This premiere episode is orginally aired April 24, 1978 (on NBC - United States). R.I.P Jim Perry (from the NBC run of Card Sharks), we miss you already. 😭 😭
This is the series premiere episode of the American "Card Sharks" program (as a tribute to first host Jim Perry) and the first two players competing are Susan & Mark. 🇺🇲 🇺🇲
It is sad to report that James Edward (Jim Perry) Dooley has passed on at the age of 82. He had a long battle with cancer. Perry, was the original host of "Card Sharks" and the remake of "Sale Of The Century" as well as the host of the "Miss Canada Pageant". Perry, was a great host, singer, and comedian as well. He knew when to be funny and he also knew when to be serious especially on "Sale Of The Century" whenever a contestant was on the verge of winning big. RIP Jim Perry.
This is my favorite version of Card Sharks. Very simple yet exciting. The only change I would make is for the Big Money Cards to be Green or Gold in color.
@@JonesDylan874 Bob’s version was great until it got “gimmicky” with the Car Round. A car never needed to be added to EVERY Big Money Cards playing. They could have offered a car “if the contestant won 5 games or if they cleared the Big Money Cards with the maximum bet every time in one game”. If not then after they won Game 5 they play for a car. Make it 7 or 8 possible car cards and they get 2 or 3 jokers. But don’t have the jokers in the playing cards themselves. Just give them to the 5 day champions. The jokers skewed the odds in my opinion for the regular game and in the Big Money Cards. Also it was too many rule changing towards the end of Bob E’s run. Keep it simple =more fun. But I will never criticize someone for their opinion and preferences. Because life is too short for us not to love and respect each other and our differences. This is why The Price is Right is not watchable anymore. Too many gimmicks and not too mention that the budget is way out of wack because of it.
Newsflash Card Sharks is coming back this summer, let's hope they take notes from this version "or Eubanks' version" and not the awful 2001 Pat Bullard version.

IMO, I liked the Eubanks version, but suit yourself, I won't bash you if you don't like the Eubanks version.

Aces and Deuces, are easy to master;
But if they come in pairs it’ll bring disaster!
The premiere of everyone's favorite card game show.
This is my favorite version of Card Sharks. The only change I would make is for the Money Cards to be Gold or Green
Although losing $700, Susan still wins a not-so-bad $600 + $200 from earlier, making it an overall $800 (for one day). Congrats to her. 👍👍
From a deuce to an ace, you can freely roam. But too many mistakes will send you home.
When Card Sharks premiered in April 1978 another series also made it's debut.....it was called Dallas.
hoagie1978 Dallas also aired on NBC until 1991 correct
@@nickbeebe7386 It aired on CBS.
And Space Invaders, well, invaded the arcades in 1978.

Well... it was a mixed bag, to say the least. But, now it's been canceled again.
I like the original version of the show than today's version though today's version pays out more money
RIP
Nine-and-a-half minutes in... Today, I don't think the answer would scratch 50, or even 40.
What a difference in time indeed. A lot sure can change in one year, let alone 37 (1978-2015).

It's hard to believe that Jim Perry is now 82, I don't even know if he's alive or dead.
+TheJehova Shalom He died tonight (11/20/2015) of cancer. One week and change after your posting. He was 82.
+zymaymyn I just found out a little while ago via the Wink Martindale pages in TH-cam, and the NBC News webpage. God rest his soul.

Go steeper
Jim goofed and said 2100 if called right on big bet..but was called wrong..I guess they just let it slide
I hope Buzzr gets more eps of CS, I'm tired of these repeats
Buzzr sucks wet farts out of dead pigeons
Susan vs Raven baxton
I wonder how Jim looks like before he passed on?
