Best Japanese learning podcast in my book. Really appreciate having lots of vocab items explained in English, I think one of the biggest shortcomings and misconceptions about language acquisition, even for very advanced learners, is everyone trying so hard to avoid the universal target language to easily communicate general ideas and teach vocab. Explaining a dozen or two words in English won't break your "native speaking edge" or something along those lines, you make exactly the same progress, except you end up knowing what the words mean right away and get to properly categorize them in your brain without it being too much guesswork.
Very happy to find this channel and look forwards to listening to every episode in my journey of learning Japanese! Thank you for the great content!

Two months ago Ive found this video and really couldn't understand much, as I wrote before.
Now I'm coming back and I'm so happy to say that after that time listening to lots of different podcast episodes, I can understand so many things if not almost 100% (of some sentences, still some unknown words here and there)
I remember that it seemed very fast when I started.
If anyone here is not sure if it really works, then I can definitely confirm :>>
I can speak much better and write in Japanese (though still it's really bad xD but it's really a nice feeling to start understand something finally. English is my second language and I don't really remember how I started to watch things like English youtube but this is a bit different since I'm more conscious about the process.)

Layla, thank you so much for doing these wonderful videos and podcasts! I think there is a big need for content like these videos and your podcasts to help people like me transition from high beginner/low elementary to intermediate, as there is not that much content for this. I think speaking slowly like in your first podcast is actually just right. For people who want more intermediate level content, I think there are lots of other channels that do that. However, there are not very many that fill the gap between beginner level content and lower intermediate. With the advent of the Language Reactor plugin, I would recommend not putting in the hard subtitles, but to just use the soft subtitle files, so that they don't overlap when one uses the Language Reactor plug-in. It would be nice if there were a separate English subtitle file that Language Reactor could use as well. But if that's too much work, just Japanese subtitles is fine. Thanks again! I look forward to listening to all of your content.

Thank you for this very much! I think I understand the context at least in first half of the video, I still haven’t learned much about verbs and their conjugation so some of them are confusing. As a not English nor Japanese native speaker I find this very helpful ❤
Does anybody in the comments have any links to very basic Japanese podcasts? (Very. Very basic. I am learning it for like 250 days, but most of the days were just one minute on Duolingo. I wanted to use other resources but didn’t really have time. Now I have more motivation :D
