A way to get to discipline is to force yours self good habits that will eventually become discipline

That’s entirely true but discipline precedes motivation and it’s hard to force discipline, but much easier to find brief periods of motivation... what should your approach be then? Creating habits such as these? (Probably)

I became the happiest person 2 weeks after a breakup. What i did was read “the power of now”. It worked for me because for years, i spent all waking hours worried and anxious about the future and looking constantly at the past. So focusing on the now freed me from all of it.
I went on bike rides every morning and watched the sunrise and listened to all the animals, river, and trees. Just applying the lessons from the book. This is the most impactful thing i did at the time.

"Consistent sleep". I had a friend who would criticized me for sleeping my 7 hrs. He claimed he only slept 4 hrs or so. He basically convinced me I was been lazy for sleeping my hours instead of acknowledging the fact I was taking care of myself. I started sleeping less and less so I wouldn't feel "lazy". Within a few weeks I got really sick. Needless to say, I don't talk to him anymore.

Great video!! This is what I call being “mentally” rich when you Stay consist with what ever your healthy habits are.
Mine are slightly different and I want to share them.
I typically watch one of your YT videos every single day and try to come up with a comment for each one.
I at least try to read a chapter of a book that I’m currently reading every single day.
On the weekdays, I go to sleep at 11 PM, the weekends, I’m still working on.
Lastly, 2 short term goals that I have for the week are cleaning out my email and cleaning out my photo gallery on my phone. Those are currently what I do for the month of September. This changes every month.

  • @dennisdinh8705

I definitely agree with having short-term goals that compliment long-term goals.
A lot of the time I feel disconnected with my future goals which demotivates me to stay productive. Having short-term goals help build momentum and make me feel closer to the end goal.

So far I have been living up to that and I look forward to pushing forward in the future. My goal for 2020 is to grow my own channel and help younger people interested in finance, like myself.
Graham has been a huge inspiration for me and I owe a lot of my current motivation to him. Thank you!

Very solid routine, Graham! Mine for 2020:
    1. Wake up at 4:00 am.
    2. Make an entire pot of coffee.
    3. Lift weights.
    4. Take shower.
    5. Drink entire pot of coffee.
    6. Work 6:00 am - 3:00 pm.
    7. Come home, eat.
    8. Work on my TH-cam vidz.
    9. Sleep from 8:00 pm - 4:00 am.
It's going great so far! I truly believe that developing positive habits are vitally important to long-term personal growth and I intend to be very disciplined this year!
BTW, read the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. Very well articulated stuff!

The joy created by honoring my natural tempo makes it possible for me to face the To Do list at all.

Agreed lol I have 3 children. 2yr old, 3yr old, 8yr old. When they were first born consistent ANYTHING is dam near impossible and statistically proven to be extremely rare in terms of sleep. As they get older though this because a little less challenging but possible. Just very very hard. Depending on how old the kids plays apart too and how well disciplined the parents are. The more disciplined the parents are on themselves that typically roles off to the kids. Just my opinion of course. But regardless I couldn’t help but to agree with you. The life of Dad and entrepreneur would be great idea for a Chanel lol

Great video Stephen. Each of these habits has changed my life. In particular, yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily goals increases productivity in key areas 400% in my experience, compounding, which means that in 5-10 years the live lived is exponentially more successful than otherwise in the areas of accomplishment. However, I also find that having a great relationship with self/another is the real key. Lot's of free time and money (I have it) leads to anxiety/boredom/aimlessness without a good compass of values and vision including rich human relationship.

One thing I have noticed is, if somthing changes around me, it is easier to change my habits. When I was a kid, I never did my home work in school, but when our basement flooded and I moved in with my grandma for a week, I came home from school, did my homework, then helped my grandfather outside with little projects. That was all satisfying and changed my habits for a short while, but then I fell back in the rut when I had nothing to do when I got home.
