Wow Tom, 29T in a couple mins! usually takes us 40min+ to fill a 45T load with a 10in (25cm) auger! Pretty neat! Still waiting for the farm tour vid...greetings from Canada ~ Colin
Great job Tom. Nice quality bucket, like the thickness of the steel. Reminds me of repairing the buckets on the cat 990s, beefing them up with 30mm bis 80 plate. Look forward to the next vid 👍 Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I'm A Grain Train Driver for Rockley Transport! We have over 110 Tipper wagons availible... we can shift about 3000 tonnes! Us drivers love nothing better then a quick turn around.
My 3 year-old son just said “oh, we’re watching that bald guy?” and I yelled “No, it’s Tom Lamb, he’s a farmer!” In all fairness, he likes to call out my baldness too.
This stuff is so interesting. You get to see where food comes from from the perspective of the farmer. A lot of food documentaries kind of sterilize the process.
defo the better way of doing it few farms around where i used to live moved from these style grain stores to actual grain bins bet it takes 3x the time to fill from a grain bin, wasn't to far from you really on the Lincolnshire Leicestershire border
How do you find the JCB for reliability? Tom Pemberton loves them but believes they are unreliable (breakdowns) so sticks with Manitou. How challenging is that big bucket to handle full? Are you adjusting the tilt when raising the arm with a full bucket (when not filming 😂)?
Nice bucket, but does it clatter the end of the boom if you crowd it too far back? 😉 I love your videos takes me back to when I farmed circa 2000 I thought we were quick loading grain with a Volvo BM loading shovel with a toe tip bucket that had come off Immingham Docks but I think you’d have given us a run for our money!
Trying to figure out if 1994 Kev would be amazed or disappointed that 2024 Kev is watching some random dude on the other side of the planet gushing about his new frontend loader bucket before loading a lorry with wheat all filmed on his telephone.
@@Tomlamb980 big old piece I used to use the strimech bucket on the loader I drove that had a one ton capacity I believe I don’t know what it weighed but it was big. Yours is even bigger.
Next, he will just have a machine that picks up the trailer, uses the trailer as a bucket, and then puts the trailer back on the cab..
Whenever I watch your channel I feel like an amazed toddler

It will come in time
That quick release is nifty. Very cool.
Good on you Tom.
Nice job Tom.
It always shows, invest in good kit and the job looks easy.
you make that look easy tom ... passed my telehandler a few years back never realy used it lol the crab walk bit is mind blowing lol
This was actually entertaining. A view we mere mortals never get to see! More please!?!?!

Thanks 👍
That’s a well built bucket Tom. Perfect for the JCB
Thank You Tom 👍
Thats one hell of a grain bucket. Sheesh!

seeing the reaction of the mum or dad of a little kid pointing out my bald head is always a treat. :)
Great video as always, i love the way you explain things. 👍
If I tried to do that I would trash the walls of the barn, trash the sides of the lorry, and get wheat all over the road.

Smooth operator
He’s a smooth operator
Nicely done 👍 ❤
now that was a bit quicker than a bucket and spade. :)
Top job 👌🏻
Seems to work well enough, but I think I'll stick with the auger.
Nice allbutt bucket match with JCB 👍🏻I’d like to see a load cell to count the loads.

Nice machine Tom! How many tonnes does that machine load in a year? How many acres do you farm?
Load and loads
nice bucket :)
It's so big.
=D

@@Tomlamb980 just a bit! Keep up the top work.
Tom, what sort of hygiene standards do you need for grain storage?

ITS TOM!!! LETS GOOO!
Just maintaining your equipment must be a full-time job, what time do you have to get up in the morning?

I guess the actual weight loaded is measured on delivery?
There is a weigher on the lorry
I've always wondered if you have a vermin problem storing grain like this, you see it all the time not just with grains but potatoes and carrots etc
Don’t seem to have a problem with the precautions that are taken
Just wondering, is the haulage cost down to you or the buyer ?
The buyer usually
I wonder how often someone puts the bucket a little too far and unloads on the otherside of the trailer
Many times
Presumably you cant load cereal in the rain given you go to great lengths to dry it out? Would you back the lorry into the unit for loading?
Yes we sometimes do
That bucket nearly wants to be a high tip

Be amazed
How big is the bucket? I reckon it's almost as big as Tom's work ethic :)
Is it good ?
@@Tomlamb980 It's huge :)
To be fair.
Roughly what is the payback time on that shed from you being your own stockist? Are we talking 3 years or is it more like 10 years?
3 years pre Covid 5 years after Covid prices
That’s pretty decent. Minor maintenance up to ten years and a full overhaul at twenty makes it a good buy :o) @@Tomlamb980
Video idea
get a certain neighbour of yours who has lots of experience on youtube to advise on a cheap camera set-up
How much does the bucket weigh empty please.
1250kg I think
