Good morning Chris and Tony!😀😀 You guys put in a pretty good day playing with Tony's toys. When you said that you put a ladder against the tree to put the rope in. I thought to myself that you were lucky that it didn't just tip over. When I'm cutting those type of dead oak trees with my tree harvester. Quite a bit of the time I just pull them out by the roots and lay them down. When they have been dead that long there isn't usually much left for roots to hold them up. Especially in the sand county like he has there. Take care my friends!!😀😀👍👍❤
Let’s talk about the tools he doesn’t have 😀. Maybe it would take less time. I want to be both of you guys “new best friend “. Keep on sharing your best friend’s toys. I spend every morning with you and my coffee
That portable winch would be so handy for pulling logs out of distant tough terrain. And If you used multiple ropes, just use a simple sheetbend knot between the capstan rope and subsequent ropes. Easy then that when you reach the second rope, untie the sheetbend or weaver's knot, and move down the rope to a new location, form a simple loop in the distant rope, weave the capstan rope and pull again. Nice design. Happy Rigging.
Love that nose cone for dragging the logs in. I've ripped the end off my winch while getting a bit butch dragging wood out of a creek behind my 2T truck. The 18" wide butt got caught on another tree and there was nothing to guide it around. something like that would be brilliant.
Glad you met Tony looking forward to more videos maybe deer hunting, food plots. The rack your bro made would make lifting and dumping the rounds safer qnd you can carry many more
I saw that you have used both the pwc5000 and pcw4000 and I am curious about your thoughts. Pcw5000: How problematic is it on uneven ground? Does it stall often if not perfectly level? Pcw4000: Do you feel that this one is noticeably lighter in weight or does it feel about the same as the 5000? What about that plastic ARM function. Does it feel robust and like it will last the life of the tool? Your detailed opinion is valued for those of us that are looking at these tools.
They both worked just fine, either one is awesome for doing what they bare intended for. It is a great tool that will last a very long time. You might want to talk to a dealer for there advice on choosing the right one for your work.
I’d really love to find out where to get a set of those gauntlets! thanks for this video. I bought 15 acres of transitional forest last year and I’ve got a lot of dead cherry and alder falling down a 100% slope and I don’t think my bobcat is going to be able to get to a lot of it. the big thing I think a winch will help me with is getting debris into my wetland. I’ve got 350 feet of treeless swamp to get across and not really into taking heavy machinery into it so my daughter and I were planning on just carrying logs in wearing waders but the size we can handle would be so limited. I’ve got just a few trees at the far end which is enough to make this work.
