    Re: expression pedal input...you were right, it sweeps the mids. Also there are a few other tweak-able options inside the pedal. From their website: "The pedal has been set at the factory to sound stellar right out of the box, however some people might want to tweak some more options to taste. Via a hole in the base plate, you get direct access to an internal trim-pot to set the bandwidth (Q) of the Mid-EQ. Turn it counter-clockwise for a broad bandwidth, for smooth frequency sweeps or turn it completely clockwise for really resonant sounds. Removing the base plate will reveal a second trim-pot, which enables you to blend in your clean signal with the overdriven tone, making Logan transcend the world of guitar. Bass? Drums? Synths? Vocals? Bring it on! This pedal will handle it all."

    PRE setting is like putting an EQ before the distortion (ENGAGE). Kinda nice. Like having two pedals in stack mode.

  • @toddclarke1580

    Very smart controls to have a natural freq cut in the basic mode for a nice vocal mix, then restore the mids for a solo, usually this is done with multiple pedals.

    6:54 Ok, but if it's "not affecting anything when it's not engaged", what's with the scratchy pots then?

    • @KMAMachines
      @KMAMachines 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Khron's Cave it’s because there is a current running through the pot even when the mids are off and so also effecting the dc lane when it gets turned which is a normal thing. That’s why. But no worries it won’t affect the tone and it’s so low on level. Nothing to be concerned about

    • @khronscave
      @khronscave 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KMAMachines Keeping DC out of those pots is a no-go then?

    • @KMAMachines
      @KMAMachines 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Khron's Cave what do you mean? The mid eq is based on a VCF Filter topology means there is always dc running through the pot that is pretty standard. And honestly I haven’t had that along the first 100 units I built so far. But honestly that’s nothing to be worried about mate.

    Good as usual Bea but I must say why oh why do all these manufacturers bother releasing yet another bloody OD / Dist pedal??? It reminds me of a wine store that has 300 white wines, totally overwhelming and unnecessary.

    • @metalpuppet5798
      @metalpuppet5798 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well they're not gonna give up their businesses are they. Most players actually have one od pedal which is the “holy grail“ for them so to speak. And thats a different one for almost every different person

      I've been fortunate to play this one... I have no drives that can do what the Logan does. And i have a few. Unfortunately Rabea does not hook an expression pedal up to it, which is a shame. This is where this pedal really shines.

    • @KMAMachines
      @KMAMachines 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Hey guys, Enrico here from KMA Audio Machines. I must agree the OD market is so saturated. And basically that's the reason why I designed different stuff and wanted to wait till I came up with an OD which is different from what you can actually get on the market. And that being said, I am really really picky when it comes to low gain drive sounds. And in my opinion Logan is different, and feels different while playing, meanwhile providing you great tonal flexibility because of the EQ concept. So it's carefully designed for a year long to be not another bloody overdrive. BUT i respect your opinion and must say I would maybe think the same if I wouldn't be that deep into the whole scene and market. Just give it a try if you can in a store nearby, I would be really happy about it :).
