yard has been so so helpful 🤗
That’s so funny, I was listening to you say how you had to carry a big package all the way back from the office and I was about to comment that what you need is a bike trailer😂😂😂
Hi. I really love your videos. I have absolutely no interest in sailing at all but your journey together is fascinating and you seem such lovely people that I cant wait for each episode.
Hi Marina if you are looking for new windows for your boat might l suggest Ali express they have boat windows starting from €55.00 euros complete depending on size plus shipping !! Thanks for the reply. On previous message.
Hiya Mike, I think we have it sorted. We've managed to sort out the hinges and got to rubber do hopefully no more wet toes when it rains at night (the portlight leaks on my side of the cabin) Cheers for watching 😃
Thank you so much for introducing me to top down furlers. We sailed quite a bit last year with our gennaker that uses a sock and my wife and I had discussed whether we might be able to get a furler. It seems like a top down furler might be just the thing we were looking for. I hope I can find one for a couple of bottles of wine too.
Hiya Mike, For us it's been a dream for years. We love light wind sailing! Not as scary and you can still watching movies whilst laying on the sofa. A cruisers life... Cheers for watching 😃
You guys are awesome I live in the states And the boating community is amazing You guys remember me when I rebuild my house boat We name the gifts according to the giver Bumpers are name Jason Anchor = Steve 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 Love the videos
Very enjoyable story. I have always wondered whether a few yacht owners might like to pass their boats on if they or their family are not able to look after them. Good luck with the rebuild.
There was a boat abandoned near us. The owner was in care and the Trustees refused to sell it. It deteriorated until the engine room was flooded. Had 20+ pigeons living on it. When he died his will left the boat to the club. It was sold for peanuts and taken away. Literally a $180,000 boat left until it was worth $2000. The pigeons stayed....
How fantastic that someone bought you a trailer, you'll love it. We love how great your channel is doing now. Well done, congratulations and keep it up. We'll be following till the end xx
Yo you three! How you doing? Must be getting excited now, if you haven't already left. You so supportive towards us, thank you. I truly means a lot xxx
Nice contribution (MAX) to make your life a little easier, I'm sure it will get plenty of use, good luck with the rest of your project, I'm really enjoying watching your videos.
Hi , Great show I just tarped my houseboat for the winter Im in Castlegar British Columbia Canada . Had a Grizzly Bear push down my fence last night About 10 ft from my house .🥵
I see you had some luck getting the Roller and the cart. That cart is a great idea and should help so much. You're so good at putting the videos together and narrating them. Have a good week, going to miss u till next time...
I want to see you haul Stuart around in the trailer!!! hahaha May be better off getting new portlights as the seals on yours are probably dried out on the ones that open, and you may break more hinges trying to get the old ones out.
so enjoy watching your video's and seeing amazing people doing amazing things to bring an old hulk back to life and i'm not even a sailor! keep, up the good work
Great boat and a great project. Just binge watched all the series so far and your doing a great job 👏 look forward to following along in your journey.🤟🏼
Bike trailers are a real boon ....and if you can bend up a longer spare towing arm you can take a small boat or wind surfer to the beach 🏖️ or haul longer loads. Life isnt a destination its journey... and when life gets a bit crazy ..the crazy people turn pro. 😉😎🧙♂️⛵ To borrow from Hunter S Thompson. Nice work finding your detached mast.. not quite a needle in a haystack but definitely a lucky find.
Cart is going to make it better for shopping might be able to get bit moor food exera every trip to the shops .hopefully you can get the right hinges or some you can use save you some money help get that motor . You can get very good diesel outboards now would save you lots of room on the boat ?
I had a river house boat 21 meters long 7 meters wide and very heavy I had a 40 hp Honda fourstroke and it pushed it very easily and very cheaply at 8 knots .no fumes with motor outside .
Always a good episode from you guys , it won’t be long before your away working for the winter will you be letting us all know how long and when your off .?it’s absolutely no wonder your finding people been so supportive as your making lovely genuine videos , once it becomes a big production I just give up and move on congratulations on a you have achieved thus far 😊
You keep checking jobs off the list! I loved Stuart’s “yay” deadpan about having to buy new windows 😂😂😂. Still, no fun having to spend all that money…. At least the new windows will not suddenly leak or break more hinges going forward. For some reason, I am looking forward to when the engine compartment is all sorted out and repainted. Of course an engine would be a wee bit of fun…. 👍
Looking forward to seeing your living area a bit more settled and more comfortable for you both now. Getting those windows sorted along with making her watertight on the decks first has been good watching you prioritise though. G'luck with those windows... damn! Is there any possibility of repairing, fabricating or repurposing some/those catches... carbon/nylon 3D printing even... happy to help? However, your 'mast' reveal was great news... at last! Crack on Seabirds... 'Winter is Coming'!
Hiya, I'm not sure. We won't go for an ac and heating wise we'll probably get a little wood burner. Marina says just go somewhere warm... Cheers for watching 😃
Hi love ya vids just watched you guys up in the alps , what do you guys do for jobs?? if not affencive to ask but you seem to know what you are doing with the boat again all the best🤙🤙
Hiya, Stu's a technician and Marina is a house keeper. It's a nice change from the yard and we can squirrel away some pennies. This year we call it engine money. Cheers for watching 😃
nice going with the bike trailer. The windows. How is it possible that there are no the right shutters available? Cant you make one window with new Plexiglass? Changing rubber on windows (if you have to), is still cheaper than buying new ones for 170. If you shop around, maybe there is a company that can water- or laser cut your Plexiglass. Maybe ask the people of the harbor if they know a place where they can make the plexiglass to shape. You can always get one of these Fretsaws, and use a drill to make it into shape precisely. It may be the cheapest. Good luck with the build. It is starting to go where it needs to be. Greetings, Jeff
The plexiglass is a doddle. It is the hinges and handles that fit into the frames that fall apart. One by one my handles are failing. The company stopped making them. Just put in new hatches. OK. One hatch $890. Fitting charge by local boatyard $1,000. They have a 1mm tolerance over 550mm length. Get that wrong and you will wake up with a wet bed. All because a $20 plastic handle failed.
Been watching your videos, and progress! Ah to be young! I bought a Formosa 41 here in Costa Rica and have been working on her for over a year now. It's not quite as intensive as yours, or maybe it is. We are not in the same boat, but doing alot of the same! You mentioned someone restoring a Formosa 41, I would like to see some of their work, if possible? Keep up the good work!
Hi guys just found your channel. Where are you based 🧐 Anyway screw the people with shitty comments. Do you think for one minute they'd have the Balls to to what you two are doing... Total respect where are you from?? All the very best ill follow and share😁😁😁
Glad to see the mast, I hope the rigging is all correct! I have a little experience with top down furler and although it’s a long way off they are tricky , like 10 x harder to use compared to a std furler, but you can handle it!! How’s the keel coming along ? Drying out? Cheers Warren
Hiya Warren, Rigging is off except one stubborn shroud. Got the new wire. Will order the stalok fittings over winter. Happy with the mast. Cheers for watching 😃
the hinge looks to be aluminum, if you have both parts, a good welder should be able to fix it for you, or take it to a machine shop, who will make another.
Hi Alexander. We're the same, love to binge watch. We'll keep making videos but soon we return to work so the flavour will change for the winter. Cheers for watching 😃
Hiya Nigel, Not going to publish all your comments. I'll give you a summary. Strength, so I can't lift an engine alone wit a 6:1 block that makes me a weak sailor. If I needed to do it everyday I'd agree. The mast. A bit of pitting means nothing, weld a collar on the base. The mast is fine. We know a new foot/socket is needed for the keel, where the mast sits. You had many negative comments on us as people and some were even edging on nasty. We've sailed enough and worked on enough boats to know what we have. Can I ask where has your wealth of knowledge has come from. What boat refits have you done, where have you sailed. You might be coming from a concerning place but they way you out it is rude and disrespectful. Never poo poo someone's dream as it makes you look like a bitter person. Maybe watch something else if this is your attitude 🤨
Hi Gary! We already bought the wire and it wasn’t anything near that hehe plus we already have most of the sta-lok fittings 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Slowly getting all the bits for everything 😊
I just googled brand new 75 hp diesel outboard Yamaha E 75 BMHL long shaft 1,500 hrs or 1 year warranty US dollars 3,000 dollars comes in wooden crate .might be a good option . ?
Double comments are good. Now its up to you fine people to do something positive with recognition. My apologies, wouldn't be viewing if the perception of Good was not prevalent.
Pick your battles. We got the tank sorted in the end and tbh maybe he was right. Things apparently do go missing. But to brand a new customer as a thief... We know not to use this company again. It's all part of the process.
Omg that boat is totally nasty. Don't tell me that you guys sleep on that boat everyday. The inside is extremely unsanitary and full of nasty mold and other harmful bacteria. Much cleaner to rent a small studio or at least sleep outside in a tent while you are fixing the boat.
Haha, on what?! Seriously we gave the boat a clean. Bought a fridge (that was expensive) and 500 bucks on fibreglass. The whole project is only going be 25k so if your maths is as good as your repair skills you best pay someone else. Plus this talk of drugs is very wrong and rude. First time I've said this but please don't comment or watch. Your negative energy is not welcome here!
From my judge of character, you two are kind of Farma driven folks..., I believe that one day, if you ever become really rich, you will return the many favours you have been granted in life to others in your shoes now. People an sense that in others and repond in kind.
Hiya Roy, Thanks mate. What a kind thing to say. We are just us, trying to be the best we can be. Sometimes yes, somestimes could be better. Thanks for watching ☺️
“If you know the way broadly you will see it in everything.” - Miyamoto Musashi. I eagerly await you two hitting your 10,000 hours into boat building. Already seeing your knowledge start to expand. It's very exciting :)
Hiii I don't know if you guys read instagram but I sent a suggestion to your inbox. I love this series i found your channel couple weeks ago and i watched every vid
12:20 : Kudos to you Hendrick! You're a boss!👏
Who's Hendrick..?

Hiya Bob,
No gift. Just love meeting people.

Hiya Todd,
Got to love a catalogue.
Thanks for the kinds words.
The retail prices are eyewatering and they are as fragile as heck. Mine have a 1mm tolerance on a 550mm hatch. So basically they just leak.
Hiya Mike, I think we have it sorted. We've managed to sort out the hinges and got to rubber do hopefully no more wet toes when it rains at night (the portlight leaks on my side of the cabin)
Cheers for watching 😃
I look up to you two for doing this , your very good at teaching Thank you
no thanks necessary. you earned it.
Cheers Thomas 🍻
Thank you so much for introducing me to top down furlers. We sailed quite a bit last year with our gennaker that uses a sock and my wife and I had discussed whether we might be able to get a furler. It seems like a top down furler might be just the thing we were looking for. I hope I can find one for a couple of bottles of wine too.
Hiya Mike,
For us it's been a dream for years. We love light wind sailing!
Not as scary and you can still watching movies whilst laying on the sofa. A cruisers life...

Crazy or stupid, fine line
Great to see the progress. It’s really cool that you started editing the subtitles!!! 😊👍👍👍
Hi Oliver!! Thanks for your comment :)
The subtitles are automatic so we apologise as they are not very accurate 😅
Ok ☺️
But you know, it is really easy to edit the automatic subtitles?

Nah, it's German. Toplicht is a German chandler :) However the word also exists in Dutch but we've got no chandler by that name...
Hiya Stefan,
You could be right. The shop is in Hamburg...
Cheers for watching
Do you really need those windows. ;-)
How many boats are in that boat yard?
In total..?
Maybe a thousand.
Cheers for watching 😃
the hinge looks to be aluminum, if you have both parts, a good welder should be able to fix it for you, or take it to a machine shop, who will make another.
Hiya Bob,
We got new hinges and chopped them in half. That should do the job.
Cheers for watching
I binged too fast it seems... now I am sad. See you in a week!
Hi Alexander.
We're the same, love to binge watch.
We'll keep making videos but soon we return to work so the flavour will change for the winter.
Cheers for watching 😃

Are you sure it’s yours and not someone else’s like the ladder?
😂😂😂 Pretty sure hehe It’s a pretty weird shape
RNLI are the best I remember they sacrifice themselves for all in distress
Hiya Nigel,
Not going to publish all your comments.
I can’t watch anymore. The boat is in such sad shape it’s scary 🎃
The boats fine, most of it will buff out.
Stay for the journey. It makes for good tv yelling.
Cheers and fair winds.
Glad there’s a mast/ you’ll need all new standing rigging probably 5-6 K… not something you want to salvage as I’m sure you know!
Hi Gary!
We already bought the wire and it wasn’t anything near that hehe plus we already have most of the sta-lok fittings 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Slowly getting all the bits for everything 😊
@@SailingSeabird Yeah, sorry, I was being negative---bad on me! Best wishes!
I would've just used the old rigging looked ok for what it is...
How much you want spend on a hole in the Ocean at the end of the day
Most important things:
Engine
Rigging
Hull
The rest is luxury.
It's our life's and our safety so we won't compromise on that.
Cheers for watching 😃
@@SailingSeabird yeh I live on a yacht and know boats all my life...
Why waste money when you have none?
I just googled brand new 75 hp diesel outboard Yamaha E 75 BMHL long shaft 1,500 hrs or 1 year warranty US dollars 3,000 dollars comes in wooden crate .might be a good option . ?
Gets a bike trailer then turns into ghost... unreal!
Double comments are good. Now its up to you fine people to do something positive with recognition. My apologies, wouldn't be viewing if the perception of Good was not prevalent.
Steward, I would threaten the tank salesman, that send you the 45liter tank, to talk to the agent about what business he has.
Much cleaner to rent a small studio or at least sleep outside in a tent while you are fixing the boat.
you must of done over 20k already
Haha, on what?! Seriously we gave the boat a clean. Bought a fridge (that was expensive) and 500 bucks on fibreglass. The whole project is only going be 25k so if your maths is as good as your repair skills you best pay someone else.
Plus this talk of drugs is very wrong and rude. First time I've said this but please don't comment or watch. Your negative energy is not welcome here!
That trailer is going to be a game changer for you both. So happy for you.
From my judge of character, you two are kind of Farma driven folks..., I believe that one day, if you ever become really rich, you will return the many favours you have been granted in life to others in your shoes now. People an sense that in others and repond in kind.
Hiya Roy,
Thanks mate. What a kind thing to say. We are just us, trying to be the best we can be. Sometimes yes, somestimes could be better.
Thanks for watching ☺️
“If you know the way broadly you will see it in everything.”
- Miyamoto Musashi.
