Fascinating! Engaging! Captivating! Gripping! Pleasing!...You by far exceed yourself on this Grammar Gameshow Episode, BBC Learning English! It not only HAS BEEN useful and informative, but cracking up too! I HAVE BEEN watching (just in this morning, which has not yet finished) some of your FIRST SHOWS, and my conclusion is obvious...You HAVE IMPROVED very much. Well done!...I HAVE USED the Present Perfect many times along this remark, so I should use the Past Simple at least once..."I SAW your Friday video too. "Sampai jumpa", "Sampai nanti", "Sampai bertemu lagi", "Lihat nanti".
Omggggg 😱. Leslie says "Sampai Jumpa" !!! Speaking of which, this episode my favourite. Not gonna lie, I more focussed on their acting than the lesson 😂
Oh God! That's Indonesian word of Good bye, "Sampai Jumpa" Oh thank you very much for putting it on the map BBC LE! Thanks for responding my request. I've waited it for a week. I am very pleased. 😀
BBC Learning English this is just the umpteenth proof you are incredibly fantastic in what you do. I would have burst in laughs so many times if I had been there... (Insert creepy laugh here*)

Hi Karen, We have a Grammar Gameshow all about the past perfect. You can see it here: www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/course/tgg/unit-1/session-14 We hope this is helpful for you. Thanks!
Hi Lucija, The funny thing about the indescribable whatchamacallit is that it cannot be explained! The noun phrase is made up of two words which cannot be described! Indescribable literally means 'cannot be described' - we might use this word to talk about an amazing experience which we cannot put into words e.g. What's it like sky-diving? It's indescribable. The word 'whatchamacallit' is a substitute noun which is used as a replacement when the speaker cannot remember the name of the thing they are talking about. For example - I need to change the channel. Have you seen the...er...you know...the whatchamacallit? (Remote control) In the context of this show, there is something in the basement which cannot be described. That's all we know! Based on the sound it makes...it sounds scary! We hope this helps!
Of course! This phrase is a polite way to say ' The prizes are not very good.' If a teacher wanted to be polite to a student who had handed in some homework that was not very good, the teacher might say 'Your homework could use some improvement.'

We hope this is helpful for you. Thanks!
add twelfty points haha 😂 But what is "release the indescribable whatchamacallit?" Can anyone explain it for me please?
Hi Lucija,
The funny thing about the indescribable whatchamacallit is that it cannot be explained! The noun phrase is made up of two words which cannot be described!

In the context of this show, there is something in the basement which cannot be described. That's all we know! Based on the sound it makes...it sounds scary!

Thanks! I'm really really excited to receive your reply! By the way, could you please tell me what "the prizes could use some improvement" means?
Of course! This phrase is a polite way to say ' The prizes are not very good.' If a teacher wanted to be polite to a student who had handed in some homework that was not very good, the teacher might say 'Your homework could use some improvement.'
Wow, wonderful explanation! Thanks a million!!!
I have lived in London for many years or I have been living in London for many years
which is more appropriate...

In North American English, most people would say "I cut my finger" even if it is gushing blood.
