Luke is just amazing, I talked to him once In discord and he was so god DAMN nice, luke, you've really helped me improve in rocket league, thank you so much!
@@jakehall1748 without seeing your gameplay it's hard to tell any specifics, but I can tell you that platinum is gold with mechanics. O would suggest making sure you are comfortable shooting from anywhere on your opponent's side of the field, and that you're rotating to the right spots. Plats will pass from time to time as well, so make sure your are aware of where people are in relation to the ball. I have 5 videos on my channel that are high plat gameplay. Take a look at what I'm doing there and see if you're doing something different. I talk through my thought process while I play for those videos.
Hi Greg I am so pleased to hear that! Knowing people are getting knowledge they can apply and improve with is what this is all about. Appreciate the positive comment 👍
Hey dude, I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to help us all become better players. My favourite lesson from this video is definitely the chip and shoot. It's almost like a hook shot. Will be practicing this one.
G3 in 2's and 3's, G1 in 1's, and P2 in dropshot. Currently learning how to use Fennec and L1 to Air Roll. Already know how to tornado spin left averagely well. Play daily for around an 2-4 hours. Level 185 at the time of posting, and have never boughten a rocket pass. I have really good teamwork and team play communication, and I'm currently using heat seeker as my warmup for in game aerial shots and saves, helping my mind wake up and understand reading the ball.
I also play Hybrid Claw with both hands, but I prioritize Hybrid Claw on my left hand when playing Rocket League. My right hand is just basic thumb on face buttons, with index on bumper and middle on trigger.
Luke, I think you should do an updated double tap tutorial, I’ve been practice for hours lately and have had a realization that none of the double tap tutorials ever actually helped me. There are details that people don’t include in there tutorials such as- 1. Being able to change directions quickly in the air 2. Waiting for the ball to hit the wall for 2 reasons( this lets you get a better position and read on the ball and also keeps you prepared to transition to defense) These are 2 of the most important things that are left out of the those double tap tutorials that are the most helpful for learning the mechanic. Well, your the best so I figured your the only one that can make this vid. Edit: actually I don’t think you’ve made a double tap tutorial
It's the same strategy when practicing an instrument. You practice with a metronome at a slow speed to become accurate, then slowly ramp up the speed to the full speed. You never start at full speed, you slowly progress to that level.
Man you’re gonna hit 1 mil. You’re videos are top tier. Amazing effort. Just stay consistent and you’ll be a top rocket league TH-camr. Great content man

"why I'm not the best player in the world" please don't take this as an insult, you're a great player way better than me in fact. I just wanna hear how you can fix mistakes you would make going up against pros that you would naturally lose to. I think that'd be an interesting video
Hey Jordan - Hopefully the tutorials we already have on the TH-cam channel will make a good starting point for you. There are plenty of different things to practice and improve on there. broke through a skill ceiling by only defending and going for demos. the bi product was always moving in supersonic speed and picking up pads and then i still ended up with more goals because i was getting to the ball faster and making better touches
My warm up is about 20mins long. I'll share it here for those who could benefit from it. First 5 mins: Ballchase on freeplay to get the reflexes going. Next 10 mins: General mechanics practice. I work my rebounds, flicks, powershots, and aerial mechanics. Final 5 mins: Ballchase in freeplay, but with limited boost to get my speed and pad pathing down.
Nice one @Digital_Jedi and thanks for sharing with everyone. It is great to see you using a structure to your warm up routine. Hopefully after watching the video you might have picked up some ideas to rotate in with your existing routine. 👍
Thank you! I say the same thing about warming up with casual games and my friends think I'm nuts. I have a theory that I have a threshold of how many games I have before I hit the point where I get tired and if I'm wasting those games in casual, then that's less good ranked games I'm going to have.
