I hope you have a great day and enjoy the video! It is the first Alternative History Zelda Theory we do on the channel so we want to see your feedback. No doubt Jason fits perfectly for this format ;)
tha was a good theory , and it's suprising that there was no one talked about that before in a video , but some thing that i wanted to mention her is that hero of time was actually remembered as a hero in child time line , some thing that could be explained her in this video th-cam.com/video/oOjwmUY4DYk/w-d-xo.html an other thing that might prove that hero of time was remembered as a hero in child time line , is when paying attention to some dialogues of twilight princess you will see that characters of that game mention "ancient hero" or past hero not hero of time , which mean that people did not remembered him by title of hero of time , because that prophecy of a bad guy which enter sacred realm and touch triforce only to be defeated by some one called as hero of time and with help of seven sages never happened in child time line , with out forgetting that he was not remembered in adult time line like how he was remembered in child time line , because in adult one people remembered him for saving hyrule of ganon , while in child one he was remembered for his deeds that he did for hyrule after his search for navi which you could know about if you watch that video , and may be his deeds when he was a hylian knight
proble is how hero of time is forced to do some thing about hyrule when it's in danger , because while he is an unique guy who could do a lot of things that average knight can not do , despit being able to leave termina and continue searching for navi after receiving ocarina of time from skull kid rather than saving it , or living in kokiri village and defand it rather than becoming a hylian kinght when ganon dorf was attacking hyrule since he was after all a child who could chose to not drag him self into any of that , he could not chose that because of his nature to save people and because of being some one who never turn his back to these who are in danger , so he did not cared about being remembered as a hero but he cared about having a normal life , and despit that pressure and suffering he had from that life as a hero , this life though him lessons that was important to a point where he lived with regrats from being un able to pass them until hero of twilight start his journey

I can think of more “links” to these timelines but it would be to much to type.
Yeah, I didn’t realize the full impact of that ending at the time. I believed that Link would go do whatever for seven years, and end up waking up in the temple of time somehow. I should have known better and Zelda especially should have.
Link would have already died of old age by the time Ganondorf broke free in the Adult timeline. Remember, it was Wind Waker's King of Hyrule (a descendent of OOT Zelda) the made the wish to have the goddesses to flood Hyrule shortly after Ganondorf broke free. So nothing would have been better in the Adult Timeline if Link stayed in the end. In fact, things would actually be worse since the Child Timeline would never exist. Zelda did nothing wrong.
Same here. Plus I say they should port every Zelda game to the Switch, including my least favorite, Skyward Sword. I would play the shit out of Majora Mask, Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, OOT being my favorite Zelda game of all time. Something they could do, also, but will never happen is having a new game that is set up just a couple years after OoT with the same Link, as an Adult that he won against Ganon or after the event of Majora's Mask. There's still place for a story, in between them. Maybe it is stupid, but I could totally see two games, right there.
VDLS Hes a TH-camr that fully overhauled OOT in the unreal engine 4. It looks amazing but I still prefer the 3D remasters because they have a charm to them that his doesn’t. I just want OOT and mm 3D in HD
The Adult Timeline is when Link stays in the future. Otherwise, the Adult timeline wouldn't exist because Link would undo it as a child. They are more alternate realities than parallel times. Link can't both have died at Ganon's hands and defeated him and lived. He can't have went back in time and undo the dark future and still have that dark future come to past seeing as his actions in the past directly altered the future in OoT. These things are mutually exclusive. Oddly enough the Downfall was the happiest I guess because you had that Golden Age, which didn't end until Calamity Ganon. And after that there was supposedly 10,000 years of peace.
Akuma the Lion No the Adult Timeline and flood occurs because of the Child Timeline. It’s clearly stated in WW that The Hero of Winds isn’t descended from the Hero of Time..... All 3 timelines can exist. Do your research.
@@leomuricy 100% Agree. Imagine that was the epic start of the game. I'd imagine the Dark Interlopers/Sheikah Lore would be fleshed out more too and possibly a new villain of the series.
@@Destanyxoxo As a courageous hero, I doubt he would be fazed too much. I suspect he would continue to look for Navi and meet Zelda again as she suspected they would meet again in Majora's Mask in a flashback memory.
First, obviously, Zelda never watched the "Back to the Future" trilogy. Second, Link's offspring didn't necessarily have to be sons, they could have been daughters, and they likely would have been no less proficient in defending Hyrule, as the series shows the realm was not short of effective female combatants, (i.e. Impa and even Zelda/Sheik.)

@@lukejones7164 She most certainly did do something wrong. By sending him back in time, she removed the spirit of the hero from her timeline and created an alternate reality known as the child timeline. Because of that foolish mistake, another Link could not be born by the time Ganondorf broke the seal, so he attacked Hyrule unopposed. When Link returned to the child timeline, the triforce of courage that he had broke into eight pieces and was replaced with the triforce of courage from the new timeline. Since his heart was not balanced, triforce split up and Ganondorf got the triforce of power that saved him from death.
Zelda: I was so young. I could not comprehend the consequences of trying to control the Sacred Realm. Zelda: [fails to comprehend the consequences of sending Link back to his own chilldhood, leaving Hyrule defenseless] I always figured that things would have been much better off if Link had stopped Zelda and refused her offer to send him back to relive his childhood, on the grounds that Ganondorf's temporary seal was just that: temporary, and that he and the Master Sword needed to be present to take him on when he returned.
Ganondorf's temporary seal was not even an issue in the Child Timeline. He was not sealed anymore but imidietally dealt with by royal family which lead to the execution seen in Twilight Princess.

@@lukejones7164 OOT Zelda clearly had good intentions wanting the hero of time to relive those 7 years that had been taken from him but couldn't have known what would happen down the line, yes Zelda made a mistake but in the end i doubt it would have mattered due to Demises curse still being around to revive Gannon or Gannondorf
Lots of people seem to think that Link would be happy in this time, but that's just not true. He would have felt cheated out of his childhood since he could never get those seven years back. Dark Link is the manifestation of Link's internal frustrations as he feels he is being used without care for himself. If zelda hadn't brought him back in time, he would have lived feeling used as no one tried to make up for what he had to go through. When Zelda brought him back, she showed him that there was someone who cared. Someone who saw him more than just a hero, but as a person. The Hero of Time's life is destined to be tragic and full of regrets no matter what reality unfolds. At least he no longer feels cheated out of his youth.
I don't think it is implied or even hinted he felt cheated out of his Dark link isn't the manifestation of his internal frustratiions ever while I get your point about link feeling slightly cheated out his childhood I don't think something like that will make him miserable after saving the world every link is destined for happiness the hero of time and zelda broke that rule however and he was regretful Remember link was destined to be the greatest hero thats what the hero of time is (i will mention more about this below) Link has everything he could have wanted in the unified timeline (except his childhood) -A lover (zelda) -Friends (we don't really know about the current status of the sages) -An absurd amount of fame (All races even those loyal to ganon respected him and saw himas one of their own, gerudo membership and brother of gorons, even ganondorf referred to him by name which he has done for no one else ) The greatest legend -he was remembered centuries later and people would pray to him before praying to the Gods -In windwaker Hyrule no longer existed yet people still remembered and worshiped the hero of time -He had a statue of his honor in hyrule castle -In breath of the wild like 100,000 years later Ocarina is still referenced with even names being remembered of the sages(dive beasts and ruto stone tablet) yet more recent games aren't referenced. Even 10000 years ago not a single name remains In botw the story of OOT is more detailed than the story of 10,000 years ago enough said
Okay but this timeline woulf still benefit him since Link wouldn't have stayed in regret like in the CT. Friendly reminder the people begged for him to return during the Flood Era.
The only thing the Zelda was trying to do is give link the opportunity to live the childhood they he was denied if he stayed in the present. There was nothing selfish about her wanting to Send link back to the past, as this video implies. The link that became the hero's shade Got to do everything that you all said would happened. The only missing thing is he did not get credit for what happened in Ocarina of time. I can't say I like this negative spin they try to put on Zelda simply trying to allow link to live his life naturally.
Zelda had good intentions, but the result was far from ideal. Link already ended up going on another adventure not long after he was sent back, and I don't think he enjoyed his time in Termina much (At the very least, that experience would be extremely stressful for most people). He seems to have died feeling unsatisfied or unfulfilled with his life, resulting in his spirit lingering in Hyrule as the "Hero's Shade" for many decades (Or even centuries) until he was finally able to pass on his skills, so it seems he didn't have a "Happy Ending". In the end, his life probably would have been better off if he'd stayed as an "adult", especially if he never had to fight anything like Majora's Mask and was able to pass on his skills to his children, or students, in a relatively peaceful Hyrule.
I agree zelda made a mistake thats all there was no ill intent but also want to add some things 1. wasn't remembered as a hero 2. couldn't pass on his skills this in turn meant he had no legacy which is why he was able to pass on tp If he stayed there is a 95% chance he would have married zelda to say she would actually have disdain for link is so dumb it's why I don't like their videos theres no logic she sent him back because she felt as if she screwed him over when she put her hand on his she clearly looked upset and it's strongly implied they both shared romantic feelings. And since she is the only noble left there is no need for her to marry someone of importance since they are all dead his descendants likely would have beaten ganondorf and hyrules army would have been likely way more powerful than any other timeline
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions" there's no way Zelda would know if what she was doing was the v right call but let's not act like link had no choice. He was 17 years old physically but 10 mentally having the opportunity to get those 7 years back more than likely sounded like a great idea to him too. Based on the hero's shade gear he still became a rather high ranking knight. Not to mention, He came back as a 10 year old with the all the combat experience from a quest no one remembers he was a beast. Remember the hero of twilight isn't just a spiritual descendant like the hero of winds. He's actually a direct descendent. Meaning the hero of time did have children he may have died when they were too young to teach them anything. The hero of time met a lot of women who were attracted or showed feelings towards him in his story: ruto, nabooru, Malon and Saria. Zelda, and i can't stress this enough, never showed she was attracted to link. so you can't assume he'd be king of hyrule if he stayed in that time line. she solely views him as a ally. Being sent back to the past before he met half of the people i listed also cuts out nabooru and ruto. Saria is perpetually a child and technically not even humanoid, taking her out of the running meaning of his descendants are related to any female character we know it is most likely Malon. Which is only further confirmed by the hero of twilight being a ranch hand, a job that a lot of people are born into. After returning from termina there's no telling what else the hero of time went through but clearly his story didn't stop after majora's mask. A lot of you tubers assume that since he died with regret it had to be some random battle or war. I think it's deeper than that. One thing we have to keep in mind is any time Ganon is sealed there's another story where someone tried to revive him. I think that the hero of time, having control over time used his power to help the hero of twilight he knew would one day come and gave his life to prevent a Ganon resurrection attempt we don't know about his regret coming from not being alive to prepare his descendant himself. That's why you see all those hero's shade stones in places the hero of twilight has to go. because the hero of time knew his descendant would need them in those locations. And if my theory is right and he died preventing a Ganon resurrection, that means the no matter how you look at it, if link stayed as an adult or not, the era without a hero would be inevitable. One way or the other wind waker was going to happen... because a hero wouldn't be there to stop it.
@@geoffreytasker2097 Yeah he was likely alive when Ganondorf was to be executed in the start of Twilight Princess and maybe knew something was up when there was no body because they probably said it was successful and lied about sending him to the Twilight Realm. He would probably know that Zelda received her triforce piece some time after he came back and would guess that Ganondorf got his which makes him a great threat. He was probably constantly on guard for a return of Ganondorf and while searching for Navi probably looked for the Twinrova witches too who were probably trying to bring Ganondorf back while also settling down with Malon. He likely died before his kids were of age to teach swordsmanship so they just learned from Malon how to operate a ranch. What killed him though is a mystery, maybe a villain who he needed the master sword to have a chance, but he did it with his regular sword and died as a result while taking it down with him. We know he lived for at least a bit to have kids and develop a relationship with the Gorons.
The Triforce is extremely flawed across the board. Link; has more courage than anyone in the land, but can never truly finish off evil. Zelda; has inhuman knowledge with the Triforce of wisdom, but always gets caught or tricked. Ganon; has limitless power and influence, but is always defeated. Even when he had all *THREE* pieces of the Triforce, he was defeated in ALttP. Some relic of the gods it is... if I were Link, I'd destroy it. It's essentially the cause of everything and would end the spiritual successions of the main three, thus ending the turmoil with it. But then we wouldn't have Zelda at all, lol
@@Linksoer it's the cause of everything, including existence itself lol. But still, I have no idea why its flawed, but I am glad it is because of the great games we got out of them. I've been with this series for 25 years, and I don't intend on stopping!
Fanfiction time, concept in progress. I'm calling the project LoZ: Lady of Night. Where the Lost piece of the Triforce (shape not number) is with this girl named Luna from a gloomy steampunk alternate world. She's hunted and captured by a Sorceress that's been hunting down this Piece of the Triforce, and is taken to Hyrule where she has a crazy ass tower. Thing is she mistakes it's shadow and dream magic for dark magic. But really this piece is called the Triforce of Kindness, from the Goddess of Night that died long, long ago. That Goddess was a guardian of dreams, deep places, the lost, the scared, and secrets. But with her dead the darkness is now something to be afraid of, and all what's left of her is the moon, stars and the Triforce of Kindness. The Sorceress just wants the power of the Triforce, so she has Luna to extract it some how. Killing only makes it leave. Luna reaches out to people in their dreams. Most forget or soon mistake her as a bad omen including Zelda. Link is the only to take up her plea for help...crazy tower rescue and escape...Zelda doesn't trust Luna and thinks she's a ploy to free Ganon...Link helps Luna get away and gives her supplies...Luna goes into hiding once more and ends up befriending the Gorons, and things are similar to Snow White...Link though is having a shadow issue and is getting weaker as the Tower and the surrounding shadow is getting larger and more full of monsters...Luna helps Link with his Shadow whom tells them she's stealing power from the Twilight Realm. And they do boss fights to save the day... Book Two (Possibly. Only just coming up with this one so it's really rough). It takes place years later were Luna and Link are to be married soon but Kotake and Koume make good on their promise of haunting Link, and aim to kill The Seed of the Hero that could prevent the Flood, and be the line to the Hero of the Wild. Luna has been working with the Sheikah apprentices of Zelda to create machines to help future heroes in protecting Hyrule. The First few "Devine Beasts" are: a horse motorbike, a whale, a wolf, and a dragon. They are the prototypes before a Crab and the official Devine Beats that would be crafted after Zelda, Link and Luna die. Besides being an engineer helping the Sheikah, Gorons, and Gerudo, Luna and Link: are Guardians of the Kokiri settlement, planning their wedding, and soon to be parents that they'll find out as the story goes.
Me: So if Link hadn't gotten sent back in time he most likely would have lived a happy life with a loving family, passed on his skills, been knighted a hero, and stabilized the timeline. why would anyone in their right minds ever send him back? Lore Expert: The events of Majora's Mask would never have happened. Me: YOU SEND THAT BOY BACK IN TIME RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!!
facepwnagewtf what if Navi still disappeared so he went looking for her as an adult and majora’s mask happens and he gets a happy life as a god with the strength of fierce deity and the powers of the ocarina of time
There is the possibility that Ruto would get jealous or something since the Zora Sapphire was supposed to be for her future boyfriend and husband or that he would go out with her instead but I highly doubt that though. Just a thought that occurred when you mentioned the Sages because I remembered that little detail
@@nworder4lifeShe is definitely alive. The only difference between the adult and downfall timelines is that Link dies due to the final boss fight and Ganon gets the whole Triforce. All the sages have descendants in the downfall timeline, and they mostly don’t have kids at the time of being sages. They return to the physical world at the end of the game.
Sending Link back in time was not stupid at all. It prevented the seven years of terror and since Ganondorf had to subjugate himself to reach what he wanted with intrigues, it was certain that Gerudo would fall against Hyrule. What they could not know was that Ganondorf kept the Triforce of Power. And we don't know whether the Era without a Hero was within what would have been the Hero of Time's lifetime. The chosen heroes also don't have to be related to each other.
It doomed both timelines link wasnt really present in those wars then the adult timeline was mostly dead due to the flood the king only let selected subjects and servants get to the highest mountains so alot died It would have probably be the adult timeline with the hero present in the battle
@@keatonr776 Wind Waker happens because he stayed in the future. That's what the adult timeline is. Or should I say alternate reality. Otherwise, there would be no adult reality because child Link and Zelda stopped the dark future from ever happening in the first place. Link can't have died and lived at the same time. He can't have prevented the dark future, but there still be a dark future. They are all mutually exclusive events. Hence, completely separate alternate realities that played out differently.
@Pumpkin Soup it's even implied that Link doesn't necessarily needs to be a guy to be the hero, heck the Link from Wind waker ain't descendant nor reincarnation of the Hero. After him showing his courage he was chosen to be the new one. A mere random kiddo who just happens to look like link. So that's why a female link ain't far fetch.
YOU THOUGH I WAS A NAME BUT IT WAS I DIO well think of it like the last air bender maybe? like the first Avatar was a male but there have been female avatars too. idk just a thought
Ya know...the only thing i ever had always wondered about the whole sealing of Ganon/Ganondorf is. Why couldn't the sages seal Ganon without Link fighting him first....was they that weak? Zelda being the reincarnated Goddess should have no problem taking care of Ganondorf herself. Just a thought
@KoolAid Flavas @@KumiChan2004 You need to take into account the idea that the further down the bloodline goes the stronger people get... Like we're getting older and older. Lots of old people today are over 100 years old while in the earlier days they didn't even reach 90.
Because he had the triforce of power. You saw this in Twilight Princess when the sages couldn't execute Ganondorf and had to send him to the Twilight Realm. No, they couldn't do it themselves without the Hero of Time defeating him first. Zelda is strong, but she's not the one chosen by the gods to defeat evil.
@@OfficialFedHater That's kind of contradictory considering it's confirmed in the Downfall Timeline's history that Zelda and Sages were able to seal Ganondorf with the full triforce.
@@firionkaiser8291 They didn't do it themselves though, they lost a lot of knights. And they never defeated Ganondorf, they just closed the dark world with him in it, had he been in Hyrule, there wouldn't really be a way for them to stop him.
I couldn’t help but notice in the speculation of whether or not the Hero of Time should have stayed in the future timeline, that Zelda had no feelings for Link when she sent him back. That isn’t true. In the Manga, as Zelda sends Link back, she does in fact admit that she loves him. I just wanted to point that out. :)
You remember in wind waker ganondorf was able to use his triforce of power to detect the triforce of wisdom tetra had? In my mind the reason there was no hero to oppose ganon in the adult timeline is because he used this ability of the triforce to locate the hero before he awakened to his destiny and thus wasn't able to defeat ganon
Unlikely. Ganondorf would have the triforce of courage if that were the case. The Link in WW is said to NOT be a reincarnation of the hero's spirit. There can't be since the spirit was sent back in time. The triforce of Courage fractured in the adult timeline when Link was sent back. Hence the massive fetch quest for triforce of courage pieces in WW. This new Hero has to be acknowledged by the gods before he's able to wield the Master Sword. He then gets defacto reincarnation privileges for spirit tracks. I know, it's super convoluted but that's really the canon. I can honestly see why Nintendo wanted to do a soft reset with botw.
This is the most savage thing I've heard. I remember playing this game as a 12 year old. You don't think about these things at that age. Now as an adult, damn this is tragic: "The Hero to Time had a tragic life since his birth. Being orphaned as an infant and being feed a lie for the first few years of his life. For the most of us it's generally accepted that his life could not end on a good note due to Ganondorf but that is simply wrong. Since the Hero of Time as an adult defeated both Ganondorf and Ganon and was ready to celebrate with everyone else until Zelda cut that thought short by sending him back to his depressing childhood in order to mend her own mistake. We all know how that ended."
Man Hero Of Time truly got the worst fate, bruh did so much work to loose his companion, and in the original timeline all of Link’s friends died 😭, and then Hyrule flooded too, and in the child timeline he never got to teach his legacy. Rip Legend of Time Link, he was a true hero
I remember playing Wind Waker and when it said a Link didn’t show up I remembered the ocarina I’d time ending and when everyone questioned where Link was, I was like “WELL EXCUUUSE ME, PRINCESS.”
I always enjoy playing BOTW while listening to these videos, but by playing BOTW while watching, I noticed something peculiar: The Champion’s Tunic and the Barbarian (Zonai) Armor are the only pieces of clothing that link wears with an arm brace on the right side. Coincidence? Probably.
I always have this theory of a 4th timeline. Sending link back to childhood was only his spirit but not his shell of his body which zelda put somewhere to sleep. I really thought BOTW was going be Hero of Time waking up but I guess I was wrong ^_^
I keep getting distracted by the editing. It's the same clips over and over with inconsistent art styles on the same scenes. And on top of that half the tine the clips are unrelated to the words being said.
THIS COULD BE WHERE BOTW BELONGS IN THE TIME LINE. I can think of more “links” to these timelines but it would be to much to type.
1 thing is certain, Link would have definitely become a knight and I suspect that if any political figures survived ganondorfs attack, they would push for Zelda to marry Link as a means of gaining favor with all of Hyrule especially if the people mistrust the royal family for the hell of the 7 years they went through. I think Zelda could come to love him very quickly and he probably would softly and slowly fall in love as those adult feelings would bombard him out the gate. Link would be crowned King eventually and the Kingdom would celebrate their union with Zeld abearing children and preparing for Ganondorfs eventual return while Link trains Hylian knights. The other possibility with Maron is just as likely. The royal family could decide they need to strengthen their kingdom with new leadership, perhaps a prince from a different land to become the next King. Have Zelda apologize to the people on behalf of the previous monarch's foolishness and declare she will serve her lord husband to the best of her ability, while in reality the husband would be a figurehead while she sets up a force to watch the seal of ganondorf and prepare the next generation of sages. Meanwhile Link would be the people's hero, serve the kingdom faithfully against evil monsters with the master sword and likely get a place within the castle at least until new quarters are created for hylian knights. Link would eventually gain status and money and could take Marin away from the ranch to be his wife, Lon Lon milk could expand into a business and Talon could retire while more ranchers milk cows and distribute the milk. Many years later Link and Malon leave with their kids to live in a quiet village, he seals the master sword in the lost woods and starts a new village near where the Kokori used to live, this will become Ordon village.
I feel that this is how BoTW becomes the converged timeline, in which all stories/games occurred. This becomes more true as fate or destiny plays a role, as seen in the Gods’ decision to flood Hyrule in WW as an example. They choose this fate most likely because they KNEW what would happen; the evolved Zora as the Rito, the founding of New Hyrule, etc. (Also, the time stones/Ocarina could seem like a slap in the face to the Gods as well, cause yk, splitting Triforce stuff)
I think that the downfall timeline isn’t just an alternate universe in which link died, but a timeline branch created as a result of the meddling with time
That actually makes sense when you consider that it's required to go back in time and to the future again at least once to complete the game. This would end up leaving behind at least one timeline branch wherein the hero simply disappears without sealing away Ganon. The only problem is that the hero is supposedly "defeated" in the downfall timeline instead of going missing.
Even if Link had descendants, they wouldn't have been able to wield the Master Sword, the Spirit of the Hero reincarnates almost randomly when the time is needed, it's not passed through blood like Hylia's powers in the royal family.
One crucial detail you ignored is that if Link is not sent back to the past, Majora destroys all of Termina, and would almost certainly eventually come to Hyrule to do something similar, in which case, divine intervention similar to what we see in the prologue of Wind Waker would be Hyrule's only hope of survival regardless. Things certainly could have ended better, but they could have also ended a lot worse.
No, the adult timeline is when Link was sent back in time, the future that he saved continued to exist without him and that became the adult timeline. The child timeline is the past that he changes by having knowledge of the future.
Oh and also he most likely died tragically, possibly not even meeting his children, and then wander as a ghost skeleton until he could live vicariously through his famous grandson.
The idea of Link's bloodline descendants battling Ganon through the ages gives me a lot of "Castlevania Vibes"...... A specific family line.. fighting an evil that is reborn time and time again?? The legend of ZeldaVania lol
Who knows what could've prevented the Hero Of Time from going back to the past. Either because the Ocarina Of Time was destroyed, the sages convinced Zelda that it wasn't in her best interest to return the Hero Of Time to the past or somehow the Hero Of Time was no longer able to return to the past regardless if the Master Sword was returned.
So, there is this enduring theory that young Link warned Zelda about Ganondorf’s intentions, resulting in his arrest and execution in TP, but there is one plot hole: he still has the Triforce of Power. Unless he somehow stole the Ocarina and rushed to the sacred realm before they could catch him, there is no way he would have been able to get it. Further, if he DID have it when he was caught, there is no way in hell anyone could have stopped him. Much less “arrest” him. Divine prank for sure.
If you watch closely, OOT kid link still has the Triforce in the ending. The most accepted theory is that, since the Triforce from the Adult Timeline left Link as soon as he returned to the Past, the Triforce from the Child Timeline replaced it, breaking that Triforce into three again. Ganondorf likely didn't know he had it until the sages tried to kill him. This is why the Hero of Twilight, a descendent of the Hero of Time, has the Triforce of Courage from the beginning.
The biggest change is that the Triforce of Courage is not Split because Link was not removed from existence. The easier creation of the next hero is a factor for the continual survival of Hyrule but The Triforce of Courage is Key.
Hyrule would be better if that had happened but there would be one major consequence. Termina and all it's inhabitants would die with no hero to save it.
This video makes no sense. Also, Link made no objections to going back in time in the end, and we have no idea about what Link got into after Majora's Mask.
It's not bad but I feel like it commits a bit of a leap in logic. Wind Waker makes it clean that a direct descendant is not necessary for a hero to rise so conversely having a direct descendant also doesn't guarantee a hero will rise. It seems unlikely that one extra family line would make that much difference in a war centuries later. OoT Link certainly would have had a better life it seems likely that WW would have happened just the same.
The thing that I despise about the timeline split is that when Zelda sent link back to the past to warn everybody about Ganondorf’s plan thus preventing his rein of terror that means that the adult timeline should be erased from existence. You change something in the past and you erase the future you left, that’s rule number one of time travel! Or are you telling me that the adult timeline happened because in one outcome link just didn’t bother telling the royal family about Ganondorf. Why the hell would he do that! that is the reason he was sent back. Link isn’t that dumb or is he just evil and want to see Hyrule burn. Honestly if I was a link I would just turn full Joker or Clint Eastwood and kill Zelda and everyone for putting me through this shit...
that's 1 theory of time travel, another theory is that a new timeline is made without destroying what already exists. The adult timeline happened because everything you did during the game happened, it wasn't erased when you changed the past, a new timeline was created.
I have always thought how in the world the whole Zelda /Mipha/Ruto love square(?) would have worked. Cause Link accepted the sapphire from Ruto making him pledged to marry her. Then in BOTW Link seems to love ZELDA WHILE MIPHA IS CLEARLY IN LOVE WITH HIM! AY CARAMBA! TALK ABOUT A FEUD ON MAURY/JERRY SPRINGER.
You should do a what if video about what if Link was never sealed away with the master sword for seven years in oot. Would he have been able to defeat Ganon as child link and how would if affect the split timelines. Any thoughts?
Nintendo should make a Zelda game where there’s a cult that wants to kill all of Zelda’s family since as long as they’re alive, Ganon will be reincarnated. The cult would think they’re doing good by committing a necessary evil (arguable they would) I think it’d be cool since the villain would switch up, and it’d be Link’s job to protect Zelda
There is one thing I never understood. The Hero isnt always related to the previous Hero, like they are not all blood relatives. I would say most aren't. So if Link was sent back to his own time and hundereds of years past before Ganon broke free of the seal then why is there no new Hero? Like the Hero of Winds rose up from not being a decendant. Why was there no Hero to face Ganon. Thats why I always thought the Great Flood was within the average Hylian life span, so less than 100 years. This would make no Hero make more sense as the Hero Hyrule would have had is gone.
Now if there happens to actually be a hero of the flood (which would make sense actually) it makes you wonder if the outcome of Great Flood Era would be different or not. Probably.
I see lots of ppl covering the 3 timelines and what if timelines, I rarely ever see anyone covering the 4th timeline though. It would allow HW to become canon and possibly explain BotW filling all gaps in the other 3 timelines. Such a shame IMO.
1:50 Well it really depends on Two Things: How long did the War last and can the Fierce Deity slay a Ganondorf without the Triforce of Power? A single swipe of the Fierce Deity's Helix Blade would have bisected Ganondorf with the Triforce of Power then appearing on his hand in his death throes trying and failing to revive him as he was quite literally split in two. If the War lasted anywhere between 3 to 7 years then Link could have drawn the Master Sword as their are Heroes younger then the Hero of Time who could wield the Master Sword. 3 years seems to be for Link to be able to wield the blade at all while 7 years is the optimal amount of time for him to be able to wield it.
I will always ship MalonXLink when it comes to this timeline, maybe put Linkle as the granddaughter of Link and Malon and the next hero of Courage, alongside her younger brother they unite Hyrule once more against Ganon. Wish that was a fanfic
Something they could do, also, but will never happen is having a new game that is set up just a couple years after OoT with the same Link, as an Adult that he won against Ganon or after the event of Majora's Mask. There's still place for a story, in between them. Maybe it is stupid, but I could totally see two games, right there.
That would mean there would be 4 timelines. The Downfall Timeline where there Hero of Time falls to Ganondorf, The Child Timeline where the Hero Of Time is sent back to warn the royal family of Hyrule that Ganondorf is going to betray the royal family and The Adult Timeline The Hero Of Time is sent back after Ganondorf's and his final form Ganon are defeated and Ganondorf returns without interference. This would be the 4th timeline where the Hero Of Time wasn't sent back to the past because of the scenarios that could've prevented Hero Of Time from returning to the past. 1. The sages warned Zelda not to send the Hero Of Time to the past by telling her that returning the Hero Of Time to the past would doom Hyrule when Ganondorf eventually returns. 2. The Hero Of Time didn't want to return to the past and convinced Zelda enough to keep him in the future. 3. The Ocarina Of Time was destroyed or lost while in the process of fighting Ganondorf or his final form Ganon. 4. The events that lead to the Adult Timeline inevitable which The Hero Of Time could explain to Zelda in the Alternative Adult timeline. 5. Somehow in this Alternative Adult Timeline the Hero Of Time fulfilled his destiny and in doing so he can no longer return to the past even if he returns the Master Sword. 6. In the process of returning the Master Sword the Hero Of Time is attacked by a bunch of monsters who are faithful to Ganondorf that want to kill the Hero Of Time to avenge Ganondorf's fall.
If Link stayed in the future we probably would have gotten A Link to the past. Since the split timeline was basically made because Nintendo years after Ocarina realized that Zelda did something really stupid by sending Link to the past. And by that point they couldn't do anything to fix their mess.
I hope you have a great day and enjoy the video! It is the first Alternative History Zelda Theory we do on the channel so we want to see your feedback. No doubt Jason fits perfectly for this format ;)
tha was a good theory , and it's suprising that there was no one talked about that before in a video , but some thing that i wanted to mention her is that hero of time was actually remembered as a hero in child time line , some thing that could be explained her in this video
th-cam.com/video/oOjwmUY4DYk/w-d-xo.html
an other thing that might prove that hero of time was remembered as a hero in child time line , is when paying attention to some dialogues of twilight princess you will see that characters of that game mention "ancient hero" or past hero not hero of time , which mean that people did not remembered him by title of hero of time , because that prophecy of a bad guy which enter sacred realm and touch triforce only to be defeated by some one called as hero of time and with help of seven sages never happened in child time line , with out forgetting that he was not remembered in adult time line like how he was remembered in child time line , because in adult one people remembered him for saving hyrule of ganon , while in child one he was remembered for his deeds that he did for hyrule after his search for navi which you could know about if you watch that video , and may be his deeds when he was a hylian knight
proble is how hero of time is forced to do some thing about hyrule when it's in danger , because while he is an unique guy who could do a lot of things that average knight can not do , despit being able to leave termina and continue searching for navi after receiving ocarina of time from skull kid rather than saving it , or living in kokiri village and defand it rather than becoming a hylian kinght when ganon dorf was attacking hyrule since he was after all a child who could chose to not drag him self into any of that , he could not chose that because of his nature to save people and because of being some one who never turn his back to these who are in danger , so he did not cared about being remembered as a hero but he cared about having a normal life , and despit that pressure and suffering he had from that life as a hero , this life though him lessons that was important to a point where he lived with regrats from being un able to pass them until hero of twilight start his journey
I love what if theories like this, thank you for bringing up an interesting scenario!
I luv this kind of butterfly effect thing, do more of it. =D
THIS COULD BE WHERE BOTW BELONGS IN THE TIME LINE. PLEASE DO A FULL THEORY VIDEO ON THIS @Commonwealth Realm It explains the names of the divine beasts the existence of Lon Lon ranch, the survival of the gerudo and the sheika residing in kakariko village. I can think of more “links” to these timelines but it would be to much to type.
Impa: So where is Link?
Zelda: Oh I sent him back in time so he can live his childhood.
Impa: YOU DID WHAT!?
Zelda: BTW...shouldn't we have disappeared by now?
Impa: I should have taught you about quantum mechanics...
Zelda: Wait so...I did something wrong?
XDDD THANK YOU FOR SAYING IT CARLOS
.... I borrowed your nail clipper, what’s the big deal??
Well, it only made sense.
Impa:GREAT SCOTT!
I remember the first time I finished the game all those years ago. "Time to send you back!" "WHAT?! YOU FOOL!"
I was just as upset. Here Link did all that work, just to find out everything he did gets erased
@@lukejones7164 there would have been an Adult Timeline Hero of Twilight to kill Ganondorf if the Hero of Time stayed.
@lukejones7164 why is the child timeline the most favorable to you?
I really want ocarina of time and majoras mask HD on the switch
We need to play cryZENx version of Ocarina of Time! But ill settle for Oot and MM hd on switch any day.
I want
Majors mask
It's still something to hope for.
VDLS Hes a TH-camr that fully overhauled OOT in the unreal engine 4. It looks amazing but I still prefer the 3D remasters because they have a charm to them that his doesn’t. I just want OOT and mm 3D in HD
FINALLY, I've been waiting a long time for someone to make this Theory, I will enjoy this, so very much
This aint the first one someone else did it like 2 years ago by someone else in the Chamber of Sages just forgot who
I’ve been waiting too
KoolAid Flavas vortexxygaming?
KoolAid Flavas really? Someone else did this theory?
I also glad of the what if.
Zelda mess everything up in the end of the game
It would result in the happiest timeline.
We wouldn't have mm or tp
Those are my fav games in the series
@@Destanyxoxo So, It would still happen in another timeline.
I need more zelda what if storys
What if ravio was not scared and was a true hero?
The entire Downfall timeline branch is technically a "what if"
Erime Nope, guess again.
It would be interesting to see what happened to the Hero of Time after Majora's Mask and before the events of Twilight Princess in The Child Timeline.
It would be nice to have a game placed in that point, possibly featuring the war between Ganondorf and Hyrule
@@leomuricy 100% Agree. Imagine that was the epic start of the game. I'd imagine the Dark Interlopers/Sheikah Lore would be fleshed out more too and possibly a new villain of the series.
I just imagined link coming back after mm and being traumatized by the events that occurred and just living in kakariko village.
@@Destanyxoxo As a courageous hero, I doubt he would be fazed too much. I suspect he would continue to look for Navi and meet Zelda again as she suspected they would meet again in Majora's Mask in a flashback memory.
Those adventures are somewhat filled in by TPHD’s etchings in Hyrule Castle Town.
Reeally liking this lore and theorizing of OoT, you're inspiring me to make my own!
Keep that good stuff coming man
First, obviously, Zelda never watched the "Back to the Future" trilogy. Second, Link's offspring didn't necessarily have to be sons, they could have been daughters, and they likely would have been no less proficient in defending Hyrule, as the series shows the realm was not short of effective female combatants, (i.e. Impa and even Zelda/Sheik.)
She never saw Samurai Jack.
Oof!
Sky Den yeah then pass it down to their to daughters or sons
Link would have already died of old age by the time Ganondorf broke free in the Adult timeline.
Zelda: [fails to comprehend the consequences of sending Link back to his own chilldhood, leaving Hyrule defenseless]
I always figured that things would have been much better off if Link had stopped Zelda and refused her offer to send him back to relive his childhood, on the grounds that Ganondorf's temporary seal was just that: temporary, and that he and the Master Sword needed to be present to take him on when he returned.
Ganondorf's seal lasted longer than just a life time.
Zelda was seventeen. Can you say you had that much forethought at that age?
So much for holding the triforce of wisdom.
Ganondorf's temporary seal was not even an issue in the Child Timeline. He was not sealed anymore but imidietally dealt with by royal family which lead to the execution seen in Twilight Princess.
Link would have already died of old age by the time Ganondorf broke free in the Adult timeline. Remember, it was Wind Waker's King of Hyrule (a descendent of OOT Zelda) the made the wish to have the goddesses to flood Hyrule shortly after Ganondorf broke free. I do wish they would explain who killed the hero of shade. The hero of time has become such a great character. Even through all these years.
It's aging. He would eventually get older and weaker than his younger day
I did it, we both wanted the last Michelob ultra he lost.
in the end everything is zeldas fault
That's why it's the "legend of Zelda"
Me and all my homies hate Zelda now
Link would have already died of old age by the time Ganondorf broke free in the Adult timeline.
At least he no longer feels cheated out of his youth.
yeah I noticed that too
I don't think it is implied or even hinted he felt cheated out of his
Dark link isn't the manifestation of his internal frustratiions ever
while I get your point about link feeling slightly cheated out his childhood I don't think something like that will make him miserable
after saving the world every link is destined for happiness
the hero of time and zelda broke that rule however and he was regretful
Remember link was destined to be the greatest hero thats what the hero of time is (i will mention more about this below)
Link has everything he could have wanted in the unified timeline (except his childhood)
-A lover (zelda)
-Friends (we don't really know about the current status of the sages)
-An absurd amount of fame (All races even those loyal to ganon respected him and saw himas one of their own, gerudo membership and brother of gorons, even ganondorf referred to him by name which he has done for no one else )
The greatest legend
-he was remembered centuries later and people would pray to him before praying to the Gods
-In windwaker Hyrule no longer existed yet people still remembered and worshiped the hero of time
-He had a statue of his honor in hyrule castle
-In breath of the wild like 100,000 years later Ocarina is still referenced with even names being remembered of the sages(dive beasts and ruto stone tablet) yet more recent games aren't referenced. Even 10000 years ago not a single name remains
In botw the story of OOT is more detailed than the story of 10,000 years ago enough said
Okay but this timeline woulf still benefit him since Link wouldn't have stayed in regret like in the CT.
Yeah, he was a child in an adults body. It's fair to let him not lose seven years of his life.
I agree zelda made a mistake thats all there was no ill intent but also want to add some things
1. wasn't remembered as a hero
2. couldn't pass on his skills
this in turn meant he had no legacy which is why he was able to pass on tp
If he stayed there is a 95% chance he would have married zelda to say she would actually have disdain for link is so dumb it's why I don't like their videos theres no logic
she sent him back because she felt as if she screwed him over when she put her hand on his she clearly looked upset and it's strongly implied they both shared romantic feelings. And since she is the only noble left there is no need for her to marry someone of importance since they are all dead
his descendants likely would have beaten ganondorf and hyrules army would have been likely way more powerful than any other timeline
Zelda not very wise for having the triforce of wisdom
Freedom Fighter It would have the same fate as Lorule.
@@Linksoer it's the cause of everything, including existence itself lol.
But still, I have no idea why its flawed, but I am glad it is because of the great games we got out of them. I've been with this series for 25 years, and I don't intend on stopping!
Freedom Fighter ALBW had that with lorule and that land went in chaos since their triforce was destroyed ....
Freedom Fighter ganondorf placed a curse on link by i mean all of them that he would always be revived do your research
Hey, you never know. Nintendo could always make another timeline where Zelda didn’t send Link back in time.
Yeah maybe breath of the wild came from there who knows?
Yeah its possible
That's what the downfall timeline is just a what if so they really just could
Fanfiction time, concept in progress.
You should do more of these because it’s awesome to think about what would happen
Thank you guys for that and it’s awesome that you liked a comment of mine!
As a kid playing Ocarina of Time, it is always felt wrong and sad being sent back seven years. No one would know Link and what he went through.
Majora's Mask is one of the best games in the series. If it comes at the cost of a fragmented timeline and a tragic hero, so be it!
facepwnagewtf what if Navi still disappeared so he went looking for her as an adult and majora’s mask happens and he gets a happy life as a god with the strength of fierce deity and the powers of the ocarina of time
There is the possibility that Ruto would get jealous or something since the Zora Sapphire was supposed to be for her future boyfriend and husband or that he would go out with her instead but I highly doubt that though. Just a thought that occurred when you mentioned the Sages because I remembered that little detail
Ruto's dead
Yes but I have to agree Ruto is dead and I hated her because she was just a snoody little princess who makes you carry her in your head.
Link may have got a piece of Nabooru’s “crown jewel” though... She had a thing for him 😅
@@MrZangetsu468 Nabooru's also dead. Twinrova disintegrated her.

Me: "Then Majora's Mask wouldn't happen."
I'm sorry😂😂😂
Or WW and TP
Just taking the best games out of the series.
@@akumathelion535 Exactly.
Akuma the Lion Posting a bad theory multiple times doesn’t make it good... 👎🏽 ⚔️
Ganon: "...and now the fool seeks to return to the past, to undo the future that is Ganon!"
Link could've have daughters as well.
@@jeshuarestituyo284 if we get a female link we must call it legend of linm
A female link would be weird as links are all reincarnations of skyward sword link
YOU THOUGH I WAS A NAME BUT IT WAS I DIO well think of it like the last air bender maybe? like the first Avatar was a male but there have been female avatars too. idk just a thought
Linkle
Ya know...the only thing i ever had always wondered about the whole sealing of Ganon/Ganondorf is. Why couldn't the sages seal Ganon without Link fighting him first....was they that weak? Zelda being the reincarnated Goddess should have no problem taking care of Ganondorf herself. Just a thought
I mean she does basically hold him back for 100 years. So she's not a push over.
Manga isn’t canon
1. Not canon.
2. That doesn’t even happen. Navi tells Link she loves him, not Zelda.
Ah yes that title says it all. The theory/video that needed to be made. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time👏
The missing 4th timeline: Keep the Hero of Time
You remember in wind waker ganondorf was able to use his triforce of power to detect the triforce of wisdom tetra had?
Now as an adult, damn this is tragic:
"The Hero to Time had a tragic life since his birth.
This really needs to be the fourth timeline.
I remember playing Wind Waker and when it said a Link didn’t show up I remembered the ocarina I’d time ending and when everyone questioned where Link was, I was like “WELL EXCUUUSE ME, PRINCESS.”
Tbh I would’ve stayed in the future if I were the hero, those festivals looked pretty dope
damn, when I clicked on this video I didn't expect the roast of Zelda
I always enjoy playing BOTW while listening to these videos, but by playing BOTW while watching, I noticed something peculiar:
The Champion’s Tunic and the Barbarian (Zonai) Armor are the only pieces of clothing that link wears with an arm brace on the right side. Coincidence? Probably.
This would be a great plot for an oot sequel.
A timeline where Zelda didn’t send link back
It could also be that Link left Hyrule to find Navi and never returned
He would probably return but Way less motivated to do anything else
Ganondorf: I HAVE RETURNED!
Adult Timeline Hero of Twilight: Hiyah!
Ganondorf: NANI?
I’ve been waiting for this theory for a while! Thanks for finally making it!!!😊
I always have this theory of a 4th timeline. Sending link back to childhood was only his spirit but not his shell of his body which zelda put somewhere to sleep. I really thought BOTW was going be Hero of Time waking up but I guess I was wrong ^_^
It could make sense I can imaging link waking up after thousands of year sleep but unfortunately it wasn’t link that everyone expected.
I keep getting distracted by the editing. It's the same clips over and over with inconsistent art styles on the same scenes. And on top of that half the tine the clips are unrelated to the words being said.
THIS COULD BE WHERE BOTW BELONGS IN THE TIME LINE.
Nice alternate timeline theory vid, you must do more! I like this...
However thanks to Zelda we had 3 amazing games
Wind Waker Twilight Majora's Mask
Well done! Man, I never thought about it Zelda’s actions in such dramatic ways
Good to know, I'll try to keep this in mind next time I send someone back to change the past.
You can also say Nintendo wanted to make this story or timeline as long as possible so that new games on zelda can be made .
They should make a game if he wasn’t sent back
I think that the downfall timeline isn’t just an alternate universe in which link died, but a timeline branch created as a result of the meddling with time
That actually makes sense when you consider that it's required to go back in time and to the future again at least once to complete the game.
Easy, Link: (With brown hair)
I thought the adult timeline was when link stayed in the future and just wasn’t there for some reason to beat Ganon
Of all the Links, I'm pretty sure the Hero of Time had the most tragic story.
Bassically ," link were having a huge party for the victory of defeating gannon ....yeaaaaah your not invited"
This is also the reason I hated the ending to Samurai Jack
Thanks to the Historia, it isn't a theory, but a fact
It would be awesome if Link's descendant wielded the Sword of the Six Sages, slaying Ganondorf with the weapon he wielded in the Child Timeline.
The biggest change is that the Triforce of Courage is not Split because Link was not removed from existence. The easier creation of the next hero is a factor for the continual survival of Hyrule but The Triforce of Courage is Key.
This is the BOTW timeline. Knights, Ganondorf sealed as a human, prosperity enough for the hylians ans shieka to prosper.
Wouldn't it be awesome to reimagine (remake) Ocarina of Time in a world like Breath of the Wild?
Link might have an illegitimate child with Zelda to have an heir with both their powers, tri-force aside.
Pretty much just the child timeline except more people dead (cuz ganondorf) and in mm link would be an adult
Eleven (dq11 hero) looks at this.
“ going back to the past makes things worse.”
Hahahahahaha
Could this be the Timeline where Botw fits in?!
Hyrule would be better if that had happened but there would be one major consequence. Termina and all it's inhabitants would die with no hero to save it.
This video makes no sense.
Also, Link made no objections to going back in time in the end, and we have no idea about what Link got into after Majora's Mask.
5:26 I always assumed that the Hero of Twilight was decended from Link and Malon.
Damn. Perfect timing 👌
"Alright then I got all that off my chest"
You should do a what if video about what if Link was never sealed away with the master sword for seven years in oot. Would he have been able to defeat Ganon as child link and how would if affect the split timelines. Any thoughts?
the hero of time would live on with adult zelda and they'd heal the land together.
Cults in a nintendo game aww hell no
Btw We ALREADY HAVE THE YIGA CLAN
Except sending Link back was difficult for Zelda. She only did so because she thought she was doing right by Link.
Than it would be the adult timeline
Well actually the non-fallen Hero Timeline ;)
This honestly seems like an after theory. The point was just to beat the game and all goes back to normal.
Wow, I found this pretty early.
Love how you so cynically tear into Zelda even though we all love her 😂
Now if there happens to actually be a hero of the flood (which would make sense actually) it makes you wonder if the outcome of Great Flood Era would be different or not. Probably.
I wonder if people are even AWARE of Demise's Curse, Otherwise why not wish on the Completed Triforce for the destruction of the Curse?
I see lots of ppl covering the 3 timelines and what if timelines, I rarely ever see anyone covering the 4th timeline though. It would allow HW to become canon and possibly explain BotW filling all gaps in the other 3 timelines. Such a shame IMO.
If HW was canon it would be a major confusion as seeing that Young Link,Toon Link and Link in the same place
the hero of time deserves a happy ending
It was an Amazing ending. No Flood, mo depression.
What if this thoery is true and it's also the timeline of Botw?
I will always ship MalonXLink when it comes to this timeline, maybe put Linkle as the granddaughter of Link and Malon and the next hero of Courage, alongside her younger brother they unite Hyrule once more against Ganon. Wish that was a fanfic
Something they could do, also, but will never happen is having a new game that is set up just a couple years after OoT with the same Link, as an Adult that he won against Ganon or after the event of Majora's Mask. There's still place for a story, in between them. Maybe it is stupid, but I could totally see two games, right there.
I'm guessing it would explain exactly how he ended up becoming the Hero's Shade.
