There's something both intimate and solitary about this movement, as though the listener is placed in a unique sound world to reflect on the image of the shepherds. The staccato right hand part brings to my mind the flickering of a distant star.
@@video_camera Quite difficult to be honest but I love a good challenge. Very oddly timed meters/rhythms that are so foreign to anything else I've played before!
@@dafunkyshit Chords are some of the most interesting I've heard. Really chromatic. Reminds me of Thierry Lancino's Prism (really recommended, although not really convinced of its musical aspect).

There's something very cosmic about it. It strangely reminds me of something you'd hear in a 16-bit videogame like Super Metroid
Indeed. It is quite haunting and plaintive to me. I love this piece so much that I'm currently having a go at it on the keyboard.
How's it going?@@dafunkyshit

Aidan:
Les Berger from Messiaen's nativity, that was used in The Favorite. A very sweet but also very dissonant piece that never wants to go "home".
Great director. Was quite surprised to hear it in that film. Hadn't listened to it in years. It is gorgeous. What an amazing composer.
@@dafunkyshit He chose many lesser known pieces for the score. Pleasantly surprised, and a bunch of new discoveries too!
Beautiful. Btw did you receive my email from 28th December ?
