Cheers for the video, I did this several months back now but it's good to recap if it's how I remembered it. I am pretty sure I did it correctly after a few tries. I had a few changes to the config to make from a standard vanilla install. Xen Orchestra. The community edition that you compile yourself is full featured and has some powerful backup tools included.

I was going to go through the install but it failed on Centos 7 hence why video was cut short near end. Works fine on Ubuntu and yes you need to edit the config to enable all plugins and then you get full backup solution as well, again thanks for feedback :)

Thanks, mate, a great video and great to hear an English voice for change and a Northerner at that (are you a Lancashire lad by any chance?).

@@sheridans I used to live in Bolton, 4 lane ends area. Living in Preston now. Got a C6220 coming tomorrow (64 cores and 256GB) so going to be using XCP-ng. Thanks for your helpful video.

Quick question, I made a bootable USB key for the installation. Only when selecting the disk a message tells me that there is no disk with enough space. However I put a 500GB SSD (brand new) and the server's LED indicates the disk is connected. Do you have any idea what the problem is?

I have a XCP installation with a bunch of VM's, what would cause a new VM not to start after creation?

There's many reasons, hard to answer. I'd start with the logs

What Video Capture card do you use?

I use an Elgato CamLink 4K, have done a video on it previously (there's links in the video description to it on Amazon). Impressed with it, works really well for capturing my my cameras or capture HDMI output direct from a PC (as I did in this xcp-ng video). Though I did have to purchase an internal PCI USB card since my PC didn't want to power it up - as explained in the video.

It all personal preference, but as someone who uses both the first advantage of XCP-NG is the built in backup features

You literally titled this "Getting your first VM running" and then completely skipped over the step where you get an actual bootable ISO onto the host for the VM???? That step arrived, and then you quickly swapped your pre-uploaded ISO in-place of xcp-tools and mentioned literally nothing else about it going forward.... Do you not think that maybe someone watching a "Introduction | Getting your first VM running" video would want to know more about the painful process of simply getting a bootable ISO onto your XCP host??

Thanks for the feedback, I'll watch the video and take a look, it's been awhile. If it's been overlooked and needs updating I'll address it.
Thanks again and sorry if I missed something out.

I've took the time to review the video. I don't understand what I am missing? From 11:17, it's explained how to setup an ISO repository within XCP-NG using XCP-NG Center to connect to a Windows share. It's a standard shared windows folder where you copy your ISOs to?
